The Old Man was already a scumbag in the first movie, but was less blatant about it than in Robocop 2. When he chastised Dick Jones about calling ED-209's malfunction a 'glitch' it was not because he was shocked that it caused the death of a human being. It was because the delays caused by that 'glitch' would prevent OCP from meeting the contractual deadlines for ED-209, costing millions of dollars in interest payments.
Um, I think you have that backwards, The old man was more Blatant about his heel tendencies in the second movie not less. In the first he wasn't as big of a Dick as Jones tended to be. But he still cared more about presentation and how the mess his employee's faulty product would bring to the company after the debacle in his boardroom than how a man just died right before everyone's eyes; his own included.
The point is they were all evil, Old Man included, just in different ways. Even Bob Morton. Bob's only saving grace is that he cared if his products worked. That's it. Real suits aren't too far removed from these execs.
Donald Johnson was underrated in Robocop 2. That fight at the end is badass at the end of Robocop 2. I also didn't like how he was able to go see his Family in the remake a problem among many others in the remake. The fact he can't go back is the tragedy. In fact in Robocop Prime Directives Robocop even tells his Son what kind of Father could I have been.
Funny how the original Robocop sort of predicted the kind of world we ended up living in, with corporations pretty much running everything and us constantly living with the threat of violence thanks to mass shooting that are almost an everyday occurrence. Also could you do some more anime villains like Frieze, Danzo, Pain, or Lyle Rourke from Atlantis. I would like to hear your take on them.
Exactly,my friend. Everyone is being treated like a Product just like Officer 👮♀️ Alex J. Murphy meanwhile the White House is a big federal corporation intent on making money just like OCP.@@shawnswint1521
14:38 Seeing as the New Robocop Game Rogue City as Cannon, I Won't Give any Spoilers, But lets just say that in the Game, We see What happens to the Old Man.
The problem with the introduction of ED209 in the first film was that they loaded it with live freaking ammo! Why???? Maybe as a safety precausion in case - I dunno - a glitch happening? I know, I know... Verhoven logic!
Not Fully Decent. Remember How he was in Robocop 3 When He Chastises Sgt. Reed About How he Should Focus on his own Family Instead of the Families that OCP Were going to Forcibly Evict from their Homes.
Well he wasn’t a saint to be sure, but in the second one he was the only voice of reason to say “hey maybe we shouldn’t make our future robocops out of *MUERDEROUS PSYCHOPATHS*
They were evil but also equally stupid. They knew in the first movie to give Alex his face so that when he saw it, he could relate the face with his memories, even though he wasn't supposed to have them they still did it for that reason, yet when we get to R2 and their failed attempts at a new Robocop they removed their "donors" faces and all of them went nuts and killed themselves. Possibly due in part to the disassociation between mind and body like the first one that pulls off it's mask to reveal it's skull then shoots itself in the head. So why'd they do it with Murphy with that specific reason in mind only to then decide not to do it for the previous ones? Did they just think they had solved the issue of donors not having memories?
This kind of corporate evil is very underrated
Though it's on Par with a Company like Weyland-Yutani from the Alien Franchise.

“I had a guaranteed military sale with the ED209! Renovation program, spare parts for 25 years, who cares if it worked or not?”
Old Man- "Dick, YOU'RE FIRED!!!!"
Robocop-"Thank you!" Shoots Dick Jones out of a window and out of a high-rise.
Robo gets the Thumbs up from Johnson in the 1st Film & While Johnson was the Voice of Reason in the 2nd Film , He turns heel in the 3rd Film.
Please do Otto Octavius from Spider-Man 2.
Do the Evil mars based corporation from Total Recall next since same bad guy in almost same role is in it...
Great/accurate video.
Excellent breakdown
Problem, reaction, solution...

Excellent video thank you very much
If ED209 is ever chasing you, just take the stairs. 😂
Lol

Now a day’s,all corporations are Villains.
I Couldn't Agree More. Especially seeing as Now a Days they are Raising Prices on Everything.

Meh, it's happened before IRL.
Since you're doing Robocop villains how about Clarence Bodiger.
Hmm I’m not sure if he has enough depth for a video
Do Nizam from prince of persia
What I dont understand about the second movie is how they want us to believe an upstart teenaged brat could be a convincing villain for Robocop.
I would like to say the Johnson is the only decent human being in that company

Not so evil like Disney executives.
Robocop is great while part 2 and 3 were terrible.
Weyland Yutani runs everything in my future.
