This is like at least 10 to 50 thousand dollars worth of books!! I’m so jealous. I can’t even watch this whole video without wanting to go out and buy all those books
wow, books from the folio society are so expensive though. I'm reading all these books, but I buy thrift books cause I'm very young and I only have a part time while I study. In the future, I plan on investing in a fine library to leave for my children, and just donate all the paperback I buy now
I simply cannot take my eyes away! Marvelous, congratulations. Thank you so very much for your tour. You are justifiably proud! You may be preserving western culture for future generations! May the Lord, God Almighty bless you and all you do.
I just recently purchased the decline and fall of the Roman Empire Eastern Press Six book edition. Other books on Rome interest me as well. Might pick those up too! Thank you for the video!
I stumbled upon your collections video, after watching some dissapointing youtube channels. What a wonderful gem, I LOVE your collection and you left me wanting to start my own! Thank you for that and you now have a loyal subscriber! ^_^
I'm speechless! Wonderful and amazing is what I can say for now about your collection. I'm always checking your reviews, it's quite helpful for me to decide to buy or not to buy as I can see properly the book's quality, plates, etc, thanks!
I have that same Easton Press Moby Dk. It was given to me for my birthday back in 2006. I'm actually finally reading it. I'm a little over halfway through, on chapter 65, The Whale as a Dish. It's been pretty fun. Almost every chapter is a different style of writing. I've never read anything quite like it.
That is one amazing collection! you have replied to one of my comments before how I said I only had The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings since then, I have picked up Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Emily Rodda's Deltora Quest and Mysteries of the Unexplained which is written and illustrated by various people. My collection is slowly increasing!
i love your collection and starting my own with the barnes and noble leatherbound classics i am envies of your chronicles of narnia edition i cant find it anywhere and of your JRR Tolkein books very amazing collection
Yes I know lol but they are so expensive idk how you can afford the books you get (not that its any of my business) but yeah I would love to have an Easton press and Franklin society collection but I will in time lol and not to offend but if you one day decide to sell your chronicles of narnia please let me know
Thank you for sharing your book collection from your personal library. It is absolutely amazing and stunning to a new collector as myself. I am a collector of the Easton Press and Tolkien Deluxe Editions, but having a hard time locating Tolkien's Tales of The Perilous Realm and The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun. Do you know where I can purchase these two titles for a good price? Thank you!
can you tell me where can I purchase exactly same one you have of the set nautical series ( old man and sea etc.. set of 6.. ).. publisher, writer etc?? you have a wonderful collection, thank you so much for sharing..
Steven, I must say you must have A LOT of money to afford such exquisite books AND the awesome glass doors bookcases! I used to buy the Franklin Mint books then later on the Easton Press ones but it was too expensive, plus I didn't have the shelve space for them. Can you please tell me where you got your Augustus statue (with his raised arm - I saw the real statue and it is exquisite, unfortunately I didn't get a statue of him when I was in Italy)? Please let me know because I really want to add it to my statues from Italy and Greece. Thanks.
Beautiful! How on earth do you get your hands on so many leather bound books? I myself have a book collection large enough, but they're all just standard paperback or hardback, finding leather bound books has proven very difficult! Where would you advise looking?!
For a person that is starting its leather bookcase, whick books do you recommend amongst the ones that you have there? What are your favourites? Thank you, I love all of your books !
Apart from the obvious, designed covers, maybe some illustrations or extra content. Nothing should be different, at least not with the main body of the work.
Hello, that is such a nice book collection. I have a few questions about your collection: Which book/series is you favorite (in terms of looks, content, readability etc)? And also what book was the hardest to find and buy? Thanks
***** I was going to ask you about your Harper Collins Tolkien editions. Did you have to find used copies? They look really nice. I also buy Folio Society and Easton Press books and I've always considered Easton Press books to be of higher quality/collectability, (from your response to Pigeonman) They just seem, to me, more elegant, albeit more costly. Could you elaborate on that? By the way, you have a very, very nice collection. I didn't see any paperbacks. Do keep those separately? I apologize for bombarding you with so many questions.
