- Go team Venture, indeed! After the series abrupt cancellation was announced last year, fans of the long running Adult Swim series were left devastated. Thankfully, it seems we haven’t seen the last of the Venture family or their hilarious cast of friends and enemies, as Adult Swim revealed the series would be receiving a feature film along with Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Metalocalypse. Dan takes a closer look on today’s episode of Nerdist Now!

I’m not sure how much a bigger budget will help or how much longer Doc and Jackson will keep wanting to do it. That said I’d love it if it got a couple seasons or more. If they can tie up most the story arcs in the movie they can get creative with new ideas for further seasons and they’re definitely that, “creative”.
I feel like it'll end like All This and Gaurgantua 2 with an ending that could work as the end but also set up a new phase of the series.

I think the only thing I was hoping after season 7, was that if the Action Man woke up from his coma the first movie he'd watch would be Empire Strikes Back.

Car accident
When I saw the Jonas Venture reveal in season 7, I watched the first episode again (where they go into space to fix the light) and it blew me away just how well it fit together.
Was it really a hallucination, or DID Doc actually talk to his father? When you watch it the first time you'd think it's just him hallucinating, but after season 7 I'm not so sure anymore.
The Monarch will become the Venture heir, Doc will become a super villain, & Hank will become a new Brock.
Didn't doc already turn down that life?
Dermmot is Brock. He joins OSI. Gets involved in time travel plot and gets a head injury which he has no memory. Rejoins OSI as Brock Samson. Once Dermmot is gone in time all memories return to Brock.

I’m so happy a Venture Bros movie is being made. I got into the series over the first lockdown and it’s one of my all time favorite shows. I’m glad to see that it’s getting it’s time in the sun

The one character I wish return in the movie fanelli is Triana because ever since season 4 she basically was written out of the series and it will be nice to see your come back because the way her character left was pretty terrible and I wish that they give her character a satisfying Ending by revealing her to be a powerful witch and given her and Dean a proper goodbye also showing us who voices orpheus's wife and the master again also the order the Triad
Either that or her friend from that one episode who swore to become a super villain to arch the Venture Bros and then was never seen or heard from again
She has to come back she was such a forrmative part of dean's growth and the master is just a classic character.
I think Triana was written out of the show at the end of season 4 as a result of Doc and Lisa Hammer's separation. Lisa did play Triana, anyways.

Great catch on how Orpheus predicted Action man's stroke in season 2 in what felt like a throw away gag and brought it back in season 7. I love this show. I can't wait for the movie. Great video.
It's one of the reasons why re watching the entire show is a joy, you find all those little gems. As soon as they publish a release date I will watch the show again before the movie for sure.

VB is the best written show I have ever witnessed. Animated or not. The best character development, humor and story.
Agreed. And the best voice acting (AMAZING!) and music!
Having spent far too much time pondering this series, here are my theories, keeping this in mind, 'follow the red hair':
1.) Jonas Venture screwed anything remotely female and attractive in his orbit, including but not limited to: Mz. Quymn, Jill St. John, Stella Stevens, and Mrs. Fitzcarraldo. I believe that Billy Quizboy's mother Rose also slept with Jonas at some point, since she was in the orbit of the original Team Venture, as stated by the Action Man as 'wanting to drill her for 40 years'. This leads me to believe that Billy Quizboy, Tara Quymn, Malcolm Fitzcarraldo (the Monarch) are all Jonas' biological children via natural conception.
2.) I believe Jonas wanted to live forever and a large part of his life was dedicated to this goal. His cloning technology appears to have been intended for this purpose and Rusty was a test subject on what the long term side effects might be on a clone. The PROBLEM also facilitated life extension in this regard. Finally, Vendata aka the Blue Morpho may have been yet another experiment in life extension via cybernetics.
3.) It would be very interesting in my opinion if the Monarch achieved ultimate vengeance on Rusty by proving that as a clone, Rusty legally has no claim on the Venture estate, and that Malcolm would be the legitimate heir, along with Billy and Tara.
I theorized based on the red hair myself. Agree Jonas has many illegitimate kids.. The only one you forgot was Sgt Hatred

