    Great job describing "default". I wrote down how you described it in an earlier vid.
    What the dog learns first
    What he likes the most
    What he will do the best
    What he will revert to when under stress

    The greatest part of this vid is at 2:45!! The longer you train and the more K9 teams you are responsible for especially in police service dogs you stay humble and will always learn problem solving techniques for handlers and K9s to improve performance on the street.

    I was recently hit by a car, crossing the street in the crosswalk had the light with my dog. Busy intersection next to a highway here in NYC. I managed some how to throw the dog out of the way before being hit. Car hit me I broke his windshield was then thrown breaking wrist and road rash up and down my leg numerous injuries to my body. I managed to get up. Had to being I was now in on coming traffic. My dog is now off leash across the intersection. I recalled him in this chaos no problem. The driver is now freaking out. The dog sees the threat. I after recalling him I had to call him off a potential bite. Call 911 get control of my dog and control the situation. Thats why you train. Its "Default'.
    Doesn't matter if you have a pet or working dog. It's about control and composer under pressure and that also applies to people. Always prepare for the unexpected. Always stay focused. I'm assuming the person who hit me was distracted. My training saved me and my dogs training saved him.
    🙏🙏

      @hans-alpinek9real You're welcome, Hans.
      Sorry for the delayed response. I'm still recovering. Fractured my wrist, and it's my dominant hand. Therapy, etc. The dog is good, though, lol.

    my dog,when I adopted him at 6 yrs, I had to coax him to play. I got him to bite a stick and wrestle a little.
    Then I tried it at night (and he is always much more alert and ready to hunt at night), and he was much more active with wrestling the stick and then he wanted to come UNDER the stick. I quickly decided to take him back inside and think about that.

      Maybe when transitioning from sport to protection, do it at night. :)

      The collar is an excellent tool. Learn how to use it before using it on your dog. There are excellent videos online.
