Basically knee was saying guest characters are problematic and should be deleted from tekken7 but TMM disagreed with knee and replied that those guest characters were only a problem at high level and they shouldn't be deleted just because top 0.01% of the playerbase are having trouble with it.Then probably due to the language barrier or translation error ,knee took it very negatively and called TMM "hella scrupman"

Since were reading comments, let me throw this out there. Homing throws aren’t inherently bad it’s just the implementation in T8. Something more interesting would be: 1 break throws track left, 2 break throws track right, 1+2 breaks not having any tracking and just for variety, some specific throws buck the trend

Character unfamiliarity is a thing for Tekken 8. Isn't it the "pros" complaining about the game being too casual and attracting new players that are often casuals. This is probably their first Tekken game.

I actually started off maining Bryan, I smoked a Fujin Reina as a Tenryu Bryan and he sent me hate mail, long story short he told me I’m trash and Reina actually takes skill and I should “try learning Reina then rematch 😂” I spent 3 hours in practice mode, learned reinas basics, put it all together, rematched him, and whooped his ass.
I haven’t stopped playing Reina since 😅

I think most people misunderstands that character difficulty is not just about execution tbh. Byron is not difficult because it's hard to press 3 and 4 at the same time, but good luck landing a single 3+4 on a good player, yeah, he is a scrup killer cuz this game is agressive and everyone press mindlessly into him, of course the ch monster will win using only 2 button.

I think the main issue with making a tier list on character difficulty is skill floor vs skill ceiling. A lot of the points he makes are about the ceiling of the character, but most people are nowhere near the ceiling (ex: Asuka).
In tier list we should have some axis. Like difficulty in begginer/intermediate vs pro. I remember tmm struggling to put Paul somewhere because the difference between these 2 levels for him is enormous 😊😊
I feel like Jin's d+2 is like Heihachi's d/b+2, in the way they are telegraphed ("HWAAA", "HASHISH")

So playing bryan is pretty rough,you really need to pull some shit out of your ass to a degree that other characters wouldn't to make him work. Not only that but playing neutral offense as bryan involves A TON of fake outs. Plus going against mashers that turn their brain off like laws or kings is where he struggles the most since he doesn't have a single panic button.
I had a easier time with kazuya although thats because kazuya is more or less playing the same game the others are. 50/50s with FF3 being safe and hellsweep being a 16 frame low.
That's kind of the beauty with bryan,he only needs 2 touches to put you into the dirt. The problem is getting that hit. He's not drag who has grab mix ups,kazuya/paul with the 50/50s,or king who's entire character is a walking mix up machine. He just plays the game bare bones.
QCB 1 spam or While rising 1 spam. You will be fine. Hes super good at forcing your opponent to approach and shitting on them. While rising 1 is launchable so people will want to run into your face to block that and launch punish, then they mess up the timing hes so easy.

Tbh to a certain extent I struggle more with kazuya newbies than experienced players. Because experienced kazuya players have a certain way of play that you just get used to. And when I play against someone relatively new to Kazuya I feel bemused and somehow struggle. But I love all of them. And the same goes for Brian players. I love facing them. They're usually talented, honourable and fun to play against (in my experience)
King doesn't really mash well unless he is hitting jabs to set up grabs, but those are highs. He doesn't have that type of pressure because his strings and big buttons are mostly negative unlike, say, Jack 8. He is more "poke poke mid" or "poke poke grab".
I think Bryan and King have counteracting gameplans. Bryan plays keepout and King wants to be in your face. You say that Kazuya is an easier matchup and that would make sense. Kazuya plays in and out as well. It could be that Kaz is giving you the space to play your game. Maybe it is a spacing issue rather than a buttons issue.
I just think this game would be so much better if they buffed defensive options. I really feel that’s what made tekken amazing. Make moves track less, I’m a Paul main and it’s fucking insane when I do a deathfist and visually see them stepping me and getting still clapped lol

