    instead of row you should label aisle and introduce left and right positions for pick path optimization. and within an aisle you clearly label sides with small flags that attach to the racking. this is all manual but large clients can use the virtual warehouse to guide employees (smart glasses)

    Thanks for the clarification, what I was looking for. What I would love to see is the order of how labels should be placed to guide the picker through the rows based off the WMS sorting, so the picker is not back tracking. For example, if I have 4 bays in each row, and I have 4 rows. Row 1&2 and 3&4 are back to back. They would be called Bay, 01, 02, 03, 04 for row 1, then once I am at the end of row 1 at bay 4, my WMS is going to sort, should I then label row 2 bay 04, 03, 02, 01? or should I label row 2, bay 05, 06, 07, 08? Then start row 3 bay 01, 02, 03, 04 and row 4 bays 05, 06, 07, 08?

    Thank you so much for such a wonderful and educational video. It is so nicely explained and assisting me to label my warehouse. I, however, had a question regarding bins. In my warehouse setting, my bin is one big area in a bay per level. Can I name the bin A for instance on level 1, then the same area B on level 2 etc. Then in bay 2, again A for level 1 and B for level 2 etc. Please guide me. From Nairobi, Kenya

    Thank you for the video, I need some help, I hope you can provide few advices. I’ve recently started a new job as inventory coordinator for a small company. They haven’t done the inventory management ever before.
    We have a stock room located in the company apartment to which we call it as a maintenance room. The company business is mostly for renovating apartments. So for that whatever the materials are need have been stocked in the room. The materials are ordered when they needed, it’s not like they have set any reorder point for it because of course they don’t do renovations on daily basis it’s totally up to the situations. But now I’ve been told that I need to totally restructure the inventory management. I’ve to start from the scratch and reorganize the stock room and also apply labelling to them.
    The challenges that I’m facing are 1- how to design or layout the stock room.
    2- how should I categorize the departments and subcategories the items in that category.
    3- if I plan to use barcode scanning what kind of things we need to have on that barcode label.
    4- as it is going to be restructure how often I should perfume counts, and while performing should I count whole inventory or department wise.
    5- what step should the guys in maintenance room should do so that we as a team are on the same page when it comes to stock accuracy.
    6- we have somewhat of 5-6 categories consist of plumbing, electric, civil materials, and few liquid materials. We have somewhere of290 skus overall at the moment. And I’m pretty stressed out how I can create a well organize and smooth flowing inventory management and room. As I don’t have any lead or manager above me, I’m the only one who has few knowledge about it.
    Your reply is highly appreciated :)

      This is quite a challenge. What you need at this point is an assessment from a consultant. Where is the business located? Depending on the city I could recommend a consultant that assist you or maybe we could do that ourselves.

We have an issue with open bins, we are retailer and we have like 12000 different products and our costumers purchase only a few of the box, leaving an open box or bin... The issue we are having is to identify these opened bins easily. Do you have any thoughts on how I could tide up my system?

      In whatever software you are doing, you should be able to put additional product in a second bin by scanning the product and scanning the bin. The software should be agnostic to what bin the product goes into. It should just track it.

    • @Laceupsolutions
      @Laceupsolutions  3 роки тому +3

      Great question and I apologize about the delay. The only way to do this is to register each of these boxes as a bin location, adhere a label to each one, and track them within your warehouse with a WMS. Manually, you would have to assign an ID to each box, adhere the ID to the box, and manually document the whereabouts of the box. This is difficult. I would invest in a cost-effective system that can do this for you.