Another unrelated clue is in the Spanikopita episode where we're shown several of Brock's illegitimate children. It's nothing concrete, although it does prove that this is something that does happen within the VentureVerse
The Venture estate Monarch would be entitled to at most would be the burned out Venture compound, but likely only a portion of it.
As for the rest, JJ bought the old Venture Industries property in New York from Impossible and built up his fortune using his genius, drive, and some antiquated equipment on Spiderskull Island. The NYC location was specifically willed to Rusty, so no claim on that.
Adult Swim dicked us around waiting years for new seasons.
That's not at all what happened. The show is all basically written, directed and hand animated by Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer - with season 7 being the only major exception as they handed off directing duties to someone I can't remember offhand. All that work takes time, which is why the gaps in between seasons got longer. Adult Swim was just impatient. They canceled the show as Publick and Hammer were working on season 8 because they weren't happy with the turnaround time 😒
Still glad we're at least getting a movie to wrap things up tho. And this is The Venture Brothers we're talking about so there can always be more if the movie is successful because the universe is so vast

between season 7 and 8 Doc Hammer was paralyzied from the chest down. He spent two years learning to walk again. I don't think he has the physical strength to continue a full season.

@@sirslurmusic this is also what helped keep a compelling and less convoluted story. They created and knew what, how, and why those characters would do, say, and react. The fact that a 15 year long story only got better with time is just a compelling argument on why this show is a classic. I don't know if it should end but the pieces are there to do so with doc getting the entire venture fortune, Dean getting a college degree, Hank had already proven himself a competent super spy like Brock during the sphinx arc. And Brock is just brock his worries is will he ever see those "manboro miles"
Honestly I really hope that while the mother of both Rusty and Malcolm would be a great twist to be honest I really would like to see at least a cameo from Hank and Dean's mother because she was a big character who was always teased in the beginning and would have been nice to have her come back also who beat the final big bad in this movie I believe is Jonas since he was the one who basically started a lot of problems and who basically was an all-around villain disguise as a so-called hero scientist
But Jonas Venture died in season 7 thou

Fast forward 20 years in the future:
Dean is a mad scientist and member of the GOCI. Hank is a vigilante superhero with superpowers he got after returning from his coma (a la Dead Zone).
Will future Dean be a mad scientist, or just a scientist that's mad?
I could see the latter happening..... (it would also be funnier).

Dean doesn't want to be a super scientist, but he's being driven to be one. I don't think he'd put a lot of effort into trying to build something new. I think he'd scrap something together and use it to act out, like a progression fron his emo phase. Then, Hank comes along to stop him

