Tassie spotted! Well done guys, I'm glad you arrived safely. Feels like watching Free Range Sailing in the opposite direction - can't wait to see the wild adventures crossing the bite and the wild bass strait.
Fuel Polishing - Something to consider is putting together a fuel filter and water separator that you can circulate your diesel through. You can also use this to run your cans of fuel through and into the boat.
Seriously best sailing channel around. So much close to reality . No drama, just the usual things of sailing. Good job S&S. Enjoy the journey while it last. Cheers
Galleycat calling Nakama, Leaving Perth this Friday for Exmouth would to wave as we pass. I'm guessing your using the Northerlies to put some miles (not Myles) under your keel. Where RU now real thyme! Cheerz Captain Felix
Have you watched Skip Novac's storm series? On an ocean passage he removes the anchor from the bow and stow's it below, drops the chain down the windlass with string tied to the end, caps the windlass hawser pipe to keep the water out. Just a tip
Great episode guys. You are such great story tellers. Have ever done an episode focused on how you create them? Collecting footage, storing data, planning the story, editing, etc.
Laughed out loud at the Dolphin Torch segment. We finally threw ours out last month, after 12 years of disappointing performance and basically just taking up an unfeasbily large amount of space. A birthday candle sheds more light than that piece of crap. Go on, Slim, take it ashore and smash it to pieces (like the printer scene from the movie Office Space) - the catharthis will be worth it. And it will make for some epic footage.
😂Omg, we don't know a sailor without one!! So funny! Literally the worst torch....(sorry Dolphin) Slim can't wait for the day that thing gets off the boat, if Slim is going to moan about one thing it's that bloody torch! 😂
Hi guys bloody ledgends, hope all is going well, that fuel bug is enough to to give anyone the shits. We are still hanging around the Whitsunday, going to wait for the race week. And check out the big boats.
Hey guy's thanks again for another great episode and bringing me along with you on this epic adventure of yours!!! Hey Chilli!! Hope all is well guy's!! Much love ❤️ 😊
Shark Bay has so much marines life, sharks, dugongs, dolphins, manta ray's, heaps of fish. Heaps of sharks! Hammer heads, tiger sharks, bronze whalers. I wouldnt go swimming lol
Never fill the tank direct , even from a trusted pump . Fill through one of those filter funnels that even filter out water . You will be shocked at what garbage is in fuel . Also check the seal every time on the fill and replace if at all questionable .
It would definitely be rude not to. You just have to. No doubt about it. Another great episode of telling a tale. Aren't there devices that will filter the fuel out of the Jerry can and before it goes into the tank? See you next week for some bug hunting.
Slim and Soph another awesome video. Glad you got the fuel problem resolved, Wow was that tank ever dirty. Would have thought you'd have that checked when purchasing the boat. What a great spot though to dock, fix and resupply. Great spot very beautiful it looks where you ended up end of video sheep, horse and cold beer what more could you ask for ? Looking forward to next video. Oh yea I hope you get some good use from the charger you got. You should do another video on it in a month or two letting us know if it actually gives the power it says, Okay cheers
Cheers legend! Hehe, felt very nice getting back to the islands and being greeted by some beach-converted farm animals 😂Good idea, we will certainly keep that in mind 😊
you can buy the exact same torch shape and brand everything but with an L E D bulb maybe get one of those when you get to Perth Cheers Pete (Gold Coast) Stalya
OMG, That fuel was putrid. I bet you were happy that problem child was resolved. What a classic Pub, It would of been Un Australian not to have had a few cold brewskies there Cheers
Yeeeeewwww you got rid of the diesel bug. Hope it stays away. I’ve heard good and bad things about dirk hartog. The bad is from 4WDs that break down there are a nightmare to get off the island. Never been myself yet tho. Also cool gin bar. Do the distil it there?
Fingers crossed! Yeah I can imagine that would be an issue! Pretty remote, not too sure how you would even get a car off that's broken down🧐 Unfortunately, I don't think they do distil the gin there, I think they do it on mainland. But you would have to double-check 😊 Good spot for a beer though!
angles, "some" catamaran owners would be envious of.... those of us with daggerboards and well designed and built cats, will match your angle and even raise you some! Phil
Certainly what's going on. It's after market so it's aligned the best we can but half a mil is all it takes. Will replace when we have the pennies but for now the green belts work a million times better than the rest haha
need to buy a good clear CAV filter, will see any gunk in it and it will sink to bottom and can drain it out of bottom ,your's are only good for cars with petrol engines
Sailing in WA is not for the faint hearted. Which club are you planing to sail into. Park up at HYC. 😂 we love beating into headwind in WA. 😂😂😂 Ohh I forgot that you are probably somewhere in SA as you are probably months behind with your episodes. 😂😂
you're right about those bloody Dolphin torches. Had one on every boat I've owned... Turn it on, and bang the bottom to get the light working... Every time... Bought my first lithium torch a couple of months ago, and never looked back...
Which crooked vendor sold you that diesel? Without your experience that could be dangerous and cost lives! Do you keep records? Expose him and stop this scam.
Tassie spotted! Well done guys, I'm glad you arrived safely. Feels like watching Free Range Sailing in the opposite direction - can't wait to see the wild adventures crossing the bite and the wild bass strait.
Clean diesel, a cold beer, the spirit of accomplishment, and someone to share it all with on a boat. Doesn’t get much better. 👍🏻🙌🏻🎉
Cheers legend!
😀😀👍👍❤❤ I'm 76 yrs. old and also a boat owner and you all know who's the prettiest of all the "babes" on the UA-cam sailing channels!
Hehe! Cheers legend 😊