Any suggestions on how to read without rubbing out the gold embossing? I'm nine chapters into Don Quixote (Franklin Library) and there's already a patch of worn embossing on the spine, where my index finger rests.
***** Thank you very much. I'm not a serious collector and I do buy them just so they can be eye candy when they aren't being read. I will gratefully take your advice, and if my books get a little love-worn they'll be more valuable to me then they'd be mint and unread.
Hi, Leather Library! I am a really poor reader! My favourite book is Exploring The Earth and Moon by Patrick Moore. I found it difficult to read but enjoyed what I read in the book but I forgot basically all I read in the book immediately after I had read it. It is a really tasty work though, with 'Lovely' juicy coloured pictures in it. I also really like the Mr Men books.
Mike Fuller You might find it helpful to write short chapter summaries. When you finish a chapter maybe write down one or two very important events. No fine details. For example, here's my note on chapter 8 of Don Quixote, "Don attacked some windmills (giants) and some monks (wizards). Chapter ends with Don doing battle with a squire." It can also be helpful to keep a list of characters, for those times you find yourself wondering who someone is at chapter 40 who hadn't been mentioned since chapter 5. Actually, I'll link you the book where I found these tips.www.amazon.com/Well-Educated-Mind-Classical-Education-Expanded/dp/039308096X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472753008&sr=8-1&keywords=the+well+educated+mind It's really a self instruction to classical education and encompasses literature, autobiography, history/politics, plays, poetry and science. But I think its worth it if you only apply some tips from the literature section.
Awww! Thank you very kindly for the help, Kevin but I am afraid to say that I am a factual person more than being able to follow plot lines but yet these notes are a factual key to learning something much larger! I think Mr Men books and things like the 1986 RAC Guide Book are my level of interest! I do like compiling list of polymaths and brilliant people but too much reading I find difficult. I have learned the 99 line poem by WH Auden, September 1, 1939, ironic date to mention I know, but that is concentrated learning more than following plot lines of a story, and poetry unlike prose is more general fact, Goethe said, and I hope I am not going off at a tangent, or at least too much of one, that the difference between prose and poetry is whether the imagination is active or not. That in prose we are taken by the hand and shown everything in detail, where as in poetry we fill in the description more with our imagination. To get back to my point, poetry lines are often like pieces of fact that are complete and stand by themselves, where as in prose and stories the description merges too much in my mind to take in so well. With Best Wishes! Cheers - Mike.
I want to read A Song of Ice and Fire but I’m not going to buy any of the books until Martin finishes the story. I don’t think he will though. He’s old and very overweight. And I’m sad to say I think he could pass away before he finishes the series. I don’t see the point in getting into a series that probably won’t get finished. He’s been working on the current book for almost a decade right? And there’s still another book after that one.
@Anna 😂😂😂😂 There’s no reason to get invested in a unfinished story whos author will probably die of old age before he finishes it! I hope he does finish it but I just don’t think he will. I just feel like he’s not interested in finishing it either. He’s made his millions, he’s old...what’s the incentive to finish it? HBO did it for him. I didn’t really like how HBO ended the series personally. But it’s finished nonetheless.
Where do you get these books? they all, like, ALL, look aesthetically cohesive, all different but somehow like they all belong together. Trying to make my own bookshelf nowadays is so hard because all books sold on stores are ugly and in different styles, it's a disgraceful mix. For now, i am only focusing on Penguin Classics editions of my books, not the most gracious edition, but at least all covers and spines are the same, it's beautiful and really cheap, so I can read them faster and on the move. My intention is to later on in my life, with time, swap all these editions for Leatherbound editions like yourself, but I can't find most of these books on sale. Most are out of stock and the only ones available on amazon or so, are like 300£. Why the hell publishers don't make nice editions at affordable prices anymore? Folio Society only makes a certain amount of books so they go out of stock fast, and it's hard to build a library when most books aren't available... :( I need suggestions!
