Yes the Corrs are amazing. They’re a family from Dundalk in Ireland.
In terms of more energetic songs, I’d recommend Forgiven Not Forgotten, Only When I Sleep, So Young (K-klass remix), Breathless, Summer Sunshine and Radio.
Three sisters and one brother. Andrea is the main singer in the group and can play tin whistle/ flute also. Sharon is the backup singer playing the violin. Caroline is the girl on the drums and Jim is the man on the guitar (but plays piano too).
I seen them live in 2016 in Dublin and they didn’t disappoint. They sound even better live I think
Andrea is the lead singer, Sharon is the violin player and Caroline is the drummer they're all sisters and the guy on stage with them is their brother jim
This was my husband and my 1st dance at our wedding in 2017. They're my favourite band and this song was just perfect to capture our love ❤
The Corrs are from Ireland and have the violin in all their songs. There biggest hit was Breathless (I would recommend the live version from London Wembley in 2000). If you want to see more passion, check out their video of Goodbye.
Definitely the London performance was unreal vocals from the girls
But I love the video!
Technically isn't it the fiddle?
@@popland1977 yes but not other cultures call it that.. but your right
@@popland1977 No, fiddle is slang for violin in Ireland and Appalachia. You would never call it a fiddle in front of your violin teacher.
"Breathless" is another Great song from them, well worth checking out....👍👍
Yes!! It was their biggest hit here in the U.S. Uptempo too.
I love that you are reacting more to The Corrs
"i don't know if they can pull this off by themselves" 🤣🤣 Americans are hilarious,
In Australia their Album was at the top longer than the former Queens reign
Fans fell in love with The Corrs after listening to this particular song.
And I loooove their second album "Talk on Corners": precisely remains the highest-selling album of all time by an Irish act in the UK, as well as one of the best-selling albums of all time in the country. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The first track Only When I Sleep is awesome!! You'll see. 😁
I second that. 'Only When I Sleep' is one of their best songs.
The Corrs are absolutely amazing! So many great songs. Forgiven not forgotten is amazing
If you want to hear Andrea sing something edgier / more passionate, check out "I Never Loved You Anyway," "Only When I Sleep," or "Humdrum/" Also their song "Angel" was a reaction to their mother's death. The song is great, and the video was filmed in Ireland. Finally, check out their cover of "Old Town"--sung with lots of attitude. The "Unplugged" concert version is the best performance of it.
The sister who was playing the drums was Caroiine, not the lead singer, Andrea. Sharon played the violin and their brother, Jim, played guitar and piano. I know a lot of people are recommending "Breathless," 'because it sounds great but it's a simple pop tune. The Corrs had a wider range which is why I'm recommending the songs above. 🙂
I highly recommend you listen to their first album (1995): Forgiven, not forgotten. A masterpiece. 🤗👌🏼
👉 Forgiven not forgotten, Closer, Runaway, Someday, Secret Life, Toss the feathers (instrumental tune), Leave me alone, The Right Time... and Heaven Knows!! Gorgeous absolutely gorgeous album
Andrea is more of a melodic singer, she never really tends to blast out vocals. They have tons of good music though. Breathless, what can I do, summer sunshine. All good music.
Her voice and the harmonizing remind me of the group "Wilson Phillips", you know from the song "Hold on for one more day"? I mean their voices are almost identical!
Two harmony-heavy groups! 💜💜💜
Agreed. They both do sound remarkably similar. Surprised not many feel that way.
Love them. Now listen to their songs...BREATHLESS & SO YOUNG
One of my favorites! "Breathless" is great too. "Long night" and "One night" are other good choices. And I love "Only love can break your heart" (Neil Young's cover, I think)
I am a massive Genesis/Phil Collins fan but for a good few years I were hooked on The Corrs especially the lead singer Andrea. Saw them twice live, very good.
Three sisters and a brother all sing. Lead is Andrea. She play’s Irish tin whistle
“So Young” is my favorite song of theirs! 💜
Soo freeing!!! LOVE that song.
This was my first time hearing this band and I like them very much. I think I will need to explore their catalog a bit. Thanks for the introduction to The Corrs.