Fan theory: I think that in an original timeline Hank died out there in the snow from his head injury, and since there were no more clone slugs, that was the end of Hank. Dean was deeply traumatized from having been sleeping with Serena (Hank's girlfriend) while Hank was dying. Remember Hank only left Ventech tower to look for Serena. Dean was inadvertently responsible for Hank's death. As the years went by Dean's guilt, shame, depression, and loneliness caused by Hank's death drove him to madness, and he managed to find a way back in time. Upon arriving in the past Dean donned the costume of Scare Bear, and dedicated himself to saving Hank's life and rewriting history, giving us the timeline we're familiar with. This would explain why Scare Bear was able to get into Impossible Industries in S4E13 without filling out the proper paperwork, because he remembered the passcode from when he interned there as Dean (also S4E13). It would also explain why Scare Bear knew exactly where to find Hank despite him being covered in snow in the blizzard, because a traumatized Dean would remember where Hank's body was found from his original timeline. And it explains why Scare Bear knew not only where Dean's dorm room was, but what Dean was doing (and who is was doing it with) at the time of Hank's death. Scare Bear took Hank to the dorm room instead of a hospital because he needed to show Hank his shame as a way to repent for what he did in the original timeline. The reason we don't see Scare Bear again after that is because after correcting history Scare Bear ceased to exist, having written himself out of history, which maybe exactly what he was trying to do.
A cool theory. I heard someone through out a similar but it was Future Hank as Scare Bear. Where after finding out after sometime his girlfriend and brother were intimate with each other drove him into a rage and he became either a super villain or a serial killer. Only after some time passed realize he made a mistake and decided to go back in time to show his past self what happened in the hopes that it would change his life. And seeing that Hank leaves with his Batman mask and not as his villainous alter ego that might a possibility. But yes I do think Scare Bear is from the future and more than likely given his ties to the boys it is more than likely one of them.
the biggest multipart single plotline going. No show ever had the slowest truth reveal.
Imagine they release the movie and it's like 4 hours long, they literally crammed an entire season into a movie... I would cry.
I honestly think Scare Bear is going to play some kind of role.
I suspect that Scare Bear is Bud Manstrong, one of the survivors of the Movie Night Massacre and repressed masterbator.
He had a full on mental breakdown when we last saw him ("Penny for his thoughts?") and he definitely had a presence in the story.
Also, he likes the boys.
I hope that if the movie is a conclusion to the series it is played out in a trilogy. Three one and a half (at minimum) films. Making it all a season or more in length.
But what I really hope for is the movie to jump-start the next season(s)
I feel the show has enough story and lore, created universe, to last another few seasons. Two seasons and a movie or two or beyond.
My fear is that a movie won't satisfy if that's the end. There's just so much to cram into so little time.
Hence my hope of ethier a trilogy of movies or at least two more seasons. That would satisfy. At least. But since I love The Venture Bros I want more. Lol
I want to know what Killinger’s game is. Could he be an all-powerful monster biding his time until all the pieces fall into place, and his true plans will force the heroes and villains to team up to save the universe culminating in a final showdown with Hank & Dean and Rusty & the Monarch against Killinger?
From what the show hints at, him and the Investors are literally gods. Killinger himself was the southeast Roman wind god, while the others had the other directions. It seems like Killinger just plain ideologically opposed their god complex with a far more benevolent "eldritch fairy godmother" complex of his own.
His plan amounts to one thing-
Love. Sweet love.
I love the Venture Bros, but I can't deny that it was reaching a point where waiting years for a single season was definitely starting to hurt the show. I feel that if they released a new season each year, it would have kept audiences invested and the show could have continued on for another few seasons without any problem.
I don't think it did.
We got a near perfect series and hopefully the movie will cap it off.

Im pretty sure Rustys dad slept with The Monarchs dads (blue Morpho) wife. Cause if you remember the episode where they found Dr.Venture Senior head. and the blue Morpho cyborg went inside his head. they replayed there old memories. And one of them was that the blue Morpho was having trouble getting his wife pregnant and Venture Senior said I am a scientist I can help with that.

Doc o.is very powerful and underappreciated in the venture universe.
I was under the impression that Rusty and the Monarch had the same dad, Dr. Venture, Sr. Rusty was born normally and cloned because he died during his many adventures. The Monarch and Rusty being artificial lives from the start doesn’t seem right.
I always took it to be that Jonas banged Blue Morpho's wife to get her pregnant. I would then think it was twins, so he took one in "payment." And after that point of he was a clone it was as you said, Rusty was as "death prone" as his own sons.
My husband is convinced that Dean is a clone of Doc, and Hank is a clone of Brock, and that as such they don't have a mom. But this is because he's a causal watcher and forgot that Myra was still Doc's bodyguard when the boys are born. While yes Doc and Brock knew each other in college their relationship wasn't a great one so I doubt Doc would want to clone him before they became family.

Favorite theory...hmm...I like the theory that scare bear is Hank from the future.
The biggest question & answer I expect to see is why does the Monarch hate Rusty Venture so much? The question has been asked before & a patch answer that that’s all the monarch knows has been satisfactory however seeing as this is the end, perhaps even the monarch will discover why he hates Rusty & maybe the 2 will reconcile or just have a final battle.
I think it will be funny if Rusty loses Ventech & his level 10 EMA status & Monarch immediately self sabotages so that he can keep himself at Rusty’s level
So doc and monarch are brothers. Which means any inheritance is 50 50 for them. But docs a clone. Does he get any money.
I swear to god, I figured it out. The identity of the mystery woman. Molotov Cocktease! Think about it! They haven’t brought her back after season 5 I think. After the death if Monstroso she just disappeared. Yet she holds great significance in the Venture bros mythos and had great impact on the lives of our main characters. She had all this time since her last appearance to come up with a plan. Whatever she has been up to, I know it’s going to be big

Alex Hirsch's idea on how a show (specifically gravity falls) should end is universal. And the venture bros great writing and charters should finally have an end so they don't lose their developmental weight. I love this show and I can't wait for the movie.

