I had heard that she lost her grandfather and that she was very close to him. My wife passed around that same time so I connected the song with the piano right away. When the lady behind her, with the cello, stared to play; it opened the floodgates. She did a great job both writing and singing this song. Thanks for the great analysis.
Angelina Jordan is an ORACLE Oracles have existed in human form in every culture around the world. Many are still noted in our time, such as the Oracles at Delphi in Greece, the Chief Oracle of Tibet, and the Oracles of ancient Egypt, but there are countless examples. They are the remnants in our minds of a time in which we all remembered. How else can we explain the hypnotic effect this creature has on all who dare experience her?
I lost my grandparents in 2018 and it is still affecting me to this day. I adored them both so I feel it. I know how she feels but I am not the fabulous Angelina. She is so fabulous.
Angelina said that she hoped that this song would find a place in our hearts as it came straight from hers- it certainly got to me at a time that there was so much sadness...
What a beautyful rendition, so majestic and impeccable. God bless her.. And of course I do apprecite your words concerning Angelina , She deserves all the attention due to her incredible talent which IMHO
Angelina own words from an interview on Million Miles: “When I was in the booth, while I was singing, my tears were running,” she says. “To be honest, it was like a feeling of relief that all my feelings were written down and I felt relieved. “Million Miles” means a lot to me because it is relevant to these difficult times. I definitely want to share my love to everyone, and I hope that people can connect with it and relate to the story behind the song.”
Set a tribute to her grandfather, passed away in 2018 to try to do it before I took days afterwards, but she couldn’t get through it broke down and cried like a baby now she’s gonna do it million miles tribute her grandfather
Angelina released this song in the midst of the pandemic and dedicated it to anyone who had lost a loved one. I have heard others say that hearing her work through her grief so beautifully in her music helped them to heal from their own losses.
She helped a lot of people this song a lot of people to connect. I talk to one fell in Norway, and he lost his father. You can get over to the hardest song that you were never alone they’re always with us. I don’t know Embac love never dies she helped him and many many many others, and lost their love ones to get over the circumstances around.
That’s a tribute to her grandfather, who passed away very personal, and the song is really well written by her first time she tried to say it song for her grandfather, she couldn’t get there. She broke down and cried the middle of it but this time he was 12 years old when he passed away now he older it’s a great song, Wichita it said I see my tears I know you’re out you can’t see me and I can’t see you but I can see you in my tears although your million miles
NEWS! NEWS! Angelina just dropped a new cover of I have nothing studio version in black-and-white you need to check that out OMG !!!!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍
Angelina sang live on Norwegian tv some days ago. She sang Bohemian rapsody and I have nothing. Search for «Allsang på grensen 2022» and «Angelina», and u will find them😍
Always lovely to hear your profession reaction and especially to this track as it is my favourite track....well was until 3 days ago when Suspicious Minds came out!
Hi Jennifer, thanks a billion for this very interesting, personal and professional reaction! I hope to see s much more reactions from you to Angelina Jordan ☺ Stay well and healthy, greetings from Berlin Andreas
No doubt in my mind, "Million Miles' will become a huge hit once it is promoted. This song changed my life since it allowed me to properly grieve the loss of loved ones and I know it has helped thousands of others and will help billions of people in the future.
Her diction is so good. In her covers, I often finally really hear the words of the song she's covering and get real meaning from the song, I always cry with her in this song.
That is not low for her. Check out her brand new brilliant Elvis cover. SUSPICIOUS MINDS. Also for her singing as low as she can age 11 How Great Thou Art. Someone said that was in the same key as the Elvis version
Song is very personal to her and you know it’s better. Grandpa died in 2018 and he was very close so tribute to him and you know that they told you that and I hope to hear her voices immaculate. I’ve been following her since she and a half years of age and she’s a great singer for them since generation center, you’re the best of
This was just what I needed this morning, Jen! As someone who's tried his hand at songwriting, like Angelina my instinct is to fill the space. She's a young songwriter and I'm sure that some more songwriting experience will see her introduce more space in her writing. This performance is fantastic, and your breakdown of what's going on is always welcome. Also, her recent cover of Suspicious Minds is next-level. I'm gonna put in a plug for your own covers, Jen; they're really interesting and enjoyable. Everyone should check them out.
I’m sure she filled in the spaces exactly how she wanted! With over 200 covers she’s rearranged, I’m sure people like Quincey Jones wouldn’t invited her to sing at his birthday bash to sing her version of Quincey’s arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra!
@@gregjohnson9681 Angelina's arranging instincts are great when it comes to covers, and she's also a good songwriter. I wasn't questioning that. I just know that it takes some time and experience writing originals to feel confident enough to leave space in both music and lyrics. She's already at a high level; I can't imagine what we'll hear from her in the coming years!
She said in a interview it hard to keep her emotions under control while recording this ,so it mint a lot to her .. really enjoyed your reaction, as alway
great detail and analysis again, would love to hear your reaction to Angelina's cover of Suspicious minds by Elvis. It feels like this is her first cover which will define her style, it's less jazzy, but warmer and more soulful.