♥️✌🏼😎
The Corrs aren't Folk. They are considered Pop Rock with an Irish influence. You'll love some of their original songs even more than that cover. Breathless is one of my favorites. And anytime you get siblings all singing together, you have pure gold. And it's not three singers, they all sing and play instruments. The group consists of the Corr siblings, Andrea (lead vocals, tin whistle, ukulele), Sharon (violin, keyboards, vocals), Caroline (drums, percussion, piano, bodhrán, vocals) and Jim (guitar, piano, keyboards, vocals). They are from Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland. The Irish theme is where you get some of those instruments being used, not from folk.
Great review! Andrea Corr has one of the most beautiful voices (love the Irish yodeling at the end) and the family has immense musicality and talent. Interesting how you wondered if she does more anthem love songs (like heart). That's not really their style. The song No More Cry packs a good punch. Another smooth ballad is their duet with Bono from U2 - "When the Stars Go Blue"
This band is from Ireland and they are all siblings. You're correct... this tune was not meant to be overpowering. It's simply a beautiful song with great harmonies and violin playing. Some of their tunes have the lead singer playing flute which really adds another dimention.
Also they’ve done a ton of work for South Africa and were good friends with Nelson Mandela. They were his favorite group and they would do anything he needed them to do to raise money for aid for poverty anything for charity.
They also did charity work for Luciano Pavarotti, and at Live 8, where they sang “When The Stars Go Blue” with Bono in Edinburgh.
The MTV Umplugged álbum is amazing
Indeed! One of my favorite albums. Talk on Corners is my favorite.
Hear hear!
Yes talented and beautiful Corrs siblings.. "What Can I Do?", "Say", and "Never Really Loved You Anyway" are nice tracks, too. Hope you check these soon.
Radio- MTV unplugged is a great song
I think Andrea was 15 years old when she first sang this in the Pub. Only When I Sleep is a love song. The Corrs are #2 in Ireland after U2.
If you want some more pop with folksy instrumentation and beautiful harmonizing try 10,000 Maniacs and Natalie Merchant
This girly band they made a good song called LEAVE ME BREATHLESS and i don't what happened to them there are so many girly bands they made one album and suddenly they're gone such as EXPOSE they had two songs SEASONS CHANGE and COME GO WITH ME, WIILSON PHILIPS the song is HOLD ON and finally SWEET SENSATION the song is SINCERELY YOURS listen to them
Ummm… wait a minute. Not sure about the Corrs creativity? Oh, let me lead you down the rabbit hole of the Corrs. I’ve been a huge fan of the band for years and I’ve met them three times. They are amazing.
History. The Corrs are from Ireland. They were taught by their parents. Their background is traditional Irish music. Their album Home is filled with old Irish standards. They are THREE sisters (Andrea - singer, Sharon - violinist/keyboards, Caroline - drummer (who can keep up with Mick Fleetwood), bodrain, piano) and one brother (Jim, guitar, piano). The sisters have been voted on the most beautiful list for at least 4 to 5 years.
Music wise.. The first album, The Right Time, Leave Me Alone, Closer, and Erin Shore. From the second, So Young, Only When I Sleep, I Never Loved You Anyway (there is your break up song in the best way). Third album, Breathless, Give Me A Reason, All the Love in The World, One Night, Say. From the Fourth, is the unplugged album, No Frontiers, Radio, and VH1 Presents, When the Stars Go Blue with BONO, and Summer Wine again with BONO. This will bring us to Borrowed Heaven, one of my favorite albums. Check out Summer Sunshine, Angel (written for their mother who passed away), Long Night, Time Enough for Tears (written with Bono for the movie In America), and Borrowed Heaven. Next would be White Light. Check out I Do What I Like, Ellis Island, White Light.
Solo Work. Andrea, the singer, has released two solo albums which are both are good. I would check out Hello Boys, Shame on You, Champagne from A Straw, Anybody There, I’ll Be Seeing You (an amazing cover), Blue Bayou (beautiful rendition), Tinseltown in the Rain, and They Don’t Know. She was also in the movie Evita with Madonna (she was Peron’s mistress and gets kicked out of bed). Sharon, the violinist, has also released three solo albums. I suggest Our Wedding Day, Small town Boy (cover of Bronski Beat’s song -yeah check them out, Jimmy Somerville can hit the highest notes known to man), Butterflies, Raindrops, We Could Be Lovers.
