They never made a bad song. So good
true that
You can say that again. Shame they only had a couple albums
@@victorcook4530 There's something wonderful in a legacy that was left untouched 💙
@@khategerona6871 absolutely. Both albums are masterpieces.
@@victorcook4530 😘😘😘
This whole album is a 90s vibe, so many good songs
Agree, but also timeless… which also seems to be a ‘90s thing too.
@@victorcook4530 yeah an indication of 90s. It's timeless 💙💙💙
Agreed. Great time if they rode the 90s wave from early grunge to pop explosion with boy bands, Brittany, etc. Masters at writing/producing amazing pop tracks that are truly timeless. Daniels voice is amazing that another who tries to cover plates. Loved that
Anton has embraced this band.
Savage Garden is a Australian band really popular in the late 90's. Over here they were always chart topping with so many of their songs. Darren Hayes has amazingly unique vocals and alot of emotion when he sings.
They have only two albums as a band (sadly) but Darren Hayes has released a few solo albums as well. I envy you for just getting to know them. I still remember the feeling when I heard their songs for the first time. Their albums got me through my high school years. The songs have stood the test of time, in my opinion.
This is a masterpiece. Both their albums are. I want you has a Roxette kinda vibe to it. These guys were massive back in the day 👌👌👌
Somebody has already mentioned, "truly madly deeply". But you should really listen to it. It is marvelous! Thanks for this reaction! I love this band. This brings me so many memories.
I also want to group hug all the other SG/Darren Hayes fans for these positive comments. They are super underrated and deserve all the praise and more ❤️
💯
hear hear
Affirmation is my favorite song from Savage Garden. Lyrics are so great.
Soooo agree with you on that … their best track
Not my favorite musically, but the lyrics are absolutely wonderful!
Listen Savage Garden - Crash and Burn
You have to listen to their song "I want you". You will fall in love with this song immediately
I have been listening to this song since childhood, twenty years have passed, and it does not bother me.
I really loved watching your reaction to this song. Darren Hayes has one of the most unique voices and is a favorite singer of mine. Their music in the 90s was just amazing. I wore out their albums by listening to them so much. Thanks for sharing your reaction. I enjoyed reliving the joy of it with you.
Hi, Darren Hayes has a beautiful voice, please react to "Insatiable" his voice in this song is so amazing, thanks, saludos y bendiciones para todos desde ciudad de Panama, Happy New Year 2022.
He was so beautiful too.
His falsetto in that song though..... **chef's kiss**
Insatiable 💜👊
A lot of people mention 'Truly Madly Deeply' or 'I Knew I Loved You' when talking about Savage Garden, but their song 'Crash and Burn' is my favorite. This one is a close second.
EDIT: Also, Darren Hayes has a voice like silk.
Yes. Crash and Burn is hands down the best. second place goes to the animal song
Crash and Burn is incredible as is Affirmation
This is the 'Americanized' music video. The original video that was released in Australia with the song was a space video.
Oh my gosh - I watch a lot of reactors, quite frankly because I enjoy watching someone reflect back to me my own love of particular songs. You however, philosophise about the songs in a way that I hadn't necessarily thought about. Your thoughts on this were great - your take of the different ears was also intelligent and intuitive. Great reaction.
Did you know Darren Hayes was fan of Roxette? In 2011, he was the opening act for the Roxette concert in London, and he sang a part of "Listen to your heart" (minute 7:38) ua-cam.com/video/JFYMZiH1OxI/v-deo.html
Who wasn't fan of Roxette? One of the greatest band ever.
I love their song Santa Monica. There is no video but please check it out!
They were big in the 90s in Singapore.
Just last week I took my 2 Savage Garden CD's to my car and I've loved listening to it again. If you like pop and good melodies, this has to be part of everyone's playlists. I promise, there is isn't a bad song on either of their 2 albums! You can react to every song and be blown away.
Very underrated band. They were my favorite, back in the day, Darren’s voice is amazing. They didn’t last long but what they did put out was really good.
I highly recommend Crash and Burn, I Want You, and Chained to You. But every track on both albums are so good. And Darren's first solo record, Spin, is really great as well.
his entire solo career is stronger the SG stuff, imo but I love both.
I especially love Secret Codes & Battleships...end to end fantastic album!
The fact that they are Huge part of my childhood and I can never get tired of their songs😍😫
Ah.. definetly in my top 10 90's playlist 👑 This band is a gem and it's a pitty they didn't last longer.
