- There are different versions of Alduin in the game. The one in this video is the version you fight during the main storyline in Sovngarde.
The one you see in the past during Alduin's Bane has 6905 health, but his damage output is only a fraction of the one in Sovngarde, so I chose the latter for the fights.

if they work with a strategy where they don't spam and plan to stagger their enemy together they will be one of the hardest to beat

I just feel so bad for the fact that the Ebony Warrior loses his fight the same way he would against Karstaag which is getting stunlocked to death. Shouts take so long for players to use and the Greybeards spam them, like it is nothing. The Greybeards also have to spam one of the most damaging ones (the fire breath shout) and they also do not bother bringing a physical weapon to their fights. It was never assumed that the player would fight against them or the Greybeards would fight against other enemies. Arngeir was therfore programmed to be the highest levelled NPC of the entire game (with a level cap) before Miraak was introduced. If a player would fight against the entire group of Greybeards the result would be the same as the result against the Ebony Warrior. Being immune against staggering is a requirement against a group of enemies that do nothing but staggering you.
Yeah, I wasn't even sure if I should include the Ebony Warrior round into the final video, since I'm not a fan of stagger spam. But I found it entertaining to watch anyway. 🤷 Without that, he would have destroyed the Greybeards in no time, similarly to how Karstaag did.
That's one of the few advantages of Heavy Armor over Light Armor. Combined with Party Snacks meditation, you can reduce ragdoll effects by 75%
I remove my cool down and destroy them in evil playthroughs. Lore accurate dovakin playthroughs are fun!

Fantastisch. Absolut fantastisch. The fight against the Ebony Warrior was a real roller-coaster ride. I’d thought he’d wipe them all out with ease, but man, I was wrong. The way it was an uphill battle for the Greybeards, chipping away slowly at the Ebony Warrior added a lot of tension to it.
On another note, I think the Greybeards should have some healing spell, even mediocre one. Their health doesn’t really make up for the damage they take from stronger enemies.
Danke sehr! 😁 The Ebony Warrior battle was pretty one-sided because of the constant stagger, which I'm not a big fan of. But the whole thing was still pretty fun to watch, so I included it into the video.
Fair point. 🤔 They're very prone to any attacks. On the other hand, I don't think they're really supposed to fight in the game anyway. Unless the player attacks them, but then they'll keep you incapacitated with Ice Form. 😂

Glad they got the dub against EW, without a wide space he cant beat them. Surprised Arngeir lost to Dragon Priest though, and Alduin was unlucky by not using his meteor shower earlier.
Being able to back up was a big advantage for the Greybeards, for sure! Arngeir was a bit of a disadvantage against the Dragon Priest; less health, no magic resistance, and his shout having a short but crucial cooldown. Alduin definitely could have won if he had used his shout earlier and/or more often. I did a bunch of test battles, and for some reason, he only rarely used it against the Greybeards. This was one of the few recordings where he did at all 🤷

Yes, I did remove the invincibility. Otherwise, there would be no point of any NPC battles with him 😄

Yeah, I have no idea why Alduin acts like that. In some rounds, he just never uses his meteor shower, so recording any videos with him is pretty frustrating. 🤷

@@elric5371 Maybe. His meteor shower barely does any damage, and is mostly about stagger. I have no idea why he sometimes doesn't use it. 🤷
The Ebony Warrior only switches his bow if his opponents are far away or if he somehow can't reach them. He usually tries to go for melee otherwise 😄
The graybeards don’t got really any defense or often. The only thing they got is shouts and with a ward those shouts can be countered. All shouts are is magic.
They just shout their enemies to death which is kind of overkill because they don’t really got a cool down like the player does
@@nightmaremaster7731 They are very unbalanced indeed, which is why I rarely use them in my videos. The way they killed the Ebony Warrior was kinda bad, but I kept it in because it's funny 😂
Honestly, I think Bethesda could’ve done a lot more with the shouting on Skyrim, creating a skill tree unique to the main character on my games I hardly ever use shout they take too long to cool down and they’re kind of week. In my opinion there are spells that are just as powerful or more powerful than shout and they don’t have a cool down
@@nightmaremaster7731 For real! I don't use shouts a lot either because of the horrendous cooldown. Mostly unrelenting force because the effect is great and it recharges okay-ish. But things like fire/frost breath or even storm call... nah 😂

@@lSlendermaster a fast dodge against shouts and 3-4 potions of restore magicka, and Arngeir would be done. Look the damage Esbern did him with only 5 fireballs from distance. And fireballs are faster than fire breath shout

@@Randomperson-rv6sy The armor doesn't offer any magic resistance, and the blade can easily get disarmed. I've had a round where Arngeir removed all her weapons one by one 😂
So Skyrim doesnt need a Dragonborn.
The lore is quite different from the gameplay mechanics. Although during the story, Dragonrend would still be required 😄

When I check in UA-cam Studio, it shows me 189 likes and a single dislike. If I watch in another browser with an extension that shows dislikes (by default, I can't see them), I see something like 500 dislikes. I suppose it's a bunch of bots. 🤷 Thanks though!

