It seemed to me that the new Robocop was either an American company at least partially based in China, a Chinese company with offices in America or an outsourced company. The one thing I always wondered was if China was still a communist country in new Robocop's timeline.
Bennie Saying Things hey there is a fantastic channel I love called Oliver Harper which discusses movies. Type up robocop commentary (or podcast). Thank me later well worth a listen discusses the point you made.
Nowadays, OCP is the only fictional group that could exist in real life. That is something I like from these films: they were timeless and with a message for the future. Also 3:01: that's what I call Agressive Proposals!
There are a few things wrong here, the 209 series was not scrapped after the board room demo, it was sold around the world and even appears later in the same film.
Excellent channel! Here's some topic recommendations for future episodes if ever possible. I'm sure you have your own and some of these may overlap but even so, I'm just looking forward to more content haha 1. Nakatomi Corporation | Die Hard 2. Wallace Corporation | Blade Runner 2049 3. Wayne Enterprises | The Dark Knight Trilogy 4. Smith's Grove Sanitarium | The "Halloween" Series 5. Cyberdyne Systems | The "Terminator" Series 6. Omega Sector | True Lies 7. Resources Development Administration (RDA) | Avatar 8. Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) | Star Wars
Also, not sure if I am right, but your voice sounded a bit hoarse at some points. The Orators of The Templin Institute do amazing work, but please, make sure to take care of yourself, and take the time needed to rest!
Robocop got parts of the future right. Healthcare is complete for profit, Privatization in some aspects of prison, Detroit imploded. We never did get the Star Wars Peace Platform though.
Since we are talking about megacorporations. I think is a matter of time until we see a templin video covering the rise and fall of the buy n large corporation from the Pixar universe
It was just at the beginning of major privatization. This was way before Detroit imploded and the basically eliminated the city government (i.e. privatized), although details are sparse.
@@MrTohawk| They did but not for the Empire in Warhammer Fantasy. The Imperium is like the Empire but the state troopers have twice the balls of the guardsmen imho.

It's maddening how some people just don't seem to understand y a Expensive Weapons System has part's built in various factory's all over the US. Drain the Swamp was a nice "Promise" among many others but far to late
Have you heard of "Omni-Tek"? Its a faction for the "first scifi mmorpg" from 2000 called Anarchy Online. I'm fairly certain OCP served as the reference for Omni-Tek.
I’m betting the US Government wanted to Bust the OCP monopoly, but couldn’t due to the fact that the military would lose out on a necessary RnD contractor.
good ones are: CSAT or FIA (ArmA 3) FOXHOUND (Metal Gear) Team Rainbow (Tom Clancy's Universe [preferably the combined universe presented in the Ubisoft games]) Any of the 3 factions from Planetside 2

Thank you for your cooperation. Good night.
Prime Directives:
"Serve the public trust"
"Protect the innocent"
"Uphold the law"
Directive 4: classified
Do not oppress OCP members.
Syntax error: directives compute to irrational figure.

Robocop shuts down after breaking directive 4.
The only real mistake the company made was outfitting experimental robots with live ammunition upon initial activation.
Listen Bob, you are still not getting that bonus!
I'd buy that for a dollar!
It's way more expensive to buy dummy rounds though, and really what were the chances that the robot would actually kill somebody?
Bennie Saying Things hey there is a fantastic channel I love called Oliver Harper which discusses movies. Type up robocop commentary (or podcast). Thank me later well worth a listen discusses the point you made.
But they had done so well in Tehran!

@knightjedi666 Already done.

I’m Robocop...
Wait, no! That was Batman...
I WORK FOR DICK JONES
Now we need a bio on the brave Alex Murphy, AKA Robocop.
"Nice shootin' son, what's your name?"
"Murphy."
I'd buy that for a dollar!
Lies again? King Of Church King Power
I always find it hilarious to look back at the old robocop movies and see how unflinchingly violent they were
Fun fact: EA Entertainment was part of OCP before breaking off following the latter’s collapse.
After this, a Dossier on Robocop would be perfect.
That seems... terrifyingly accurate.
I would love to see a Dossier on Alex Murphy/Robocop.
I also support a Robocop dossier. Make it so.
Same here.
Go for it!
*Insert generic affirmation of making a purchase for one USD*
LOL. I love that line!
It's also a scary line in light of the real life rise of reality TV.
I'D BUY THAT FOR ONE CURRENCY UNIT
I would acquire this for a singular unit of currency equivalent to one hundred cents!
I would acquire this for a single republic credit!
"I'd buy that for a Republic Credit."
Watto: "No, you not."
Can you do an episode on the umbrella corporation from resident evil
chris Green
Those guys are pretty interesting though they screwed up by not shutting down their biological projects.
PLEASE make a video about the Umbrella Corporation!!!!! 🙏 Remember to talk about the UBCS, USS, and Hunk! 😁
think I asked for umbrella corp in another video.
Nowadays, OCP is the only fictional group that could exist in real life. That is something I like from these films: they were timeless and with a message for the future.
Also 3:01: that's what I call Agressive Proposals!
OCP was a shit show of corruption and stupidity. They would have fallen apart in real life.
@@xq8152 tell that to the Rockefellers, or Twitter for that matter.
OCP: the only company whose business ideals are so blunt, they use actual bullets instead of blanks.
This is the first time I heard somebody to narrate the story of Robocop 3 in a good way.
There are a few things wrong here, the 209 series was not scrapped after the board room demo, it was sold around the world and even appears later in the same film.
American Hospitals and Prisons for Profit in the future? That seems like a mistake the film made, that's already been a thing for a while now!
It's an 80s film, about a destroyed Detroit ..omg it's true
Ha ha how original.

Now that you mention it she's been doing A LOT of material lately here and for other projects. A well deserved break should be in order.
I do notice that the Robocop: Prime Directives saga NEVER seems to get mentioned in workups, anlyses or examinations of the Robocop history.
I'd love if the Institute would make a video about the Locust Horde, or Coalition of Ordered Governments. You know, from Gears of War!
This weyland yutani, Tyrell Corp or umbrella Corp are my go to big tech companies I would love to work at.

It's so strange. About a year ago I marathoned the original movies+ the reboot. I was nostalgic about this time last year, and then this vid popped up
Templin really shines with this one. Great job.
Funny how Detroit today has been subject to severe privatization. Life imitates art?
That problem was present to some degree back then too, wasn't it?
It was just at the beginning of major privatization. This was way before Detroit imploded and the basically eliminated the city government (i.e. privatized), although details are sparse.
Lol, if Detroit was a private city it would probably not be nearly as shitty as it's today
@@lonestarasshole584 That's the irony here, that it WAS privatized, almost to the degree in the movie.