In the original script for "All This & Gargantua 2" Underbite asked Fat Chance to send him back to Uunderland using his wormhole powers as the space-station was burning up. This part never made it into the episode thou so how canon it is we don't know. If it happened then Underbite is still alive and is probably trying to retake his country from Madame Hittler while Fat Chance is likely dead.

I've been watching an hour of Venture Bros reruns 5 days a week, for the last 6 years, while I workout. I watch each season sequentially (skipping past the Dean flawed clone (too sad) and the Captain Sunshine/Hank episodes (too Pedo)) in an endless loop of happiness! I fricken love the show!!! So, I've seen every episode at least...geez, 15, 20 times (except for the botched Christmas special that just wasn't ready for air time so I don't watch it anymore), and was quite impressed with the plot points re-hash over all 7 seasons! Well done! Seriously good work! I didn't see one mistake at all! But I don't think that the Monarch's mother is Rusty's mother as well. I just don't get the feeling. True, Rusty never speaks about his mother even once in seven seasons, but my impression was that when the Monarch's dad (the Blue Morpho) sent his wife to see Dr Venture Senior for help conceiving a baby that Jonas Venture Sr...raped her while she was unconscious. That's just the vibe I got and that's exactly the type of guy he was. My hope is we get to see Bobbi Saint Simone, but now that I sort of ponder things (and I actually did used to write for tv)...making Rusty and Malcom (the Monarch) FULL brothers would be a pretty cool trick. We already know that they are at the very least half brothers. I'm really looking forward to the movie! I will absolutely go see it!!!

I *WISH* I Was In Charge of [adult swim] Programming.
There is a larger arch to the Venture history. There has been two force controling human history. One is the force of enlightenment that seeks to improve the human condition. The other is forces that seek to destroy civilization, and bring the forces of enlightenment. Throughout history the Guild has fought to better mankind, and it took two thousand years building a secret weopon, the Orb. The Orb is so mysterious, and powerful, no one even knows what it does, but a great secret war is fought for the Orb. It is thought the Orb is so powerful, it was broke to prevent it's use. No one should have that power. The thing, was the Orb actually destroyed? We see that with the breaking of the Orb, the Guild itself was broken two ways. First the Guild is broken into two factions. The war never really ended. One faction the Guild, became evil, but ultimately it's function is to limmit the forces of Evil. It take those who seek, and want control, and controls them so they don't disterb society as whole. The second faction is OSI, which fights the Guild, but inreality does the same as Guild. It keeps the memebers of the Guild in line, so it doesn't disterb soceity as a whole. Two factions split, but still doing the same thing. Like any intelligence angency, OSI is more concern with maintaining it's own postion in society. We know The great grand father of Thaddeus Venture was sopposed to be killed, but the killer didn't have the heart to do it. He broke the Orb instead. Then you have to ask who kill Jonas Venture? The thing is, Jonas was gettting to powerful. He had his own God damned space station, so he must have had more power than most nations. I would have to assume it was OSI. Like the Guild, they keep their members in check. Who tried to kill Malcolm Venture? I don't believe the Blue Morpho was the intended target, but it was the bastard son of Jonas Venture. Like monarch marring into other royal families, Dr. Venture's son Malcolm would've inherited his Culkold father's business, thus increasing the Venture's power. The jet crash was meant to kill Malcolm, not his family. It didn't work. Ask yourself, "Why don't Ventures Die?" We find out that Jonas isn't not only a living head, but he is kept alive on the flying OSI base. Is Jonas Jr. dead? We don't see him die? Jonas Jr. is just slipped off screen and assumed to die. Why isn't Thaddeus dead. For an out shape middle aged guy, he seems unkillable. He has a death squad from the Guild sent to kill him, and they do rip off his arm, but that hardly kills him. What about Dean and Hank. Yeah they actually die, but they have clones that take their place. When the clones are destroyed, even then, they don't die. There is something larger going on. If the Orb was so all powerful, had did it allow itself to be destroyed? Whatever the Orb is, it set in motion force that keeps the Ventures alive. The Venture have something they have to do. Best guess is it has to restore the Guild to it's origional purpose. We have strong evidence that the guild has kept down Thaddeus Venture. Good old Doc might noth be as much of a failure a he appears. Doc, working with his friends, finish the portal that his brother started. Other forces are closely watching Doc. The see he has invented the Portal, and they give Thaddeus the choice of being raped to death with a knife, or have sex with Dr. Girlfriend. Not much of a choice. Tell me who is the bad guys in Venturee Bros. From what I see, OSI is no better than the Guild. Ask yourself, Who is the bad guy in the series. Thaddeus is losing everything, and Killeger offer him a Satanic offer. Arch his brother, and restore his family's wealth. Doc refuses. Doc is offered millions if he will clone that Buzby character. Doc refuses to do so. Doc is tied, and tortured, and he refuses to clone Hitler. Muddy as thre morality is in the show, Doc Venture is the good guy. I know the movie will not cover these subjects. Who is Deans, and Hanks mom? Who was Thaddeus's mom? Is Billy quiz boy actually a Venture? What about Billy's friend white? Nope, it will never be covered by the movie.
It could be sky who was Doc Ventures girl when they had a child together after Hank and Dean died on thier hover scooters being shot by 21 then Doc had a sort of meltdown before Brock dragged him back by his feet in that night club
My theory: Hank is scare bare. Rusty isn’t the only one time hopping, Hank is as well, Hank took Hank to dean while dean was sleeping with Sirena. My theory is Hank is a future villain to Dean, mirroring the relationship that Malcom and Rusty have.