Did I mention that the ENTIRE family is in the ultimate cult classic film, The Commitments? You have to look hard for the three but Andrea is one of the sisters. And you can find one of the guys from Boyzone in the film as well. It’s very quick and in the beginning. The movie soundtrack and the cast are actual musicians. One of the characters, Decko, the singer, was 16 when the movie was filmed. His name is Andrew Strong. You need to check him out. He is amazing!!! Did I mentioned the soundtrack kicks some major booty as well.
Enjoy! Sorry, so long. I’m a new subscriber. And you asked for some information about the Corrs and I couldn’t resist. I love this band and wish they will come back with another release. I miss them. The most recent album, Jupiter er Calling, is a beautiful album and it has to be listened to in its entirety. There is no standalone song. Its a true Corrs fan album.
One of my fav songs from The Corrs, along with Breathless and One Night
You want the song is "I Never Loved You Anyway" quite a bit rockier and with lots of interesting bits
Okay, so I watched this back in April, but didn't comment then because you wanted to know if she could/would ever 'go there' with her voice, and I knew she could, but you didn't - yet! If Marc hadn't come along to make his request, I would have done it eventually. I have another Corrs song for you. It's coming up in September. But, yeah, Andrea's voice is stunning. They do a lot of covers, but they're great songwriters, too. The Corrs have worked with U2 for a very long time, and helped contributing to The Hands That Built America soundtrack for Gangs of New York, and stood in for another act that couldn't make it for their opening Elevation tour shows in 2001. I wish they had opened for them for all the Elevation shows because I would have seen them too! >.<
In the States, most places outside of Ireland, they never made it that big, at least at first. But, Breathless their breakout hit ( that is very pop, not soft like those you've heard) hit the airwaves and I was hooked. It got played endlessly but I didn't care, sang it all the time when it did lol. Then, bought their first CD the moment it arrived, then played and sang it all the time too. :) It turns out it was their third album, but their breakout in the States. That was 2000. In 2002, the CD VHI Presents The Corrs: Live in Dublin, so I got that and know all those songs too. It's got about half covers (Hendrix Little Wing, and When the Stars Go Blue, etc.) and some of their bigger songs, including this one, Breathless, So Young.
Well, did you have precognition...you said this song is about falling in love and they sounded just right for that here, but hopefully they write one about falling out of love or a breakup song where she just loses it... and you just reviewed that exact thing from them and she did ha ha!
@laura😍
@@jackjackson3769 😘
That family has some good genes
The Corrs are really great, try with MTV Unplugged is my fav album
You're take on it is spot on...it is a very dreamy song.
Try "BREATHLESS" by the Corrs
If you're looking for some of her "vocal performances", you might wanna check out All The Love in The World, Angel, Summer Sunshine and Only When I Sleep. For heartbreak songs, Long Night and I Never Really Loved You. If I remember it correctly, Andres(the vocalist) wrote this when she was a teenager, hence kinda dreamy song.
As for other bands, NONE. No other band like this one.
@@tinwhistlemusic1191 I remember Andrea said in an interview that she was an adolescent or early teens when they first sang this song in front of their parents. She remembered being shy about the "make love to me through the night line, lol. Anyway, this song still a big song in a lot of places.
The corrs was brother and 3 sisters. All talented and talented band.
check out their cover for " Elbow - One day like this ", a live version at BBC radio 2. So amazing.
Another song of theirs that's very pop with the trad Irish sound interwoven is "Angel." Super happy song that always makes me smile!
Ooo one of my favorites by them.
Realize they are a traditional Irish folk band that has pop sensibilities Tin whistle, Fiddle and the Bodhrán. If you notice the sisters have ate amazing harmonizing because they all sound very similar are great singers individually.
If you notice she does that flip which a lot of Irish singers do such as Dolores O’Riordan and Sinead O’Connor it’s from the Sean- nós Tradition. Andrea’s inflections are a little softer but it’s true to traditional Irish music. Her voice is stunning in the harmonies with her sisters and brother is so cohesive.
