Would also recommend a drop or two of pure lanoline one the ball. Makes it super-smooth.

I shoot off of a shadowtech O311G with a Sunway Foto ballhead and a pig saddle (the heavier less expensive version of the hog saddle). After this video, I will revisit how I run my ball head.
On a side note, The O311G is a ROCK SOLID tripod I have zero issues with. It was under $200 and just works. Its only downfall is its nowhere near as light as any carbon fiber tripod.

mdt xrs rifles are totally nose heavy since xrs has literally zero weight in the buttstock. this presents additional challenge from a balance standpoint. regardless of pivotal issues you mentioned re tripod.

I had to get the XRS steel length of pull spacer, that helped a lot.