If the movie ends up answering nothing, but being an actual production of Rusty Venture: The Broadway Musical, I'd be both ecstatic and annoyed.
Oh man great video and can't to get more Venture Bros. As far as Scare Bear I think it's Hank from the future who discovered much later that his brother and girlfriend were seeing each other behind his back which sent him into a rage and he became either a villain or a killer only to years later realize his mistake. So he travels back in time and brings Hank to the moment this hookup first takes place. And by the end we see Hank leaving but in Batman mask not as his villainous alert ego. As far as fav vallain goes it's still The Monarch but Red Death is a close second. Do wish we got a close for Treana's friend Kim who could have turned into a super villain and gobe after the boys because she wasn't kind to Hank or Dean which Treana resented and left her behind but then went to magic school. So Kim teams up with Henchman Number 1 to go after the boys to lure 21 out for revenge and Treana has to help save the boys and tell her former friend the truth about what happened. An ending for the series anything I come up with will pale in comparison to Doc and Jackson as they have nailed it sense I was in high school all the way back in season 1.

I kept trying to get into the show never could one day I was so hungerover I was just dead legit could barley walk or move kept throwing up so I threw it on for background noise I was on season 2 and kept waking up to out of context jokes and would just start laughing and from time to time I just would watch it since I couldn’t sleep. Anyway I now watch it after I get out of work to relax

Hands down the best of the Venture clan has to be Dean. He's the one that didn't ask for this life. He wants to be normal.....well at least as normal as a clone of a clone who father decided that science was the big ticket to cash and famousness. As for villain's as if their is ever a chance no one can stop THE MONARCH!
Hank is by far the best. Dean is a crybaby emo and was going to turn into a bad ass villain before adult swim cancelled the show. Triana turned him into a villain and I’ll be damned if I respect a man who gets friend zoned and turned villain because of that.
What about the Massacre of Movie Night? It was never made clear on who actually did it as Blue Morpho admits he doesn't remember actually doing it despite threatening to do so.

One thing we're still missing: Who was responsible for the Movie Night Massacre? "Arrears in Science" was notably cagey about whether Vendata was actually responsible, by concealing the moment itself and having Fitzcarraldo protest his innocence. Who else could it have been, though?
I'm gonna go way out on a limb: It was Rusty. Specifically, the Time-Travelling Rusty we see calling the Monarch "Malcolm" in "The Forecast Manufacturer," probably sometime after he and Billy appeared out of Grover Cleveland's time machine. Jonas Venture admitted to some slight haziness about his memory of his death, leaving a narrow gap for some kind of cathartic or horrifying confrontation with his son, who has now had the benefit of seven seasons and a movie to gain some clarity about what kind of monster his father was. Doc's "latest invention" as alluded to by the press release could either be a time machine, or cause time travel as an unintended side-effect.