Look around in used book stores, often you'll find old books with amazingly beautiful bindings for the price of a new paperback. It might be hard to get a lot of matching sets that way, but I think there is an appeal to variety as well.
Alas, I'm afraid that someday there will only be ebooks, not the printed kind, and certainly not the exquisite leather-bound ones such as those in your amazing library. Franklin Library is already defunct and Easton Press I am sure will follow. Collect these while you can, while they are still relatively affordable, if you are a bibliophile.
rmwtsou As today's sophisticates and cube-dwellers rush to achieve their ultimate goal of modernist zen minimalism by tossing their libraries in favour of e-readers, I follow in their footsteps and buy up their old books wherever I find them. Ditto our library discard sales. Maybe I'll be the future's version of a crazy cat lady, but I'll be a happy one.
rmwtsou I'm not gonna say ebooks are a complete fad, but I think most people who really value literature and written knowledge of all kinds always value physical books. I'm 19, but I know a good amount of people my age who prefer physical books, so don't lose hope my friend. I've noticed even when it comes to video games, people are starting to prefer physical copies in favor of digital downloads.
leatherbound books will remain a niche market, It may be a small market but it won't go away, we just wont have a wide variety of people/companies producing the books as we have had in previous years.
In the future, I plan on investing in a fine library to leave for my children, and just donate all the paperback I buy now
Thanks for sharing your collection with. You have nice looking books.
Such a beautiful collection. Candy for the eyes and mind. Thank you for sharing.
Dream collection right there.
Especially the Tolkien section.
Marvelous books displayed in a splendid book case! Fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
I simply cannot take my eyes away! Marvelous, congratulations. Thank you so very much for your tour. You are justifiably proud! You may be preserving western culture for future generations! May the Lord, God Almighty bless you and all you do.

This is my dream library
Wow this is a great collection! I hope to have something like this some day as well...
Beautifull librarie👍
Always wondered what all those nice looking books were in rich people's private libraries. Thanks for showing us! 😊
I'm speechless! Wonderful and amazing is what I can say for now about your collection. I'm always checking your reviews, it's quite helpful for me to decide to buy or not to buy as I can see properly the book's quality, plates, etc, thanks!
Wow!!!! Great collection! :)
This collection is amazing.....
this is my dream book collection
Beautiful collection. I am envious!
I am so jealous!! :)

This looks so classy! Awesome. I have that B&N Hemingway 4 Novels book.
Want a shelf like this some day.
Subscribed!
Beautiful thx for sharing
You have all the books I want to read & now I feel like I need to collect them too. 😂
Zombie Prodigy good luck, Easton Press delivers their books very gradually but they’re definitely worth it
Excellent collection!
Very nice collection.
Bellezas de libros. Beautiful.
nice books i hope i can also collect like that.
Okay.
Exquisite👌🏾
I was just about to say, you've gotta have some stuff that isn't just classic literature and then BOOM, Wheel of Time. Well played sir.
Beautiful looking library. I suppose that by having glass panels on it you reduce the accumulation of dust?
It doesn’t help
@@StephenKershaw1 I suppose the glass should be something that filters UV light, so to prevent the de-colorising of the book spines?
so beautiful
i love your collection and starting my own with the barnes and noble leatherbound classics i am envies of your chronicles of narnia edition i cant find it anywhere and of your JRR Tolkein books very amazing collection
Yes I know lol but they are so expensive idk how you can afford the books you get (not that its any of my business) but yeah I would love to have an Easton press and Franklin society collection but I will in time lol and not to offend but if you one day decide to sell your chronicles of narnia please let me know
Update video? Amazing bookcase btw!
Where is Don Quijote? 😉
Amazing collection!!!
