Hi my son and I met you a couple weeks ago at the Tangled tackle, you were so kind thankyou so much,, my son was super excited to meet you. We ended up getting a 20 pound king and a 10 pounder. My number guess is 76
569. We were up to Manistee for week two weeks ago boated 35 kings over 20lb .. running 6 rod spread ... master angler steelhead nice coho. One of the best trips I've had in 40 years. Seen your boat couple times. I'm like hey. We caught one king around 20lb had little small eggs wasn't even going to spawn this year. Amazing fishing
Hey Chris.. been busy with grandkids.. took them fishing off Keweenaw Peninsula. They caught the biggest lake trout ever for them. We are out in Wyoming right now bringing them home and I’m looking forward to get back home to fish.. my hopefully luck number is 413!
Haven’t started using leadcore yet, I wanted to know if I choose a 10 color setup can I put out 5 colors for shallower fish or will that mess the leadcore up by the pressure of the tip of the rod on the line?
@@gary7543 so I take it, there’s one rod with 100 feet of lead, 200 feet of lead and 300 feet of lead, then 100 feet of copper 200 feet of copper etc. etc., there is no way to run these double up with one rod, for instance, running a 300 lead Core set up as a 100 foot lead core. You have to have one rod and reel for each, is that correct?
@@stevendavis9102 you could always splice in a couple feet of mono to clip on your board for lead but I have a reel for each set of colors. I wouldn’t recommend doing that with copper.
great show. 792 for the draw. I do have a question. When setting out copper or lead, how much backer do you let out before clipping the board to it? Thanks
Copper is so confusing when compared results to others. This captain states sink rate of 6ft per 10 yards. There are 30 10 yard sections in 300 yards. That would mean 30 ×6 should achieve 180 BUT then says a 300 hits in 60ft. 60÷300=.2. So, .2 ft depth for every 10 yards. 300 yards ÷ 10 = 30 10 yard sections. 30 (10 yard sections) × 2ft = 60ft depth. Now, my confusion is I run copper, measured by my line counter (ft) and put 200 ft on my reel. That 200 hangs up in 40-50ft, speed and bait dependent.. that would match the .2 ft per foot out, or, 2ft per 10, but a big difference between yards and ft. Confusion reigns
John your math is correct but you misunderstood what I meant when I said a "300 copper". When we run a 300 copper that means we are running 300 feet of copper, not yards. So, 300 feet of copper is 100 yards and 6 feet of depth per 10 yards equals 60 feet of depth for a 300 copper. But I'll make this even more simple for you. The easiest way to remember what depth your coppers will be approximately running is to multiply the amount of copper you are running by 2 and then remove the last number. For example 300 copper multiplied by 2 is 600. Remover the last zero and you have 60. A 225 copper times two is 450 and if you remove the last zero you have 45 feet of depth.
Thanks, Chris!!! 303 for the drawing. Really enjoy watching along. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Ricky that's super nice of you to do this too!!
Thank you Chris for all the great info. Your channel has been an awesome resource. My pick is 68

Not sure I understand the question, but attach them to the backing.
Thanks Mr Pierce. Really a great bunch of people on here. #499 please.

You want to let out all of the core.
For a copper line 45lb...how long of a line set up would you say I need to achieve 100ft dive depth?
👍👍👍👍👍👍

Nice job on the videos
Ie: You don’t connect your boards right to the lead core or the copper correct? Does that go on the backing of your line?
Yes, on your backing