Hey Jen, text she going to Las Vegas to hear a second concert there she going to Eastgate I don’t know you’re not sure you’re not gonna buy no texting and go but this is our second performance in Las Vegas. Yeah she’s
There’s another animated lyric version you should watch also. She and her grandmother painted the animation. Something about this one brings out even more emotions.
Loved from you Jennifer. Thanks. I could see it made you pretty emotional as it certainly does me every time I listen to it and I'm sure many many of Angelina's fans. Keep up the good work with your technical breakdown of all Angelina's songs. Thanks
Very nice reaction! I am always looking forward for your words. Angelina allows us to enter her soul. The whole situation with her as a singer and us as listeners is very intimate. She does not overwhelm me. My heart and my soul get widened. And the way you do the reactions fits very nice with it. Thank you very much!
I know this is a contributor grandfather passed away in 2018 to try to do it six days after he was passed away but she couldn’t do it. She broke down and cried like a baby and I want to hug her. She only 12 years old in but now she’s able to do it million miles a tribute to rent father. He said I’m gonna be on the moon be watching over you don’t care what you do your thing I’ll be OK if she says I see you my tears how do I can’t see you but you see me
I think when you are talking about her "vertical" quality I hear her driving her sound up into her sinuses. She's not necessarily being "nasally" but she's driving the sound into her head resonance and letting that come through. It's crazy when you think about it cause she's using her sinus cavity to create a sharp resonant tone. Amazing.
Thank you Jenn for this wonderful analysis of our barefoot princess ! As always AJ ceases to amaze with her beautiful vocals ! This one was especially emotional as it was an original song and a tribute to her late grandfather ! This was very heartfelt as it was so relatable to myself and to everyone who suffered the loss of close relatives ! It cuts straight to the heart ! Your analysis was spot on and so much appreciated ! AJ is an absolute favorite and I'm so happy that you continue to support and broadcast her videos ! Angelina has just released her magnificent rendition! of Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds" that is so so beautiful and different ! She also now is in Norway performing in concerts over the next week ! She has done a cover of "I Have Nothing " by Whitney Houston and also another cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody " now at 16 that is fantastic ! Both are live performances and I invite you to react to both in the near future! Thanks again Jenn and keep posting ! 👍😊🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️
Have seen her do this in two different settings and two different vids and this song gets to you no matter which version. Thanks for this today enjoyed As always great in sight from you letting us understand how this is all done LOL for all us non singers that love music
Absolutely great analysis, Jennifer 🙂 You're one of the absolute best at your craft, at least when it comes to reactors. We need to hear this, to better understand some of the tools Angelina has in her toolbox. Love from Norway ♥♥♥
U'r such a treasure as reactor! So 'on the spot comment', simplific & authentic. U're one of the few reactors I can stand nowadays while most are either sugarcoating or have no clue at all . Hope u continues u'r Angelina journey. I listen also to u'r other reactions. She has concerts at 7th of July (Kongsvinger jazz festival) or 10 th (Sandefjord) in Norway. If u want I got tickets for free! 😆🇸🇪
Jennifer once again you prove why you are one of the best vocal coach reactors on YT. This is one more stage of the Angelina growth to brilliance. I think when you hear Suspicious Minds you will see the next step. Just the opening phrase took my breath away and I could feel the tear ducts start to open. I "heard" the song in a completely different way then I had before. I look forward to your reaction. This song may not ever make your channel but please check out the School of Rock All Stars " Midnight Train to Georgia". As you have pointed out in many reactions how a singer's body movements help them achieve maximum results in their performance. I loved how her arm movements alone assisted her in keeping tempo and deliver real intensity where it was needed. Your subscribers should view it if only to see that the future of rock and roll is in good hands. As always Jennifer, Be Well.
Jenn, love your reactions! This studio version along with the lyrics version were released when she was 14. Angelina's simply amazing at any age. Thus, I recommend you burn the midnight oil to react to her Elvis Presley cover, released just this last week. At 16, her voice is simply amazing. She performs a ballad of Elvis's "Suspicious Minds" (1968), and she simply takes one's breath away. Every word imprints itself onto the listener. There's such an exponential growth in her vocal abilities that it's become the favorite of nearly everyone watching it. Angelina is accompanied by Rob Christie, 2x Grammy winner and Studio Director for Republic Records. This is an amazing vote of confidence that Rob has for Angelina. We've got reactors popping up around the globe, but only a very small number of vocal coaches. We would greatly appreciate your time and effort to react to Angelina, as she is today. "SUSPICIOUS MINDS" (22 June 2022 cover of Elvis Presley) - ua-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/v-deo.html
I enjoy your reactions very much. I understand, because you tell us directly, that you pause frequently to comment on various aspects of Angelina’s voice and delivery. I believe, though, that not hearing songs like this straight through eliminates an artistic element that Angelina consciously displays in her performances. There’s a dynamic flow in her delivery that weaves its way through most of her songs. We definitely can ride that flow of emotion in this very personal performance. Her latest release, Suspicious Minds, is completely different, but there is a beautiful symmetry to the music and the sequence of lyrics she has chosen to include. That would be missed with frequent pauses. Many reactors note that Angelina is a vocal artist, and part of that is the way she paints the story she is telling with vocal dynamics and the flow between sections of her songs. As I said, I’m a fan of your reactions, but I think anyone who doesn’t hear the song as a whole misses a very important component of Angelina’s artistry. Your comments on individual elements of the song are spot on. But also, the old saying applies: the whole is more than the sum of its parts.