Nice collections, what is the black clock called?
I'm fascinated by manuscripts where did you get those books. Great collection by the way.
I like how you can't resist touching the bindings while giving the tour. I have the same issue with mine. :P
`drools` Loved it!
Pronounced "Gerteh", "er" like "ur" in "further", not "goth".
Thank you for sharing your book collection from your personal library. It is absolutely amazing and stunning to a new collector as myself. Impressive collection. May I ask where you get your bust statues?
Anyone found out yet?
Ebay.
Beautiful library. May I ask where you purchased those bookcases?
Would you mind doing a review on crime and punishment and Oedipus the king? Thank you!
can you tell me where can I purchase exactly same one you have of the set nautical series ( old man and sea etc.. set of 6.. ).. publisher, writer etc?? you have a wonderful collection, thank you so much for sharing..
I have some books that look like this. How do i know what their worth.
Have you made a video on how you maintain your leather bound books? Do you treat the leather to maintain its integrity?
Hi, thank you much for the enjoyable tour. Can you tell me what kind of camera you use? It really takes good quality video.
Where did you purchase your crime and punishment book from?
Steven, I must say you must have A LOT of money to afford such exquisite books AND the awesome glass doors bookcases! Chris Inman Easton Press and Barnes and Noble was where he gotten most of them, but Barnes and Noble’s books are far more cheaper than Easton Press
Can't wait!
It would be really awesome if you could provide a list with publication name in it.
Your videos are great. I hope you continue making them. I was wondering where you obtain the busts and miniature statues you have on your bookcases?
What's the shipping cost for books from Easton Press to Toronto, if you don't mind me asking?
Man I wish I wish I had an entire library of leather-bound and folio society books. Eventhough i mostly prefer to read on an ereader
Kolekcja przepiękna wydania dzieł niesamowite coś pięknego i wspaniałego niewyobrażalna uczta dla ducha i oczu Pozdrawiam z Polski
For a person that is starting its leather bookcase, whick books do you recommend amongst the ones that you have there? What are your favourites? Thank you, I love all of your books !
***** Thank you for the suggestions :D
How many of these have you read?
Hello they look great, it's real leather or faux leather?
Where were you able to find these books?
NICE!
What's the difference between these type of books, and your typical paperpack books that you buy from your local library ???
Apart from the obvious, designed covers, maybe some illustrations or extra content. Nothing should be different, at least not with the main body of the work.
Any idea where i can get a leather slipcover for my hardcover books? I love the idea of protecting then with a slipcase.
but those arent slipcover those are leather cover

Thank you for your reply. I wasn't aware of the leather and paper issue in Easton Press.
Nice Libary
What company makes better quality of book: folio or easton ? Thanks
Easton is my gold standard. Some of their designs are a touch gaudy, but their 100 greatest books series was fantastic.
very nice
Great Library! Whats your favourite book?
thank you for the reply and I think I will read that book
how about William Paley book natural theology.

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by JS Bach ( 1685 - 1750 ). It is beautiful isn't it, Alazar?
Are you a huge Tolkien fan? Because I see a bunch of Tolkien lore books in your collection
Beautiful and fantastic library! For how long have you been collecting them ?
Would you please be able to review all of those collector's editions of The Hobbit? They look awesome!
What type do clack is that right before 1:40
Edit: he probably doesn’t answer comments but it would be nice

100 % sure he hasnt 😁
Very, very lovely. Please invite me over for a cup of tea. Or just invite me over to sit down in the library...
Could you please review The Hobbit Collector's Box?
Thanks
do you smoke with those pipes
Only thing I saw missing was "The Travels of Marco Polo."
Man wish I afford some of those leather versions

Faust by goth. IRKS. The OE is pronounced like the umlaut ö and the E and the end is not supposed to be silent. Göthe.
Order them in chronological order, classic Greek before classic Roman before middle ages before modern times etc. You will thank me later.
