whats even more impressive you can hear he programs drums the way they could actually be played on a real drum set; most of the beats are played separetaly, for ex. there are not multiple rolls happening simultaneously. whole thing could be played with hihats, snare and single bass drum alone
5:43, I will never not get chills, that melody that creeps in has no right being that sad, it's literally just 2 B notes then 2 F# 's (transposed down from G Minor) but 4 notes in its already so heartbreaking, something about the soft timbre, the sequencing and how it's framed and brought in just makes it next-level. GOAT, can't recall hearing anything better.
i really get reminded of this number from a fellow braindancer. Similar haunting sadness in this one too. RIP Rhys Celeste ua-cam.com/video/TvWDEiK7Tso/v-deo.html
@@ExtremeObservations I just slowed it down myself from the original source and it sounds exactly the same frequencies and all. It's not only the one from youtube.
slow aphex twin is so f up because we perceive that these drums are fu**ing not randomly generated and everything here makes SO much sense. As a beginner producer, this nukes my mind.
I only had the vinyl of "bucephalus bouncing ball" and never knew how to listen to it: 45 or 33rpm - i preferred the slow 33rpm version! Later on a cd i heard that it was meant to be listened in 45rpm! I love the details you can hear when it's slower!
Actually, it was meant to be heard at 33rpm, and it wasn't meant to be heard on CD. By recording at higher rpm you can cram more music on the medium. But only Vinyl, without any help, lets you play it at proper speed. RDJ also has a love for releasing on cassettes for their constantly changing playback due to aging. I'm getting a little off topic, but many of the Analord series tracks were recorded on cassette. If you listen VERY closely to a several tracks they bleed thru the to the other side of the tape; Bwoon Dub and it's corresponding song do this.
Very nice, ending is incredible. Haunting, amazing melody but as analogically dance-able as his best. A true 10/10 if I have ever heard one, thankful Rich is still giving us tunes like this.
makes u realise how fast the drums are in the original
afx make song slow first then speed it up, he told in some interview that because he wants to put more music on disk

@@mlodyimbir youd have to be the world's fittest drummer to play this at full speed haha
@@shinrarango well there are people covering vordhosbn 😁
Really makes you realise how bassy that snare is! It almost has more impact than the kick
i believe at original pitch, the snare's body/fundamental is at like 80-90 hz! never seen a snare that low lol
Aphex is definitely not human
Finally I understood why many people listen to AphexTwin slowly...

slatefx thank you for that, I havent had any thoughts about it, but now that youve said it sounds so haunting, eerie and alone
True that. The three note, bassy string sound that comes few times in the 3rd bars are intense as well.

I love this slowed down version, feel like I can hear the analogs cleaner...
4:11 to 5:11
The most insane minute of electronic music I've ever heard.
More intense than the ending to Mmountt st michael?
Took me a few listens to fully appreciate
on 5:17 you can see that the backround static is actually two frequencies, that means at least one track in the composition was pitched up in post.
Or pitched down? This one that was uploaded to youtube perhaps?