Agree in almost everything with u, ibeen playing tekken since tekkn 3 (didnt play 4 ) , but thats the thing, i remember u say that lee is easier in tekken 8, i agree, but also are kazuya or reyna for example, your argument is that in heat mode, lee is way easier, and agree, again haha, but also is kazuya, no need to perfect input one of the best attacks in the game (electric).
Yes, as you see, i love lee, but i also main kazuya in older games.
Also, another thing, bryan is one of the hardest chars on the game, or could be the hardest, his cieling is higher yes, but also his floor is way higher than other characters, i guess thats what ppl mean to bryan being "easy". almost all his attacks counter and combo, could be annoying to that people, also, you can combo without alot of effort.

The thing about moves like Jins d2 that I hate is that they are connection dependent. In the era where 99% of matches will be played online, no moves should be in that frame zone where they are reactable offline but not online with more than a frame of delay or a few frames of rollback. IMO it should either be deliberately reactable or not and balanced as such.

Hot takes? Kuma got an incredibly interesting rework. They removed his 12 frame low from hbs, so its no longer an option to just force plus frames in hbs and make them gues, or poke them down with hbs lows., but kuma got a bunch of new plus frames and CH tools. They gave bears new power AND changed how you had to play them. If you are a bear player, you are enjoying T8, and everyone calling rhe game ruined is disheartening

I think there's an issue with measuring how good a character is by looking at pro players only. The same applies to begginers too. So, it's far more accurate (not perfect, but better) to measure them by how mid to mid-high players use them.
Also, there are two verticals we should consider: complexity of use AND proficiency.
Some characters are complex but are strong: Kazuya.
Some characters are simple AND strong: Azucena.
Some characters are complex AND weak even though in theory they're ACTUAL professional punching fighters but get outpunched by a dancing girl who likes coffee: Steve.
Give Kazuya snake edge and orbital.

Either Steve is as difficult as you say and I only run into Steve's with better fundamentals than most other characters I go against because only good players use him, or I just suck at the match-up, or he's being heavily downplayed. It is probably a mix of all 3, but every Steve is beating me most times. Same with Claudio players.
I think what folks say a lot of the time is true, but what needs to be clarified for many with these lists is that top tiers for one character isn't always the same for another. Every character has their own tier list, not only that, but the playstyle of the player using them may also add to match-up varieties. There's so many variables you can take into consideration. Some trash characters have better odds against some characters that yal consider top tiers, and some trash characters are my worst nightmare. I think depending on the character you play it can vary. I've never had an issue against Feng, even in 7. I know he's good but I've personally felt like I had an answer to most of his stuff, more than most characters. But Claudio? Even in 8, I hate him more than Azucena.
I main steve, if you main Steve you'll quickly realise that he lacks MANY of the typical moves most tekken players have: a staple df2 laucher for exapmle, a sweep laucher(or on CH) a staple laucher hopkick, an orbital (anything that can be abused to launch and start combo) Steve doesn't have or it's locked behind a stance, and even then you lose to frames with his launchers. Steve mains are forced to quickly become advanced at the game, Steve players in tekken 8 don't have the ability to be agressive in a game that is all about agression. Instead we frame trap, mis-time and MUST have high execution at the ready because his move list can also be quite complex to execute a guaranteed wall carry combo. Steve mains are quickly forced to learn the more advanced concepts of Tekken. It's a harder path, but satisfying when you execute. We are essentially forced to play like regular human boxers against opponents who can do amazing superhuman things.(And street fighter opponents:Devil Jin and Feng)
More like 2/3 Steve is not down played. I can’t think of an easier character to play against. Now I can still lose but that’s just because the opponent is way better
If youre getting blown up by Steve Fox in Tekken 8, youre probably pressing way too many buttons. Compared to the bulk of the cast the force feed you 50/50s, Steve just cant do that.
Turtle him, block standing, his range sucks, his lows are generally weak and his strongest tools are highs in a game where high crushing in excessive.

