You have 2 jets in you carb. An idle jet sounds like it's clear and the throttle jet. Sounds like the throttle jet is plugged my man. Easy fix, if you can pull a carb apart.
I have a Yamaha 115tlra that loses fuel pressure between the fuel pump and the carbs. Question is since the gauge is between the pump and carb, can the carbs still be the issue, or does the problem have to be in between the pump and gas tank?
So if you were to pump the primer bulb while underway sort of being the fuel pump by pumping the primer bulb gently does it run or does it still die? Also could be in air leak maybe a tank connection or a faulty primer bulb or even a fuel pick up inside the gas tank Sometimes running the motor and a good known fuel tank like a little 3 or 5 gallon tank all set up is a good way to take your fuel line and gas tank out of the loop
Greg Lasko I will try to replace tank set up to smaller. When I squeeze the primer bulb it does remain pretty firm. Its when I try to accelerate anything above about 50%, the motor shakes like crazy and will die unless I lower the demand. I am new to this boat so I’ve already replaced the 40 gallons of gas with ethanol free, added a water separator, replaced the primer bulb (I make sure it’s in the vertical position), fuel pump, carburetor rebuild, spark plugs (125psi +-5)...it’s like I haven’t even changed a thing.
Check compression and spark. Then do what is called a cylinder drop test with a plastic pair of pliers pool a spark plug boot off while it's running and verify that each cylinder is Working. The shaking thing reminds me of a dead cylinder It could be spark compression or fuel. You could also while it's running with the carburetors available take a small squirt bottle of gas and carefully while it is running on the hose squirt a little fuel into each cylinder if one cylinder when you squirt fuel in revs the motor because extra fuel should actually make the motor stumble you could maybe find a fuel problem that way
The more I think about it I'll have to say Ignition coil I think the spark check should help you immensely or the cylinder drop test point you in the right direction
I would start by checking spark make sure it can jump in a good quarter inch plus air gap. Also make sure Compression is even Or close to it A timing light would tell you while it's running if you have spark on all of the cylinders. Make sure your premix oil to gas ratio is good. In fact switch to amsoil 100 to 1 2 stroke oil . Those surface gap spark plugs I would carry 2 sets of spark plugs both brand new. It's a starting point
My question is what’s the boat gonna do??!if you’re a repair shop you should have a stand for the motor and have tank to put the engine in. The boat has nothing to do with diagnosis of this problem.
It would have been REALLY helpful if you showed us what the problem was and how to fix it, unless you never figured it out!
alrighty then so what was the verdict
Why do you need the boat to repair the motor?
I have two of those.both have high pressure fuel pump failure around 2000 working hours.other than that you can try with lill bit more of throtlle
More than likley its the timing advance is not working correctly. Had one stuck on a close friends boat.
So what turned out to be the vacuum issue?
Nice. I’m not waiting for the sequel.
What happened next Greg?
He still working on it lol 😆 😂
If he doesn't know that was a date written on the oil filter he should not be touching boats Jesus guy
My thoughts exactly
Clean carb and adjust

I JUST BECOME DUMBER WATCHING THIS VIDEO 🤣
My 6 hp idles good when i swift in gear it starts too loose idle and stops !!!!????
Mine does the same ... smh

I also had a motor with a bent crankshaft act that way You in index the fly will with a piston stop

I have 98 force 120 kind of having same issue
This video is great Greg ! It is simple and speaks volumes , thanks .
And the solution?

Oh yeah and how old is the gas
A lot of time I knows old forces you look for plastic pieces in the Ignition timing Linkage that break. Therefore you just get throttle and no timing
@@greglasko thanks much greatly apreciatted
Greg I have an 6hp evinrude ... in neutral it rev fine but in fwd it pushes maybe half if not less. Why ?
Shift cutout switch
Dude, you can't leave everybody hanging like that, finish the video and stop the coke!
I was basically gonna say what everyone else has said!
no solution
The best trick is just remove one of the small intake hose... Won't effect anything...

You cant put a load on it unless you put it in the water with the boat. Anyone who has an outboard knows that.
Well you didn't show me anything. No help this video so you get a thumbs down from me I have this problem with my 70hp Suzuki
