That's always a possibility. What I am trying to emphasize here is that while women can't truly think about nothing, men can. And for women to assume that men think like we do creates conflict.
As a men, I’m either thinking about nothing, or everything. I say nothing because I’m either literally thinking about nothing, or thinking about something complicated that I’ve been mulling over in my head for hours but I just won’t tell you because it’s hard to explain. Like earlier my sister asked what I was thinking about, and I was thinking about how the bible is the same story as Pinocchio but I’m not gonna tell her that’s what I was thinking about. Thanks for the confirmation. I have discussed this idea that men are capable of thinking about nothing for years with hundreds of male students and they all agree. Of course, as you say, men also think about a lot of other things. The difference is that women can't stop thinking. Women are always thinking about something.
if a man tells u he is thinking about nothing it is a red flag. Either he doesn't trust you and is not letting you into his mental. although some men can't express themselves properly but they will at least try. somebody is always thinking about somethin but u have to be trusted to find out.
Because men think in boxes or compartments, they are actually capable of thinking about nothing. I'm not suggesting that this is the case every time. certainly a man may not trust someone enough to really share his thoughts. Far too often, women assume the lack of trust, rather than accepting that he can be thinking about nothing and this creates unnecessary conflict.