I appreciate this point, though I'll say that if the alternative is we can't have reactions to some songs because the label blocks it thanks to less pausing, that's.... something to consider.
You might want to look at her version Always on My Mind, also about the same topic (spoiler: she cries). Her cover of Happier-- another great cover of another great song--appears to be about that loss too, though it doesn't quite make sense in the logic of song.
Just catching up on your AJ reactions- thank you for your knowing attention to this unique talent. I'd love to see/hear your take on one of the live renditions of this from last summer. Here's hoping.
Grandfather passed away in 2018 tribute to him. He said when I die, I’ll be on the moon watching out for you. Don’t worry what you do is gonna be OK we walked your street together and we left the chair and information and love and now you’re gonna hear all those
I just in some of your songs you did let me tell you I really enjoy your voice you’re good❤❤❤❤❤ give you five hearts Song leave it by Miley Cyrus. Very good.
... and all this time, I've been thinking she's singing 'like an empty BUBBLE to be thrown' and wondering what the hell that's supposed to mean! 'BOTTLE' makes much more sense, of course ... must be her new American accent! R (Australia)
I’ve heard other Europeans call it throwing bubbles where Americans say blowing bubbles. I guess if you use a bubble wand instead of blowing with your mouth, it could be considered throwing bubbles.
Jen, I have a group you NEED to react to. Collabro is an A Cappella group with harmonies so tight you can't get a piece of paper between them. Please react to their version of Bridge over troubled water.
I'll be honest. I don't give a crap about all the analysis. I watch to see if you are actually being personally affected by this girl pouring her heart out about something many of us have to endure with her: losing a dear loved one.
That’s her loss that’s why she feels that way I’m sorry you lost someone I lost my mom my dad my cousin died in front of me at 18 years of age I lost them all still feel for her she’s a teenager going through that
if you want to explain angelina, then don't explain her singing technique.it's brilliant.but we've all known that for a long time.we know her breath control, her feel for the music.if you want to do angelina justice, then you should explain what she and her music triggers and effects in you. that's what angelina wants. she wants to reach us and touch us inside. she doesn't want to show us her technical qualities.
This is a great song, but every time I listen to it, I feel like the last belt should be a few beats longer the way she performs it in concert. I don't know why it bothers me but it makes me feel like something is missing.
I just listened to 132 songs she did and George Moore get 100 so you’re not released yet Getting ready to go to second Las Vegas performance in Eastgate I know you’re in Australia so you’re not gonna get to go I got my tickets I’m gonna go she did the second one and Las Vegas and the first one was MGM casino fantastic show two hours and a half long took a 50 minute break this time you’re gonna be Eastgate Las Vegas casino performing Las Vegas and then Jordan
What are the lyrics to this song and you know what’s bad about grandfather died passed away in 2018 and you were very close so some of the things he said to her don’t worry what did you do when I die I’ll be on the moon watching out for you don’t worry what you think will be OK and she says I can see you and see my tears. I see my tears but you’re not far away I know you’re I know you’re not you’re not far away away I know you’re not too freaked that
Should be turned off for The passed away in 2018 he’s Japanese or grandmother Iranian from that Swedish and a mother is called Iranian woman and a Japanese. Her father is merry Christmas latter Swedish.
The Coach is so annoying just pausing at every line putting the song in jeopardy Such a Loving Song she has literally destroys the song. Little less coaching would be much better.
So many people have said how much this song has helped them grieve.
Thanks for your comments
I'm pleased to have learned more about voice. And what a voice to learn on
Damn! She's so smooth and powerful.
Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause it is so beautiful.
Yes suspicious minds is awesome!

And before this, at 11, she dedicates this to her Grampa.🌸
“You are always on my mind”

The tone, her voice cannot be copied you need to her only
I just in some of your songs you did let me tell you I really enjoy your voice you’re good❤❤❤❤❤ give you five hearts
Song leave it by Miley Cyrus. Very good.
... and all this time, I've been thinking she's singing 'like an empty BUBBLE to be thrown' and wondering what the hell that's supposed to mean! 'BOTTLE' makes much more sense, of course ... must be her new American accent! R (Australia)
branscombe Yet, in the lyric video, where the words are spelled out, it's "bubble".
I just listened to 132 songs she did and George Moore get 100 so you’re not released yet
Getting ready to go to second Las Vegas performance in Eastgate I know you’re in Australia so you’re not gonna get to go I got my tickets I’m gonna go she did the second one and Las Vegas and the first one was MGM casino fantastic show two hours and a half long took a 50 minute break this time you’re gonna be Eastgate Las Vegas casino performing Las Vegas and then Jordan
This is teenage Angelina showing immense vulnerability. Not your normal teenager.

I don’t care for this slow down version
Troll alert...ignore
There is no other version to this song,, it's one of her originals when she was 14yrs old,,