Your discription of that era in music is spot on👍I'm very very impressed with this reaction overall 💗
This album is SOOO good. Love it and this band.
To the Moon and black its my favorite song of S garden 2 as well
U have to React to : animal song , i want you
Crush and burn... tears of pearls ... 👌👍. And Roxette .... please
This is a perfect pop song.
Savage Garden ended around the new Millenium. The guitarist/songwriter Daniel Jones hated being a pop star and he walked away from the band at their height.
Singer Darren Hayes has continued a solo career ever since.
The 90s and 80s were an awesome time for music.
This is one of my absolute faves from savage garden! unfortunately its kinda been forgotten through the years. glad u liked it! love ur genuine reaction to it
I Want you, Truly Madly Deeply, I knew I Loved you. All 3 great songs. I recommend u react to all 3.
I’ve watched this reaction so many times and I can never get enough of it. Darren has the most beautiful voice. Especially live, I was listening to him singing away to himself on Instagram live this morning. He is just a beautiful soul with the ability to give you all the feels with his music and lyrics
One of the most underrated songs of all time. I feel bad you've missed out on it until this point. Thanks for awesome video & God bless!
They may have only made 2 albums, but it's a catalogue of nothing but great songs! "Gunning Down Romance", "Affirmation", "Mine", and "Two Beds and a Coffee Machine" are just a few of my favorites.
Amen. Gunning Down Romance would be amazing for him to react to.
Classic. This song never gets old. I love Savage Garden. I'm so glad you get to discover them!
I love Savage Garden...my wedding first dance song was "I knew I loved you" by Savage Garden. "I want you" was a really fun song by them. Loved their sound and his voice!
You might want to check out Darren Hayes as a solo artist. Savage Garden only released 2 albums before they broke up, but Darren is about to release his 5th solo album.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned but they got the name for their bands because Darren Hayes is an Anne rice fan. Lestat the vampire called his world a Savage Garden. Also rest in peace Anne.
That’s the Australian Orchestra at the end 😭 so beautiful…
This song actually gives me the feels. Atmospheric, and amazing voice, as you eluded to.
One of my favourite songs back in the days and yes, Darren Hayes had such a sensual unique voice. You should react to their song "Insatiable"..also one of my favourites.
I really love the way you break this song, the bands lyrics & narrative, & your appreciation perspective. Savage Garden we’re a band from Brisbane, Queensland the state of Australia 🇦🇺 1 of my ole time favourite bands & Daryn Hayes is such amazing humble singer & person 🎤💝
Literally every SG song is gold. Darren's solo work is also incredible and so worth a listen
Welcome to Australian Music.
We have so much more for you to hear.
Their first album is awesome,it'd be awesome to see reactions to truly madly deeply, break me shake me & I want you,all are amazing 🤘🎶🤘🎶🤘🎶
💖💖💖 your genuine reaction,I totally agree with ya about being broken,I was for years.Luckily I'm in a much brighter place now & life is pretty damn good 👍👍
I love how the song literally goes to space with that classical outro. '90s Classic.
Darren Hayes has the most awesome voice and the most beautiful lips 😄
Love their songs! "Animal song" and "The lover after me" are my favorites. But their two albuns are amazing.
Savage Garden are amazing. Darren Hayes’s voice is one of the best. Please do more Savage Garden and Darren Hayes reactions!
PLEASE do more Savage Garden! Even though they only put out two studio records, almost every song was amazing. Darren (the singer) went on to have a pretty successful solo career. Anyways, more Savage Garden please!! You'll love them even more. 🥰💜
Listen to Crash & Burn by them.
As much as you were pleasantly surprised by the song, I was pleasantly surprised by your deep reflections after you listened to it. "To The Moon & Back" is my favorite Savage Garden song and one of my favorite songs in general. You may want to check out the Australian music video version. I personally find it more fascinating.
Savage garden had other hits ,,truly madly deeply,, I knew I loved you
Great reaction! I love this song aswell. Other ones by them you could look at are I want you; I knew I loved you; Truly, madly, deeply. Their lead singer Darren Hayes also has a great solo song called Insatiable- his voice on that is incredible
I love Savage Garden 😍. Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷
The vocal. The instruments of this song is 🔥 🔥 🔥 it's like they're taking us to another space. Love your reaction so much!