I genuinely did not know until this video that Delphine and Esbern only had a max level of 30.
That's honestly really sad.
In fact, looking at their stats, even if you gave Delphine her Blades Armor it would have only *moderately* helped since her Heavy Armor skill is actually lower than her Light Armor skill and doesn't even scale with her level.
Though I'm not sure why she doesn't use her Blades sword here instead of that dagger.
However, credit where its due, their fighting styles complement each other.
Delphine is the "tank" who can stay alive for, suprisingly, a fair amount of time.
While Esbern is just out here *zoomin* like he snorted Moon Sugar, while using a suprisingly solid array of spells to do a ton of damage.
Again, its just a shame that their max level is so low that they get outclassed statwide by generic bandits not even halfway through the game.
Yup, a lot of unique NPCs only scale up to level 30. The Blades are really not good. I remember them getting totally destroyed by the Forsworn at Karthspire. 😆 Although that's a pretty tough location.
I assume Delphine just doesn't have another weapon in her inventory by default. But you're right, even different gear wouldn't have made much of a difference here, especially against Arngeir.

Yeah, Karthspire, the Thalmor Embassy and Mzulft are unironically the hardest parts of the vanilla game. Albeit for different reasons.

Have you ever had any luck with Werewolves? They are absolutely horrible to put in battles since for some reason their attacks have knockback which can pretty much cripple any opponent that can be ragdolled. I've also seen them flat out refuse to fight certain enemies like the Falmer, they just run away.
I'm actually going to upload a Werewolf episode soon! Yeah, I know what you mean. It takes quite a while to get a recording that is somewhat good to watch. The issue with them running away is something I still haven't been able to resolve. Confidence and aggression settings seem to have no impact. Funny thing, the same happens with Werebears, and I'm going to have them fight... but they both run away from each other. 😂 I'm not sure why that is. I only noticed that it happens after they take a large amount of damage with a single hit, or they're low on health. 🤷
@@lSlendermaster I have the same issue in Fallout 4 which is the worst game to do enemy battles in, Deathclaws will always run from Behemoths unless you increase their scale which is super weird. I am also not a fan of annoying glitchy AI where they just stand there and stare at their opponent as their hp bar gets destroyed. My ideal fight is when they just hit eachother relentlessly without pause lol.
@@AuXiiLia I haven't played any Fallout games, but your pain is very relatable, and I completely agree! I've had the same AI issue with lots of opponents, especially Dragon Priests, and also Karstaag. Which is a bummer, because both are really cool to watch. 🤷 Making enemy battles isn't as easy as one might think, right? 😂

@@lSlendermaster Dragon Priests are the absolute worst, I am not sure why they constantly do those pointless taunt animations. My guess is Bethesda thought they were OP so they gave them a free opening. Also yeah it is a reference to Borderlands 2 haha, thought it sounded cool. Btw Dragon Priests have a tendency to get stuck on walls a lot, I recommend using the arena where you fight the 2 dragons in Dawnguard DLC, that's where I always did my battles lol.
@@AuXiiLia I think those and many other animations are intended to add the experience, without having "just" attacks. Predatory animals roar, giants hold their clubs in the air and pose, and draugr pound on their shields. I even think those details are pretty nice, but it's a different story if you're trying to get rapid battles. 😂

Ahh, I remember that area. I've kept it in mind, but I prefer to do my matches in somewhat enclosed arena-like setups. This way, enemies can't move or get thrown too far away, which would make it hard for the camera to follow, and they sometimes even move so far away that they lose track. Thanks for the tip though!

The greybeard could've just went after the dragon priest, and the summoned creature would've disappeared
The dragon priest has a lot of health, so it makes sense here to get rid of the atronach first to reduce the damage taken. Arngeir only did a single shout that hit the atronach but not the dragon priest anyway 😄
greybeards shouldn't have beat alduin, he's supposed to be invincible if you don't have Dragonrend