Before LED’s those 6 volts were the best there was. We were thankful 😂

Thanks so much Doug! Appreciate your kind words😊
Thanks again guys. My favourite channel. Glad you fixed the bug. Keep it up and stay safe, you can do it.
Woohoo! Cheers legend!

We have since heard of this idea! we have seen some of his videos, but admittedly not a lot; from what we have seen, they have been fantastic! Cheers

Awesome episode. Truly the best channel sailing the Indian Ocean. Thanks for bringing us along. Cheers!
Nwah!! We're grateful for you following along 😊
Hi guys diesel bug is caused by water contamination by condensation in the half empty tank or leaking deck filler

Thanks for sharing the journey 🙏
Cheers legend!
Used to live in C’von. Good to see Gordon’s boat Bandolero looking so good!.
Awesome!!
Nice tip about the green belts. Did you change your secondary fuel filter? Might be due for a change if not. Another awesome episode :)
Yes! Sorry we forgot to capture that, but we did change our primary filter too
Dirk approved 😂❤
hahah
Always great!
Cheers!

Get yourself a drill pump for emptying bilges ding

Our is LED😂
Did u se that the horse looked at u in a glimpse moment - what are those creatures doing here? Ok this is inspired from Gary Larssons "far side"...

What a classic Pub, It would of been Un Australian not to have had a few cold brewskies there

Crazy ay! Haha, awesome beach side brew. Exactly! You couldn't not.
Nice job sorting the fuel system out!
Cheers!
love you guys !

@@SlimandSophSailingNakama yeah so you’ve got to get it dragged to the homestead then barge to Carnarvon costs about $5,500. Mate had it happen to him
Why not replace the bulb in the dolphin torch with a LED go for a daylight or 5,000K temperature or higher for brighter per watt. ?André
haha it is LED
Carnarvon is nice
angles, "some" catamaran owners would be envious of.... those of us with daggerboards and well designed and built cats, will match your angle and even raise you some! Phil

@@SlimandSophSailingNakama yeah... someone's missing a hook line and sinker somewhere....
Alternator might be slightly misaligned which would cause the short belt life..

That lunch looks really good but I think it would be even better in a tortilla like a breakfast burrito. How much was each beer?
cant go wrong with a brekkie burrito, not cheap😂 but i guess a lot of work goes into getting it out there
Yep Gates belts are good, I would pay $50 more just because they last.
👍🍻🇦🇺
need to buy a good clear CAV filter, will see any gunk in it and it will sink to bottom and can drain it out of bottom ,your's are only good for cars with petrol engines
So how many liters?
haha oops ballpark 80

She's as tight as she goes, were pointing
Just a quick hello to help with the algorythm.🤙
♥️♥️🫶🏻🫶🏻
You just need a newer torch. Mine would blind you at close range but looks just as ugly.
There is no such thing as principles in corporations law but at least it’s easy.
Replace the bulb with a halogen or LED
its led haha still ......
I put a cup of bleach in my diesel tank per 50 gallons.
Diesel bug strikes again.
Crazy Stralins, that's a flashlight, 🔦 not a torch. 🤦♂️
Cheers mates 🍻
