I followed your instructions and as you said this is one of the easy computers to open up. I changed the hard drive, reassembled it and took it to a local PC repair shop to re-install windows 10. It worked like a charm. Thank you Al Geek Dad.
This really helped me, our five-year-old Inspiron 23 just crashed and Windows couldn't repair the drive so I had to replace it. I used your links to purchase the drive and while there also got some RAM and batteries. You really saved me a lot of time, thank you!
I would HIGHLY recommend an SSD. A hard drive will do the job but much slower! With a cpu with more than enough ram for a computer like this, running on a Hard drive means longer booting and load times. An SSD is more expensive, but definitely matched the PC much better.

reinstalling windows to the new hardrive any suggestions .thanks for sharing my hardrive crashd few days ago.. ive replaced memory before.. how do you reinstall windows..
we just put in our new hard drive and memory, now the computer wants a password to get into the whole system at the beginning,we have an inspiron 23 model 5348 ,it wants the system or administrator password,we have not used this all in one desktop computer for over a year now and i forgot the password ,what keys should i use to get into the system and bypass this or create a new password, and i cannot use the old password because i do not know it.,please and thankyou.
Hi, you look like you just took a new SSD and put it straight in. What about installing windows on that SSD? What is the process of installing the operating system? Should I do that first externally using the computer and installing windows? Or does the computer prompt you to install it once turning it on after installing the new SSD? The more details you can help me with, the better. Thank you.
I have the same PC. It was left unused for 3 months and now its not powering up. What could be the problem? I tried pressing the power button long enough but no use.
what did I JUST WITNESSED cmos the memory before the men. hit f11 on boot but don’t change anything on your com. to keep the clock alive also when shit down
I have the same exact model and I think the Graphics card might be on it's way out. Keep getting red lines on my screen which disappear after the computer has been asleep for a while. Any ideas what it could be or what to do?