You might want listen to them sing in Irish. They all speak the Irish language
Gorgeous and Lush song
I love The Corrs, they were great and still are. You should check out their album from 2015 and 2017🎶
Also, 'Only In My Dreams'.
I saw these guys live in 2004 they were amazing, a tune thats worth checking out is So Young its a banger
The vocals were totally clear and flawless. Love it 🤗👍🏻
Along with On my father's wings / Looking in the eyes of love / Love in the milky way... 😍
I've always said that her best vocals were made during 1995- 2001/02... 😊
Forgiven not forgotten (95), Talk on Corners (1997-98) & In Blue (2000) 👌🏼
To see the real Corrs,
Live Lansdowne Road is a must.
Absolutely! “No Frontiers” is just an amazing cover.
She kinda goes for it in Only When I Sleep
The Corrs are my childhood, their songs hold so many happy childhood memories for me, like, my heart just swells with happiness whenever I listen to them.... I wish there were more Corrs reactions on UA-cam ❤
Good song. Would you be happier, radio, only when I sleep, irresistible, breathless are my other favorites of them.
The Corrs my teenager memories ❤️ 🤗 "breathless", not the same, but very good too 👌 ❤️ very good band
search this live performance of the Corrs " The Corrs - "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" | The Late Late Show | RTÉ One "
you're gonna witness awesomeness
What can I do is a must reaction :)
Not a female Phil Collins 😂😂. Andrea is on lead vocals, Sharon on violin, Caroline on drums and Jim on guitar. They are siblings, and all multi talented instrumentalists.
My favourite band growing up. Being half Irish I just love that violin Irish sound.
Oh believe me !! this family has talent ,and plenty of it !!! They have written songs that literally make a 64 year old cry, ( ME) and I have Scottish and Norse roots, but I can say it is my pleasure to have heavily Irish extended family..
The MTV Unplugged from The Corrs is amazing, you should check it out.
Another to check out- 'What Can I Do' (music video version!).
If you want to get an idea of what Andrea, their lead singer, can do vocally, then I recommend that you check out their song 'Only When I Sleep'. There's more passion and oomph in that.
I saw them 5 Times in Hamburg! Iam a big fan, because my mum came from eire. You have to watch the corrs unplupped, this concert is sooooioooo good!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Breathless is a rocker you should check out or angel.. you will see what you want
I also vote for 'Breathless'.
My childhood songs loved this band back then ❤️
It's three sisters lol one sings lead, one drums and one is the violin, and the brother is the guitarist
Being from Northern Ireland, they were quite big in the 90s. I still love them, especially that Irish sound of the song Right Time.
I think they’re from Dundalk in the Republic of Ireland, not far from the border with Northern Ireland.
They have more popular songs you haven't tackled yet like 'I Never Really Loved You Anyway', 'Breathless', and 'So Young'. "Only When I Sleep' is afaik their first popular debut song. 'What Can I Do' is what i suggest you listen to next it's beautifully folky unique. But idk why, my favorite of them is their song called 'At Your Side'.
Andrea core the most beautiful woman in the world
Check out their MTV Unplugged, you're gonna love it.
I loved this song when I was younger, haven’t heard it in forever
Say it's true, there's nothing like me and you
Not alone, tell me you feel it too
And I would runaway
I would runaway, yeah
I would runaway
I would runaway with you
'Cause I have fallen in love
With you, no never have
I'm never gonna stop falling in love, with you
Close the door, lay down upon the floor
And by candlelight, make love to me through the night
'Cause I have runaway
I have runaway, yeah
I have runaway, runaway
I have runaway with you
'Cause I have fallen in love
With you, no never have
I'm never gonna stop falling in love, with you (with you)
And I would runaway
I would runaway, yeah
I would runaway
I would runaway with you
'Cause I have fallen in love
With you, no never have
I'm never gonna stop falling in love, with you
Fallen in love with you
No never, ever, I'm never gonna stop falling in love, with you
With you, my love
With you
Ya da da da da da da da da da da da
Nice 👍 Music Celta.
Andrea Corr(lead vocal) had a small role in Evita (movie)
She was also in The Commitments!
What you really want to see is "ONLY WHEN I SLEEP" thank me later 😀
That would go good with the Disney. moving ever after.
