This week I’m catching up with fellow Disney Alum, Jason Dolley! Jason holds the special distinction of appearing in the most Disney Channel Original Films EVER. We talk about life as a Disney star and how he’s been working to build a life beyond it. Plus, Jason opens up about his struggles to forge a career following his early successes, and shares some of his favorite experiences in front of the camera.

About Christy Carlson Romano:
Welcome to the official Christy Carlson Romano UA-cam channel! Christy has been a working actress and singer since she was 6 years old. She moved to Los Angeles with her mother when she was 14 to star in the Disney Channel franchise, Even Stevens as Ren Stevens alongside Shia LaBeouf. Christy enjoyed many years with Disney gaining an Emmy nomination for her voice work as Kim Possible and starring on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast. She went on to balance her college career at Barnard College, Columbia University with filming movies for ABC Family including: ‘Campus Confidential’, ‘Taking Five’, ‘The Cutting Edge 2: Going for the Gold’, and ‘The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream’. Christy returned to Broadway in her mid twenties and learned to be a puppeteer in the Tony-Award winning ‘Avenue Q’. Christy was married to her husband on New Years Eve , 2013 in Banff, Canada after having met in a screenwriting class in college. She became impassioned with directing and made her debut in Lionsgate’s “Christmas All Over Again”. Looking at the thumbnail, I realized how Jason Dolley played both a chicken mascot in Hatching Pete and a worker at a chicken place in Good Luck Charlie!

Seriously thank you for getting all these Disney stars who had their careers and went off to live their own lives after whether still in the business or not…..and still having these conversations about the industry, their own lives and everything in between. It’s seriously refreshing. And I kinda fanboy when I see all these people I grew up watching , on here 🤭

I am 27, the generation that grew up with Even Steven’s and Corey in the House, watching this podcast makes my child heart so happy! To hear that it brought them joy to do their career is amazing. Not a lot of people can say that about their jobs ❤️❤️

Jason Dolley man, i loved Pj so much as a kid and also love what he said about the push/pressure of having to be a podcaster or streamer these days, hes doing what he loves and that is his "why" and everyone should do just that too in their own life. Thanks so much for this interview it was so nice to hear from one of the best big brothers in television and hope to see more of these types of interviews.

Jason seems like such a badass. I’m glad he’s still doing well. I cannot believe he’s around my age as I’ll be 34 in April this year. Time flies so fast but I’m glad for the memories and to still be here.

Fun story, my parents and sister actually met Jason and Bradley Steven Perry(Gabe I think?) at Disney world once a quite a handful of years ago. I opted to stay home that day, so I missed out. 🤦🏻♂️ Moral of my story is go spend time with your family when you can! 😅

Great episode. GLC was the end of an era on Disney Channel, and Jason created a lot of laughs and enjoyable memories.
True it was the only decent show on Disney now is ravens home and Sydney to the max .bunkd was good until season3Good luck Charlie was one of the just naturally funny shows it wasn’t forced and was relatable.
GLC Was the last Disney show I ever watched. Last I enjoyed for my age group (1999) I LOVED him in Corey in the House (that show was way too short lived we NEED a minka episode) I loved minutemen so much. He’s a great actor. Loved this interview

instant watch! I had a big crush on Jason during his Corey in the house days, when I was like 12. I'm really enjoying this series and hearing what happened to all these stars, and if they're doing okay. I always wondered where most y'all ended up after Disney or Nick or other child stars ended up outside of their roles as a kid.
I remembered Kim Possible hosting the Disney Channel Games with Drakken but I have completely forgotten which year😂. I LOVE watching the disney channel games. Not many people talk about it too! So glad that it was discussed here!!
Re: the different language versions of Kim Possible that you brought up, the Japanese version of Call Me Beep Me has a music video where the lead singer wears a bunch of Kim's outfits and interacts with a green screened Rufus a couple of times. Really awesome.

I love Jason! I was (and still am!) a Jason super fan 🤍 I had a MySpace fan page for him back in the day, I was obsessed lol. I even got to meet him in owasso, ok once! Such a great guy, he seems so genuine and kind. I loved yalls conversation.
I love how Jason doesn’t spill about his costars from Good Luck Charlie. He def. Knew what’s up with them but was so respectful about it. Also, just a side note that just bc you are trying to make a space safe for actors to be interviewed that doesn’t mean that they will be open to chatting w/ you just like when your assigned to a therapist and it just doesn’t click so you switch. Nothing personal but some ppl just don’t want to talk about the past which is ok

I knew Jason from Read It and Weep!! It was one of my fav films as a kid and then it was Cory in the house and GLC like he was my childhood. LETS NOT FORGET HATCHING PETE OR MINUTE MEN WHICH BOTH TAKE A PERMANENT RESIDENCY WITHIN MY MIND!!
Jason seems like such a chill guy to talk too!! One of my favorite actors still and I've showed my step kids his movies and my 12 year old step son and my two step daughters loves Minutemen. I've shown them all the Disney channel original movies from the early 2000s from when i was a kid! Nostalgic for me of course lol.

Jason was an actor way back when he was younger. He was adorable in a very un-Disney rated sit-com called The Savages. And he was amazing and so funny there.
I know Jason Dolley from Complete Savages and Shiloh 3 Saving Shiloh. I used to have all three Shiloh books too.
i recently watched minute men again for the first time in years and it is still one of my favorite dcom's!

Jason seeing his Norwegian dub and you saying " THAT is weird* sitting here as a Norwegian 😂 . For the record I never liked the dubbed version I grew up with Jason on Cory in the house before Disney channel starting dubbing the shows which I prefer the original ! They would usually show the undubbed versions of the shows late at night "for the older kids" who could read the subtitles :). Also I did grow up with the Norwegian dub of Kim possible which is pretty good it's less weird when it's a cartoon haha recommen you listen to the Norwegian theme song the singer is fantastic!! Also have as an adult watched Kim p in English and obviously love it so much x sorry for the long comment you'll probably never read haha ❤

Jason dolley and Tony oller were apart of v factory a band a few years ago but they left to focus on their acting careers
It's very nice to hear actors talk about how pleasant it was working with Disney. I feel like a lot of the attention goes to the negativity of working with the company, and that kind of turns me off. Hearing that there are people that had positive experiences with the Disney Channel as a whole makes me happy.
