    I ve started learning The skyhawk two weeks ago and Iam impressed by how this free community- Module is modelled! I would pay for it, because of The immersive Feeling, flying this Legend in dcs! Thumps Up! Top The Team and top you Ian for this astonishing Work and for your informative and well Made Tutorials!

      Thanks, I agree that it is one of the best modules in DCS. If you really want to let the development team know you should go to their Discord channel and let them know.

    Thanks for the excellent video and as per our chat on Discord I followed everyone's recommendations and then updated DCS and was pleased to see that the mod didn't disappear.

    A note about swapping from ground power to aircraft power. The IDG, is supposed to be warmed up for about two minutes. I say supposed to be because aircrew never actually dose that. But they do let the engine get up and stabilized before switching over. This is most because engine start is a critical operation, and as you said things are happening to fast to be screwing around with managing systems. It rare in the real world but sometimes the engine will catch fire during startup, so the aircrew is totally focused on that, especially on older engines. So getting up and stabilized is the correct procedure.

    While your enthusiasm for the module is appreciated, this wasn't a 'tutorial' as such. I actually had to go the Reapers for that...I hate that.

    This is super handy but I would suggest maybe showing your mappings? I know in VR I had to give up two buttons on my throttle for left and right brake, I can't seem to make a mapping for "wheel brake" and that makes landing kinda fun. Thanks for the video

    • @Sidekick65
      @Sidekick65  2 роки тому

      In this, I think the only thing I am using is the rudder pedals. Each "toe axis" is mapped to one of the brakes. I'm not using a "wheel brake" to activate both brakes at the same time.

    • @WhereNerdyisCool
      @WhereNerdyisCool 2 роки тому

      @@Sidekick65 I wish I had the pedals, I am using the T16000 Thrustmaster throttle and stick. Also flying in VR so when you run out of buttons on the HOTAS, you need to get creative! Does the A-4 have yaw dampening? I thought it did?

    • @Sidekick65
      @Sidekick65  2 роки тому

      @@WhereNerdyisCool Yes, I can see where that would be an issue. You might try the A-4 Discord server, there might be some folks there with some creative suggestions. And, yes, I believe that the A-4 has yaw dampening. AFAIK, it requires AFCS to be in standby and warmed up. There is a switch on the left panel in the AFCS group of switches. Once again the A-4 Discord channel would be the place to go for more info. Here's the link: discord.gg/Qrt62rkGQx

      @@WhereNerdyisCool yaw dampener is the STAB AUG switch on the AFCS panel (see the Autopilot page or the pre-takeoff checklist in the kneeboard) - this switch requires the AFCS system is warmed up in order to be engaged.

      Well, I did set the altimeter but it was already correct. You are right about the other two items, but I believe they are Pre-Takeoff items rather than Pre-Taxi ones and I didn't get as far as the takeoff checks. But you are correct, they are on the checklist.

    Hi there, 1st of all i'd like to thank for your true interest and your videos. But I'd like to ask you something. Do you know anything about sepecat jaguar gr## moduals for dcs? If there's no such, than may be guys, who made A4, would like to realize it? it seems to me very interesting AC for being not forgotten. Sorry for english, it's not my native language.

    • @Sidekick65
      @Sidekick65  2 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately I do not know anyone who is working on the Jaguar - although I agree that it would be a fantastic module. I do not know if any of the A4 guys are interested in working on other modules. They have a Discord server if you are interested in asking them. BTW - I wouldn't worry about your English - you're doing just fine as far as I can tell. Thank you for making the effort to respond in my language.

    If you already tried the A-4 with a previous version you will find A-4 files all over your DCS in at least half a dozen places, then you remove them and still get authorization errors. I gave up on the damn thing.

    • @nyandyn
      @nyandyn 2 роки тому +1

      The readme file literally told you not to drop the files in your DCS install folder yet you did it anyway. Run a slow repair with extra file removal and this time put the mod under your saved games as instructed both in the readme file and this video...

    • @Sidekick65
      @Sidekick65  2 роки тому +3

      I have been flying the A4 across several versions for almost 2 years and have never had a single problem. I think I was quite clear about the proper method in the video.

    • @JNelson_
      @JNelson_ 2 роки тому +3

      You should never install mods into your base DCS folder.

    • @octobre79
      @octobre79 2 роки тому

      andyn is correct - you'll first need to remove any and all improperly installed files before you perform a proper one. once you have done so and can launch DCS without the authorization error, if you open DCS' mission editor and save a mission file, that there is the folder structure you want to be in. you can save a mission file and search for it with window explorer, or just note the folder location in full detail from the save dialogue.

    So rather then slowly droning on could you actually explain why you are clicking certain things turing certain things on? like after you closed the canopy you turned a whole bunch of things on, but rather they say what they are or you thought i was more important to say "I'm going to turn a bunch of things on"
