ah i had this guy as a kid, good to see him again, he was a favorite of mine i got rid of most of my childhood stuff when i went to college, i’m gonna have to see if i still have him next time i go home but i doubt it
I actually started watching your channel with the Alternators Jazz review. Love those custom decals. I was looking for an MP like Jazz and that was the best video I could find on it. Came for the Jazz stayed for smooth sounds of the chill reviews.
LOVED Dead End. Had to buy him on eBay because he was so rare. Didn’t care that the head was wrong; reminded me of Glenn Danzig. Those toys were just great.
The Alternators line run was way too short IMO. Those vehicle modes are incredible; no other Transformers line like these guys. I've got to give you credit for getting me interested in this line again. I ended up buying a bunch of these off eBay that I never did, years ago. It looks like prices are going up though... so there's still definitely demand for them. As a point of reference I got Sunstreaker MIB and Dead End both for about $10; it'll be hard to find either one for anywhere near that, now. Also, I gotta agree about Dead End. Its street rod styling & color scheme are gorgeous, makes that fig (and its vehicle mode) look mean as hell... sort of the "Nemesis Prime" version of Sunstreaker.
This dude is one of 5 alternators I still have. I had most of them at the time of their release and got rid of most and out of collecting when the kids came along, then back into it when Titans Return came along and the kids were a bit bigger. Sunstreaker was the only figure I've attempted to keep MISB and I finally admitted it isn't worth it and opened him about 2 years ago.
I have the entire line minus Hot Rod and Mirage. Great line. I consider them the pre-MP line. They've held up pretty well on my shelf over the last 16 years.
I really enjoyed this review! These figures were such a big goddamn deal when they came out. Collecting them was a blast....and like you said, they were only $20 in the US! Alternators would be $80+ if they tried to make these today.
In my opinion Alternators and Human Alliance are the best Transformers ever. Why? License cars, scale 1.24. Rubber tires( not the human alliance). Opening doors, you could have them next to a collection of scale cars and no one would notice it's a transformer. So that's AWESOME. Currently everything is of lower quality and very small acale. Just because they offer a "better" transformation into robot mode. I don't understand those who say that alternators are not good. But I guess it's a matter of taste.
I leave my Alternators Sunstreaker in his glorious car mode. Grimlock is the worst of the bunch to transform. I love the Mustang but that thing was frustrating! The only two I have left are Sunstreaker and Rodimus. The Jeep was pretty nice but I let that one go along with the rest.
The Ford GT, Mazda RX8 and the Scion xB. The Ford is horribly kibbly but the other two can move without tripping over their own parts. The Ford mustang is cool but it has ball joints that get loose
Cool review I still need to get the earthrise sunstreaker never seen him in store & don't want to spend $30+ on him but I might anyway before he gets too expensive
Hi, I had this transformer when I was a child but it broke. I’m thinking of getting a new one. But there seems to be two versions of this? I saw another one on ebay with a anime figure, which is a lot more expensive. I’m sure the one I had before had diecast metal.
If I'm not mistaken both versions of this figure didn't have diecast. The Japanese one is called kiss players and yes, way more expensive if you had this figure as a child, your parent bought it from the US and it did not have diecast
Alternators got me back into TransFormers, along with Robots in Disguise with that Optimus Prime that turned into a fire truck! Great review!
Beast Wars pulled me in

Alternators were cool for there Time
They were the bee's knees
Ah....my favorite bot. Excellent review of this lil' oddball
He has some..... Interesting engineering

Thank you for chugging along
Love these, makes me feel like this kinda was a glimpse into the Bayverse (or seeing chars that were never in the movies in movie format)
I had about half of these that they released. Sold them all. Wish I would of kept mirage though. Good review

Yeah. Their price has dropped
Great review , i bought the swindle from this line because of your review on him and now I'm going to buy this guy when i get payed!
Cool

I always did love this mold. Too bad this fig came out at the tail end of Alternators.

True. Lol. I was telling somebody that. They would be no cheaper than 60 bucks minimum
The streaks is coming in

I think Alternator Hotrod's design popped up in IDW during Furman's tenure.
Something very close
Such a great model car, hard to believe its a transformer. Robot mode could be better. Youre right, the colors are off, why red and gray arms?
They were trying to go with a toy homage
Awesome Review TMan978
What Up tman978 Love your video i watch IT most of the time much Love
Thanks
Bought Dead End.....and just recently bought this guy.
Cool
This is an interesting one weird to see you go back on a figure from so long ago curious what your going to say
I'll review old toys randomly.
@@TMan978 yea just rare to see can’t wait for it

What are the top 3 most articulated Alternators/Binaltech molds? From what I've seen it's Mirage/Hotrod and Tracks.

Yeah I think you need to hurry up unless they randomly start showing up in Ross
@@TMan978 that would be great