The thing about Reina, it's she's easy to spam flow charts with, yeah she looks difficult to master, but you don't need to do that to be oppressive on ranked, so that's why people say she's easy.

There really are no terrible characters in this game. If a character seems bad,, it’s only due to the four or five characters that are OP. Those characters create the point of comparison.
Those comments ur reading are people being frustrated from losing to those characters in purple and yellow ranks , people tend to only master their character and not learn any matchups , instead they learn the matchups only when they play ranked matches and complain why they're hardstuck and can't improve

@@KoufalKoufax I mean. What’s “hard”? Characters that are more prone to input errors? Characters that have less plus frames than Hwoarang? Once you have fundamentals, it’s just about learning a character and encoding everything into muscle memory. After that, there are no hard characters. There are just characters that are okay and characters that tend to break the game. That being said, Bryan is one of the better characters in the game. This game is all about launching and comboing. It’s been like that since Tekken 6 and not it’s just worse.

Gotta admit, I hate going all out with calling some characters carried etc, but its just too obvious at times in ranked matches.
Im low purple and there's a tremendous skill difference in fundamentals. To a certain extand I am also able to predict people's skills/flowcharts, playstyles, depending on char/rank.
I think only once have i seen a law in red ranks who wasn't just spamming obvious half brain gimmick stuff. Also, most of these dont remaych xd
I fought a purple rank law who just stood still until I get closer and he just spams his power crush. I was baffled, speecheless even. Free win I guess, but it was a revelating moment that not all people of the same rank are built the same.
i think a lot of the reina slander comes from the fact that a huge amount of people aren't playing her in her intended role, which is RUSHDOWN. she excels as a rushdown character in every sense.
rushdown isn't just about pressing buttons to overwhelm your opponent; *the ability to get your turn back* (with her parries for example) and *tricking your opponent into making mistakes* (transitions into her different stances and cancelable moves) are other core aspects that you need to keep in mind when playing a rushdown character.
that's why mainman keeps emphasizing the fact that you have to be really quick on your feet be able to adjust/react to what is happening at any point in the match. if you don't, you will lose a lot of what makes her so good.
couple that with the mishima legacy side she has, execution demands and all the complex interactions between her own moves and you have a VERY DIFFICULT character to pilot. every interaction reina wins has to be earned (which mainman said as well in the first tierlist video: "she would be s tier but she has to work way too hard.")

You're being disingenuous. You can watch any random high level match to see a pro player get repeatedly blown up by ff+2 in the neutral - it's just that good and those people are complaining about the same things that casuals are, for the first time in any Tekken game.
Lets not even mention the absurd range on her heat smash. Play who you want to play but don't act like your character isn't handcrafted to bypass legacy skill - it is what it is.

She just feels objectively bad. I tried her after playing Steve and my god she's just unnecessarily complicated for (seemingly) dog water results. Like, wtf is that scarecrow stance? No good lows, completely unsafe moves on block as in you literally can't block in the stance. Tarantula seems like gimmicky garbage. And last of all, an absolutely stunted backdash. Her normal moves outside of stance, really bad. If people knew the matchup she'd be the single worst character in the game bar none. Bottom 5: Steve, Asuka, Panda (not Kuma), Leroy (I haven't come up against him, I hear he's terrible) .............. Zafina.

The problem with this community is the fact that people take TMM's opinions on characters and attribute them to their own ranks, while TMM is talking solely for elite-level play. You're not god's gift to the world for playing Reina in Fujin, you're just spamming strings. What is weak for elite-level play may be overpowered on lower ranks and vice-versa.

You absolutely dump on all the characters i like. But i understand you are doing a bit. You are exaggerating your opinions for entertainment.
I find Alisa really fun to play and kinda love the absolute BS she can pull, so call me a chipmunk and i'll take it, my smooth brain still can't handle anything more complicated.
