I remember that dinner. My dad was a truck driver for a big company and had the highest bid for charity at a company event so he could take me. I was 16 (huge fan then and still true at 37) and got to hang out with some amazing kids who were all so sweet. My kiddo has Type One now and for all the wings games we’ve been to they’ve been awesome. Hoping you’re one of the cool kids I danced with at that event. I still have my Avery autograph from it.
At 4:10 or so - Avery was probably looking for the word Milliner or Millinery, which is often used today to refer to the manufacturer of men’s and women’s hats, though traditionally it refers to the maker of women’s hats. A haberdasher is just someone who sells men’s hats and other items of men’s clothing.
Anyone else barely knew/didn't know who Avery was when he played but have since become a fan just from this podcast? You can't help but love this absolute mad psycho lad.
He just acted like a fool. He was protected by instigator rule and the direction the league was going in. 10 years earlier someone would've cleaned his clock good.
@@tbonet859 yeah he got under his skin for sure. But he really acted like a clown. Like I said, 10 years earlier someone would've really made him pay. But at that point the enforcers were really handcuffed in what they could do. So Avery was able to continue on being ridiculous. Kudos to him but it's frustrating to think what some guys like Probert, Domi, McSorley and so on, would have done to him if he tried that stuff a few years earlier.
I know you either love or hate him but man he was good at his job. People have to remember what his role was. He did a good enough job enough to make people hate him. I liked him as a player. He made the game interesting and exciting to watch. And was a solid player!! Great interview.
@@automstone7613 oh yeah he for sure said/did some dumb stuff and he goes into that but nhl did unfairly target him or didn't stick up for him when he was targeted by fans. I liked the book showing the behind the scenes of what it's really like being a player in the bigs. Would reccomend the read.
I remember watching a vid of Avery probably a year-year and half ago and honestly he was just the oddest guy I never would’ve thought he’d be the way he was but after watching this yeah honestly he’s a good guy. I might have to go steal his bike though Ive been working on the accuracy with my hammer so we’ll see how it goes.
ahhh man there were so many good questions the bald dude had but i feel like biz kept interrupting or putting his input in. that's too bad cause im mad interested in this dude's NHL career
it's funny, I would be the perfect co-host for Avery. not to mention, as a ranger fan, he was a huge hero of mine on the ice and off...would be the dream job. unfortunately, I only made it to D2 Club hockey, so can't relate on that level lol. he's awesome to listen to
As a canadian u have to have the clothing down to a science when its cold. U have to know the weather and have the right shit or ur ganna regret it within 5 min being outside lol biz is from ontario hes forgot what winters like lol
No go to IMDb, he's in the cast. When I saw the scene he had in theatre, I was like "wait...thats avery!! Nooo that can't possibly be him..just some look alike.. How could he get in THIS?" Even waited for credits for his name but didn't see it but he's seriously in a blockbuster Nolan film!! Unreal
Someone needs to edit the Marty brodeur enterprise commercial with Sean Avery answering the phone on the other end 😂
“Love rippin darts”
These guys are beauties
i laughed my ass off at that too
RA making ppl uncomfortable again; that guy needs to shine shoes
😂
Sean is a beast. I sat with him at the McCarty Foundation dinner when I had cancer as a kid and he was on the Wings. Awesome time, awesome guy.
Heavy man. Congratulations on getting past that.
@@elninomile thank you 🤘🏽 didn’t make it to the NHL but now I work for the Wings and they cut me check so everything worked out 😂😂 appreciate ya tho

Great episode ..... Could listen to this all day..
Thank you 🙏 for an amazing interview. Thanks for all your work with helping the ECHL players. Biz, you definitely remember where you came from
we need a spin off show called "words with Biz" where he just goes through the dictionary and learns the English language.
I need Sean and Bill Burr to both go on a tangent about hating different shit
i do it too. glad im not the only psycho out there.
Crazy to think Sean is a dad
I miss these sit down interviews hopefully we can get back to these soon
ya so with Biz' estimate it would cost $530 million for an hour and a half movie.
Gonna go ahead and say that is wrong lol. But it probably is incredibly expensive. Maybe like a 1/7th of that
And thats just the IMAX. Lol
@@sonicismybrawler It's around 10k per minute if shot on 70mm film
Can't believe i missed this one. Fucken hilarous guy. Great interview

Biz imitating Avery’s wife: “Where are you? Where are you?”
Whit: “you gotta read the lines” haha
One of the smartest agitators ever...literally made the greatest goalie of all time, Marty Brodeur his bitch...EVERY TIME they played!!

I read his book it's pretty good
Joel Rogers - what’s it all about ?
@@automstone7613 funny stories about being in the show. What he actually was vs what the league painted him as. I laughed a few times actually.

He should have played the lead role in American psycho
He was the inspiration.
@Inoffensive Name ya but he still has a weird sociopathic vibe about him
Avery looks like he watches Archer for fashion advice
You’re disrespect of uncle Joey with weak regurgitated jokes is appalling. But I love you KAHLABIB 😄

Honestly Avery just radiates charisma and seems like the type of dude who’d be the life of any party.
More like a child abuser
I've been a Devils fan since 1988 but I would love to sit down and talk to Sean. I love stirring shit up lol.

Lol Averys a beauty. Bring him on more often
Inspiring. I love this guy.
i could fuckin listen to Sean Avery talk for hours
"I like words now" 😂 you know you've been a goon for too long if you gotta say that
I think that Sean Avery, the actor, is the only natural choice to be the next James Bond.
Love Avery! But we need a Kevin Hayes Podcast!
You would.. Tool
Check apple podcasts. He’s been on
Haysey has to be able to tell a story first.
He’s been on like 5 times lom
That was a good one boys
Convince me that Shoresy isn’t based on Sean Avery.
The real Avery Rule story is now immortalized. Another Chiclets top shelf interview.
if y’all don’t listen to averys podcast then you’re missing out just sayin
Matt Cruz didn’t even know he had one thanks
It's fantastic. Thanks for making me realize it exists

Sean Avery is a good guy, I don't care what people think. I'd be friends with him.
even the man-boob havin losers who "hate" sean would be friends with him if given the chance
I've always loved Avery, but the idea of enforcing a bike lane is pretty gay. Bicyclists are the gayest of them all. I still love Avery.

Pure class. Pure grace. Sean Avery

The nhl needs more players like him to bring the excitement back. Sucks that the goon is all but a thing of the past.
100 percent, every thing is so watered down. Football, Basketball. It's not OK to hate the competition come on
