Jokes aside, when it comes to anything creative, there's always going to be things you remember fondly as well as things you remember not so fondly. I may not be the best person to say this, but as fun as it is to laugh at one's past blunders and other such oddities, people might underestimate just how much time and effort it takes to make a game or a hack as good as it is. Andaron Saga has come a long way since... this, you and the rest of the team should be proud!
While not neccesarrily Post Apocalyptic, and not quite as Fire Emblem as Fire Emblem, i can highly reccomend you take a look at the PS1 game Koudelka if you wanna see a relatively well done Survival horror / Tactical RPG mix as mentioned near the end of stream. It does limited resources pretty well. Best way i can describe it is PS1 Era Resident Evil meets Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest with a Tactical Position based combat system.
Y'know? Always good to see beta's versions of games, to see how far it went, how it evolved for the better (or worst). And hey, always ready for a little cringe fest . Honestly? Your survival rom idea can actually become something good, there is a spark there. I hope you, or someone else, take this idea further one day.
The Last Promise is a writing masterclass compared to this. It seems Mangs couldnt handle the weight of writing so Klokinator had to step in and save the day.
Klokinator is the main writer for AS yeah. ... literally just compare the dialogue in the old ROM to the new ROM and you'll see how it was improved lol. It's a lot less stilted and edgy in the release version.
