Great program. I have been using it for several months and like it very much. I was wondering if there is a way to use the spacebar to start/stop play when editing? I have not been able to find any way to do it. Thanks.
Hi Steve, thank you for using DSP-Quattro. Strange problem, the space bar already sends the command to start/stop play during editing, it should work... Is there any plug-in window in front of the Project main window in that moment? Please write to me at support@dsp-quattro.com specifying the MacOS version and localization for better assistance. Thanks!
Thank you for posting! I'm learning the interface through these videos. But I have yet to find a user manual on line. I'm looking for key command short cuts. specifically zooming. also would like to be able to click on the time line and jump to that spot. as it is now one has to drag the play head to the desired spot.
Hi, thank you for using DSP-Quattro! At moment there is a short user manual, it is into the user area, with the basics about using DSP-Quattro 5. You are right, the full reference manual still need to be completed, I'll release it asap. About key command short cuts, specifically zooming, please take a look to the Commands menu on the top of the audio file editor window, you will see all the shortcuts near to the commands to zoom in/out and all the others. Also the mouse wheel is fully supported for zooming in/out and waveform scrolling. About moving the playhead, just click on the waveform, DSP-Quattro will move there... :) for any questions, or if you need assistance, please always write to me at support@dsp-quattro.com.
My Feedback about the product: 1-I Can't move a Plugin to one channel to another. 2- Limited to 8 Fx inserts per channel *Not enough since a mastering chain needs a lot of inserts today because we use plugins sometimes for minor adjustments. 3- Don't have an export function for the Master Bus *So i found a way to get over the limited number of insert Fx on the Master chain by using both Channel inserts and Master Bus Inserts, but i can't export the Master processing both chains, so im stuck again. 4-No Automation *This feature is much needed today , since sometimes you want to process some parameters in mastering .I really need sometimes to get my limiter to sit more relaxed on the breaks, and have him banging in the chorus. We need that for more control over lots os possibilites and problems we might need to solve in mastering . 5-CD isn't a thing anymore *Its cool we can arranje the tracks in order to fit like an album and BURN it to a CD , but CD isn't a thing anymore, people don't burn CDS anymore and i think the software could have some features in order to get the tracks for Streaming services formats, like Itunes and Spotify! A Built in LUFS meter and correlation meter would be really aprecciated as well. If i could have all that , DPS Quattro will be my main Mastering Software for sure.
I agree with your comments for improvements, but people still burn and press CD's. Maybe not your people, but my people still do. Short run CD's are still happening and viable.
Hello there. I am testing dsp quattro. I like it so far. One thing i wish to do. I want to have only 1 dedicated folder with mastering specific plugins and i want quattro to „see“ only inside this folder and not show me all my plugins. Is there a way to choose this? I cant find a way yet
Hi Saar, thank you for writing and for your interest in DSP-Quattro! DSP-Quattro asks to MacOS the list of (64 bits) AudioUnit plug-ins installed on your system, it is not possible to let you to put a subset of your plug-ins somewhere so DSP-Quattro see only those but not the others, everything must go thru MacOS which knows everything about AU plug-ins which you had installed. I could add a plug-in manager into DSP-Quattro, to let you to decide which plug-in to list and which plug-in to hide, plug-ins to choose among the complete list which MacOS publishes to all hosts asking for the available AU plug-ins. It is good point, I'll investigate about how to do that in the next future. Thanks again!
@@stefanodaino Very nice. Thanks for the Info. I have two ways i do it. 1) In Ableton i created a Folder Named " Custom Plugins Folder". This contains Aliases of all the plugins i want (works only wit Vst aliases) in Subfolders "Eq" "Comp" categories etc etc. So you do a normal "scan" through Ableton and its there. And it works flawlessly for 2 years now :-) 2) When i used Ozone however it would not "be fooled" wit hthe Aliases folder so i made a second Vst folder named Vst2. I then Copy-Pasted all plugins in there and then told Ozone to look only in Vst2. This too worked :-) . In case this info helps . Peace
@Saar Dean You are right, but what you are describing using Ableton is valid when hosting VST, not when hosting Audio Unit plug-ins. For VSTs, the host scans a physical VST folder so you have the possibility to setup custom plug-in lists by yourself. It is not so for AudioUnit plug-ins, in this case the host asks to MacOS the list of the AU plug-ins installed on your system, you have not the control on that...
@@stefanodaino i understand. To be honest i prefer Vst and if it would be possible i woul use only one of the "two worlds". In the Plugin world i would prefer if everything was Vst. I don`t like thes whole AU and then OS restrictions that come with it as in this case. Thank you for your reply
