Craig…thanks for the discount code for the Hanger! I appreciate your generosity! I found the more I flex my trail wrist and pressure my trail foot on the backswing, the better (and more consistent) my contact. Thanks for sharing!
At 70 years young, this video has gotten me back on track and eliminated lower back issues. I’m convinced most instructors don’t know what you teach, either. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wow. So many light bulb moments here. The part about keeping the club face more shut through impact(the ping-pong paddle not turning red) instead of open really got my attention. If you're opening up the clubface in your downswing (a very natural feeling to do I might add) how are you going to get shaft lean and compress the ball? And how is your body not going to do all sorts of weird compensations to shut the face? I heard Adam Bazalgette talk about how the brain will in that .2 of a second in the downswing make all kinds of adjustments without us even realizing it - chicken wing, early extention, ect. - all subconsciously trying to shut the clubface or to keep us from ramming the club into the ground. Your also making me a believer in a strong grip. Thanks so much!
Magnificent looking golf swing. Which is quite affirming in that you're on to something and that you are, in a sense, eating what you are growing. Thanks for the videos. You seem to have a really intuitive mind body connection thing going on and also have the ability to articulate it clearly Brilliant stuff!

@@jacobr4558 i think that’s a good question and i think that’s what this feel is. i think i might of gone a little bit hard on the reverse motorbike drill… but the feedback that I’ve received and noticing people practising it for a long time and not improving is one of the reasons why I don’t particularly favour the reverse motorbike drill
@@CraigHansonGolfyeah you are definitely correct! I really like the way you described everything in this video as well. I think a lot of times people get really obsessed with that lead risk being bowed and all that other kind of stuff but honestly it doesn't create the leverage that the trail wrist does. I was on a kick for a while where I was really radial loading the lead wrist and sort of unloading it with my turn and it felt really good it would launch the ball really high and got okay results. For a while I thought that was the mechanism. Now after a lot of time and trial and error and failure etcetera I'm starting to realize that the trail wrist is a very critical component of the swing. The way I'm understanding it now is the harder you turn the more you can keep your Trail wrist extended and if you don't turn much at all then you're going to have to flick the wrist basically. And I think there's everything in between. Ideally you'd rather turn as hard as possible and extend the wrist as much as possible that's what I believe most Pros are doing. Most amateurs are probably all over the place on that.
Amateurs do that because they have been told to shallow out or drop the club into the slot. A looping motion or figure eight. The reality is to swing under the plane by pointing your palm down thus creating the angle at impact that is naturally created by the flex in your wrist joint that is different for everyone. If they were told to keep the palm of the trailing hand facing the target for as long as they could after impact they would achieve the desired results.
scroll down and have a look at this it’s about 10-15 degrees more wrist bend at impact that address It’s a touch one to a answer because of the difference ball positions and clubs hackmotion.com/trail-
Hi Craig, when I do my backswing (clubface looking towards the ball in takeaway) nice smooth and turn, I feel like the downswing takes care of itself in a sense I already feel the clubface is coming towards the ball in downswing which will be a flush shot. Why is that? Is this because the clubface stays square in backswing and also downswing so that there is no manipulation with hands/arms , upperbody etc. I would appreciate if you could comment on this. Thanks.
It obviously helps you to swing smooth. You can feel and create better positions. Rhythm and sequence never to be underestimated. keep it going 👍 it obviously really works for you
What you show 1:51 is where I am struggling. I go from 1 o'clock to 3 o'clock. I swear it is a trust issue but I just can't seem to get rid of the urge to square the club at the beginning of my downswing. I am doing the opposite of what you say amateurs are doing. My right elbow flies out and I come over the top with a shut club face.
@@CraigHansonGolf It can get steep depending on how quick the elbow flies and drives the club over the top. I equate it to almost having the yips in that it's something that just happens on instinct and not something that I want to do. It doesn't happen on every swing but is something I constantly battle.
Damn, I wish you were in the US. I truly believe you could turn me into a scratch golfer in a couple days. I'm so lost right now and went from shooting 70s to not even being able to hit the ball.

They don’t make them anymore unfortunately

I like the tripod with noodle to keep your head not pulling back. I need to set something like that up.
Yeah it’s good to also just keep it in front of your chin and you see it peripherally

I went from not being able to hit the ball, to getting most shots to the ladies tee. Progress!
I took video of myself and I release the club way early even though I've been playing for 30 years...and had my HC down to a 10 at one point

When the right arm extends early, the wrists release.
Why does the right arm extend ? I don’t mean to be rude but did you watch the video?