Great that you are covering Savage Garden and Delta. And the Corrs - from Australia and this was the first country that The Corrs broke outside of Ireland. I would love if you would consider some songs from Natalie Merchant and/or 10000 Maniacs: Because the night, or Carnival, Wonder, etc.
At that point they're just a nacional band from Irland... but the world, thank to internet, was listening their music
Try " Queen of hollywood" and "Radio" of the Corrs
The Corrs - Breathless
The Corrs - What Can I Do
The Corrs - Forgiven Not Forgotten
The Corrs - So Young
The Corrs - Only When I Sleep
The Corrs - Don't Say You Love Me
The Corrs - Irresistible
The Corrs - I Never Loved You Anyway
Alejandro Sanz - The Hardest Day con The Corrs
Bono & The Corrs - When the stars go blue
Other Irish bands you should check out
Girlband- bewitched
Boybands-Boyzone Westlife & the script
Karena channel ini memposting tentang the corrs ! Tanpa pikir panjang saya langsung pencet tombol subscribe untuk channel ini 🤗 karena saya adalah penggemar berat grup band asal irlandia ini ! Bravo The Corrs 😍
She doesn't drum, she does though play the tin whistle which the sound is incredible.
2:58 its a fiddle. 9:19 Luke Kelly, Raglan Road. Van Archer, Nothing.
watch there concenrt in philipines specially the song runaway😊
Soooooo good❤️
If you like the folk tinged pop sound you should try Runrig's Somewhere featuring Julie Fowlis - one of the most moving songs I have ever heard. Runrig are a very Scottish cultural phenomenon!
Julie Fowlis is most known for her song "Touch The Sky" from the Pixar movie Brave, but she's one of the best Scottish singers, and she mostly sings in the Gaelic language.
@@RiggieHeartland She has a beautiful voice. My daughter's gaelic teacher was however horrified at the way things were pronounced in the gaelic songs in Brave! She is in Gaelic medium education here in the Scottish Highlands.
Come on, let's get some Kylie here, Kylie is severely underrated in the US and Canada, Confide in Me is my pick for you to dip your toes in with, then I Should Be So Lucky, Better the Devil You Know and then we go from there
Hi Anton, if you're looking for a passionate heartbreak song from The Corrs, i suggest you listen to The Hardest Day. They recorded this song with Spanish arttist Alejandro Sanz. Not a very popular song as they never released this on their studio albums but it's an interesting find. Hope you get a chance to listen and react to it. 😊
im proud to be Irish
She doesn't drum, thats one of her sisters :P She's on the left :P
theyre sibling thats why they look alike lol
Check out Angel great tribute to their mothers passing or I Do What I Like both excellent tracks which IMO highlight more oomph!! in Andreas singing and certainly brings out more passion and power to her voice with great melodies and Gaelic influence!!!
That was filmed in Ireland please they’re an Irish band. Well it’s the traditional Irish instrument and the way they set up their song structure
Their an Irish family 3 sisters and brother Jim
Songs by The Corrs are amazing songs, but I don't think Andrea's, the lead singer, voice is that powerful. It's a very nice voice, don't get me wrong, but it's not like she's Celine Dion or Adele, or even Delores from The Cranberries. The music has the Irish influence, which I think you can tell, obviously they are Irish, but they are a pop act, and I think the music speaks for itself, well constructed, well written, wholesome pop. Their whole album Talk On Corners is a classic, I would recommend Breathless next, What Can I Do is also very catchy, as is Don't Say You Love Me, which I think has Carpenters vibes, and Only When I Sleep, and So Young. Their cover of Ruby Tuesday live in Dublin is also worth a listen. Then there's Queen of Hollywood, Love to Love You, and Give Me a Reason, so many good songs and I think all have that Irish twist in them.
There are a whole band who all look alike. Ok that's again serendipity, but not cos it's in the DERRY GIRLS season 3 soundtrack. That programme is soo funny. I love The Corrs. Watch Derry Girls Channel 4 - before the Tories kill it. I love The Corrs; Andrea Corr xx
You do know that's a family band three sisters and brother
Check out Queen of Hollywood
Us from northern Ireland have pretty good voices for singing but terrifying to chat lol
