That said, we do have good players in Finland and more coming, next world cup will be interesting to see how far Finland can make it.
This guy really is a blast to watch. So good with his footwork and tremendous shooting efficiency, all while being 7ft tall. And he has a really high vertical which leads to some very athletic and thunderous dunks. Hope he has a long, healthy career!

The muscle he added over the off-season has transformed his game completely he was always skilled but now he is athletic something you really see players add into their mid 20s. The closest thing that I can think of is when Nash and Nowitzki in their mid-20s decided to lose their bulk and transform their bodies into lean fast twitch muscle and both became so much more athletic the next year. Laurie this year is jumping a higher his twitcher is quicker and stronger is elevating like a prime Blake Griffin. Something you just don’t see once players pass 25 it’s a true revelation really
Actually he didn't put on muscle last off-season but LOST 15 lbs. He is lighter now and focused last summer on squats, jumps, leaps and sprints training at a basically just a basement home gym in his hometown Jyväskylä, Finland.

Underrated aspect of Lauri's game. His physicality. Nothing is finesse, with how he finishes in the paint. Or plays tough defense, within the interior. The Finnisher, is a problem in these Utah streets.
He doesn’t need that. He’s already reasonably athletic and his shooting ability and height are his best assets. It’s already ridiculous that he can move at the speed he does while being his height and build. If he can get a little better on defense and facilitate some more he’ll become one of the top European dominant forces in the league alongside Joker, Luka, & Giannis.

I don't know if it was Cap (Mike Conley) going down early.. or their lack of an interior presence causing down to get killed on the boards, late in games. It's like their Cinderella story got turned into a pumpkin, before the clock struck 12. Anyway. Laurie is a beast. Didn't know he had this level of dog in him. Skills yes. Dog.. @@notaa6992 you do not understand. Lauri has been unleashed in Utah and they reaping the benefits. Getting a 50 mil performance at 17 mil price. That is incredible value if there ever was one. I'm not advocating that Lauri be set free from Utah, I'm advocating he is unleashed on the court... He has been a player who tends to raise up to the occasion and the bigger the game the better he seems to be. The more he shoots his percentages tend to go up with more shots. Which is somewhat incredible. #free_lauri
Nah he’s good where he’s at. Kessler is already a spectacular shot blocker as a rookie and fills the holes Gobert left when he was traded. They have fire power in Beasley, Clarkson, Sexton, etc. Vanderbilt can still defend and as far as I see it the only thing they’re really missing is for a player like Sexton to come into himself and carry a bit more of the scoring load when Lauri is cold and they’re set. Plus Mavs wouldn’t let Lauri play his game.
