nice straight forward troubleshooting Electronix for more than 30 years and the only thing I have to add is if you can't figure it out sleep on it and then try to forget you ever looked at it in the first place and start fresh ... ( love these videos ) cheers from San Diego
I have my first interview for a medical technician job in a few days and this channel has been very useful in brushing up on the basic of troubleshooting. Thank you!
A great refresher for me, Thanks I am an ET by trade and I firmly believe in the techniques you re-explained for me. Remember Safety, and don't release the magic smoke!!

Hello, Thank you for the video. Very helpful. I work on mostly electrical equipment,$1m systems or more, alot of times we just change the boards but Ill repair some. And now Ill repair more. Looking forward for more videos.

If you is interested in electronics the greatest results that i've had was by using the Gregs Electro Blog (just google it) definately the most helpful course i've followed.
good day , an impressive to know more regarding troubleshooting tips it's additional knowledge to the people repair of electronics component in safe way. and thank you for this tips very helpfull.
I have a power supply of an old record player. It read 36 volts yesterday. When I put a small motor to it, the motor ran fine, I could tell the ps was less than 1 amp. The next day it suddenly only reads 0.07 volts. I haven't done anything else to it. Does that mean it can only be a bad cap (16v)? Btw, I have 2 of the same boards and now they have exactly the same problem. The caps on both on them look like new.
Shot in the dark probably...but I bought an old amplifier and replaced the bulbs and 1 fuse inline with the bulbs. Everything powers on fine, all of the caps look good, bulbs are going fine. Problem is the sound, only very slight sound in the right channel (only at full volume) sounds blown and no sound on the left channel. Where should I start with this problem? (solid state amplifier from the 60's to 70's- off brand Miida)
I'm looking to use a wireless door bell and it's remote as a mail box alert system, but, need info on how to modify the bell with a visible indicator (e.g. light or led) which will stay lit until I manually deactivate it. Any ideas? Thanks
Paul and I spent days trying to get an inexpensive ebay video doorbell to work. turns out they only work with some isps. On your question use a capacitor connected to the bell speaker to generate a pulse to an op amp then a ttl latch to a led driver and led
I have an M-AUDIO Fast Track C600 recording interface which uses a 5 volt 2 amp power supply. I plugged the wrong power supply into this device & now it won't turn on. If I post a picture of this devices board, could you point me in the right direction to test components to find what I blew? Thank you.
The three best tools for troubleshooting is something you always have. Eyes smell touch. Look can you see any burnt components? Smell can you smell any burnt parts or area of heat? Wet your finger and touch IC's and other components. Then use your other tools to check circuit. We always said check Edison! Do you have power getting to the equipment.
Hi friend of mine gave me his Sony TV but he told me that he plug the TV straight to the wall socket then he short circuit the TV by connected the ground wire to a live wire meaning he try to connect the light figure ....now the TV have no life it dead....thanks
People often lie about what they are doing when a piece of equipment fails.I have had costumers cost me time and themselves money because they cant be objective, because they feel a need to protect from a perceived threat to their ego.
Great Video clip! Apologies for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Saankramer Electronic Magazine System (just google it)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning how to repair electronic items like a wizard without the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my good mate called Gray got astronomical success with it. +mrsillywalk
interesting points ,if anyone else is searching for electronic repair store try Saankramer Electronic Magazine System (just google it ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my brother in law got excellent results with it.
Why do so many capacitors fail? Are they just made crappy? I take pictures of everything before I disconnect it that way I can see at a glance how it all goes back together