Savage garden is my favorite band. Thanks for the review. This band needs to be brought back to the stage.
Three favorite songs. To the moon and back, crush and burn, Affirmation. And Darren Hayes song A Fear of Falling Under
His voice is a major source of my nostalgia. God I love being a millennial.
Savage Garden were brilliant, they are from Brisbane Australia originally. They only did two albums. Darren Hayes has an excellent voice and Daniel Jones guitar playing was great. They found world wide fame in the 90's.
Really really love the first two Savage Garden albums (Savage Gardens and Affirmations). Darren Hayes' voice is awesome, I love some of his solo stuff as well, like "Insatiable". After I typed this up I am so jazzed to look through all of those reactions!! Most people do not look through so much of their music - I am SO SO excited!!
You should check out Savage Garden "I Want You", "Affirmation" and "2 beds and a coffee machine". Savage Garden is very special!!
Absolutely fantastic takes me back
This has ALWAYS been one of my very faves of theirs! I knew every song, but this one captured me from the 1st note! Thanks for doing these!

Savage garden... The animal song was brilliant 👌👌👌
A classic. Bump for the algorithm.

They have some great hits from the 90's, but they are good. I like "Truly, Madly, Deeply" the best. Thanks for another great reaction
Literally the best reaction on UA-cam! Thank you for actually reacting to this gem. Always reminds me of my childhood. 5:26 just shows that the song is so catchy! Love it
Absolutely love Savage Garden and this is one of my favorites. Great reaction as always ❤❤❤❤❤
Darren is a brilliant song writer. You should check out Insatiable. That was one of his first solo tracks
Love love love, was australias best song of the year 1997 aria awards. The band received 10 arias that year..
I was OBSESSED with this song!!
My top three favourite of SG are:
1)Tears of pearls
2)I want you
3)You can still be free
Wishing you an incredible, rich journey, filled with wellness and blessings throughout 2022 and beyond!!
Love how you do what you do, Anton!!
Wish I had time to engage with everyone more frequently! I watch most every video you publish. Cheers, CB
And yes, SG is a band whose best songs and production embeds itself like candy earworms...love their work!
Thank you Chris, I appreciate it a lot brother 👊🏻
Also...I really appreciate your discussion on how music from the 90s was. I feel like you would really like Edwin McCain and Hootie and the Blowfish, if you're not familiar with them. Both have amazing songs.
Solitude by Edwin McCain!!!
@@anitashelton6093 Yes!!
My childhood highschool years in one song!! ❤this song 😍💕

Darren Hayes is magical
I was surprised they weren’t more popular overseas.
Savage garden is one of my favorite duo bands

One of my favorites from them, good memories ❤️
Yay Anton!!! You re-uploaded my favourite!! I really can’t wait to see more of your reactions to these guys!! 👏🏻❤️😄
Beautiful voice. ❤
A bit late, but I have loved this song since it came out. As a teenager I sat in my car after work with the song on, along with Matchbox, Pearl Jam, and others, and cried myself out before going home so my family wouldn't know how messed up I was. It really is powerful.
To your point about the difference between now and then I would say that in the 90s we had lost what we had been told was our grounding purpose in opposing Russia and we felt adrift. The music was looking inward and seeing all of the darkness and struggle, but there was always a feeling of hope, of almost grabbing the light that we could just see out of the corner of our eyes, themes of struggle, but a recognition that everyone was there, and that we could sit and hang with our friends for an hour, skateboarding, talking, whatever it was, and not mention our struggles, but draw strength from knowing everyone was there with similar feelings.
Today, with social media and the shift from in person to online interaction we have never been so isolated. The music today isn't searching, it's nihilistic. It thinks that it has found the truth, that there is nothing to seek and that self-centered hedonism is the only enlightened path.
Strangely, I feel Taylor Swift is the perfect example of that transition. Her early stuff was hopeful, narrative and bright. About love and relationships and coming together. Slowly her themes changed to temporary happiness, self-focus and wealth. It's really depressing to go back to her first album and realize that she has become everything the villains in those songs represented.
Sorry for the novel, but I broody right now and watching people experience these songs for the first time always buoys me up.
My top 3 would be Affirmation, Crash and Burn and I Want You. And I don’t think you’ve done those yet. Mind you though.. Hold Me, The Lover After Me, and Two Beds and a Coffee Machine are also up there for me as well.
you would have loved our time growing up 🙂
