I'm new to Smoky Mountain Knife Works, just placed my third order earlier today. I was already extremely happy with my orders and the fast shipping but seeing this video makes me want to spend my knife money here with all these good people.
TC, wonderful vid, you just personalized SMKW in a way you couldn't even imagine. Smooth operation. Behind the scenes. See you at Blade show brother- blessings.
GOOD ONE T.C‼️‼️ I was an inventory manager for over a decade. I can't imagine getting a pallet of knives to rec . 👍👍🔪 😂 Seriously, workstations looked neat and orderly, lil bit of personalization. I'm glad I got to see that. 👍👍
Much appreciated video. Love seeing the whole operation. The office peeps are pretty and all but just like in football, it's the people in the trenches that makes the place run and gets the win!
Reminds me of my old job. Warehousing can be weirdly relaxing work, not physically, but in the sense you know exactly what you're supposed to do and nobody bothers you (unless you work at Amazon or something) and you're just left to do your damn job.
Spent some time in an Amazon order fulfillment warehouse. Quite a different operation for quite a different scale. For example, the pickers stand at one station and robots bring the bins to them. Think of a giant Roomba picking up one of those shelves and bringing it over, and spinning it around so the item is right in front of the picker. Then that Roomba disappears into the shadows and another one stops in front of the picker. The most amazing part is the predictive sourcing they do. Again, obviously they have hundreds and hundreds of warehouses. But they use their own cloud computing platform to predict how many pocket knives should be stocked at the Knoxville warehouse based on a prediction of who is ordering what. And that prediction might be different for their Newark warehouse. That’s how they can do next day or same day delivery. Well, that’s part of it....
@@SMKWcom As well you should. Those folks are one of the main reasons I’ve spent several thousand dollars with you over the past couple years. You’ll find a complementary comment on your call takers elsewhere in this comment section. I don’t envy you the headaches of running a business these days. I’m glad you’ve got manufacturers and a chain that support you, and some loyal, hardworking folks under that roof. When you benefit, we benefit. That’s the way capitalism is supposed to work!
Cool that you found out how warehouse logistics worked in the 1980's lol ....... I have been coding software for stock management and order processing for the last 20 years and can tell you a modern warehouse like this is fully automized nowadays and operated by 3-5 people.
it would me interesting if you compare the cost of producing different knives to the price it is sold. I can't believe that a chunck of metal may be sold for 400$
There are many places that sell chunk metal, even rolled or finished. It is the time, skills, and work put into the different steels that make the cost be higher.
Some of the nicest people on the planet are the folks who answer the phone at SMKW. They are the unsung heroes of your operation.
we agree 💯
Hero’s? 🤨
I love how a plan comes together.
We all need to start making more A Team references in daily life
Now I want to place an order. No idea so many people involved. Thank you SMKW. I really love shopping in your store too. ☺️
Thank you!
I just ordered a new zippo last night. Thanks to all the hard working folks in the warehouse; I appreciate you all.
Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy your new Zippo!

Amazon warehouses are huge! We are still a family-owned company and like to show off some of the people that make it all work 👍

Awesome behind the scenes. Did i miss the adding of stickers in the orders?😊
Stickers are added at random and for free with web orders
We’ve got some new ones coming very soon! They were just ordered!
Hello SMKW, To all who make things possible, "keep up the good work"! Ya'll be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 🙏😇👊
Thanks for watching Randy!
Always wanted to see how things happen in Santa’s Workshop 😊
We call see the north pole, always thought of it more of Willy Wonkys though
I hope Ricky Simpson of Lexington enjoys his Benchmade Mini Claymore and SMKW Promo Pocket Sharpener. That's a purdy knife
We hope he loves it!
Cool!!! Bbbbuuuutt that box didn't get any SMKW stickers put in it ....... oh, I see now,......it must be the package you keep sending to my house.
Stickers are put in for free and at random
We’ve got some new ones on the way very soon!
Very cool!
Thanks for watching!
This what i been wanting to see for a long time. I always thought orders were shipped from the main showroom.
On any giving day there can be thousands of people stopping into the showroom so we wouldn't have any room to pack as well 👍
Nice can't wait to order some more knives!!
🙌🙌🙌
Awesome
🙌🙌🙌

It’s like my days working overnight at Target. Stock and back stock products. This video could be called as day and life of online knife orders.
Thanks for watching!
I feel like I need to order something now. lol...
After shooting the video we did too!
I’m sure Ricky Simpson from NC doesn’t want his Benchmade order posted on UA-cam
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We know Ricky and he is cool with it as long as we don't tell his wife 🤣
Amazing 😅

Its nice; though tremendous overhead
Thanks for watching

Very cool. Now we know that every order is triple checked. But who was the employee of the month?
Changes monthly! 🤣
That was fun! Amazing how big the backside is!
It is huge! The showroom is 108,00 sq ft and the warehouse is even bigger!

These folks should know how much your competitors thank them.

You do overseas shipping???
At this time we do not ship internationally
