I knew but understood why it was a private thing. I am proud of you, and it is a difficult thing but something that brings freedom and joy. Just keep being yourself, and don't let anyone stop you. As I mentioned in Adam's post comments, it took me 40 plus years to accept that I'm gay and less than 7 months to embrace who I am and believe in me. You are always loved and embraced for who you are Joe. I'd like to meet you as well one day.
As a fellow gay guy it's so nice to see more guys coming out as gay. And with the engagement ring I have on my finger being engaged to my fiancé everyone assumes I have a lady in my life and are then shocked when I say I'm gay. Sometimes it's annoying and I don't say anything

When I was born, and until I was a teenager, being a practising gay was illegal! Well done for coming out! There MUST BE NO GOING BACK to the awful days of my youth. Even after 'it' became legalised (ie for the over 21yo) there was still A LOT of homophibia in society. Post PM Margaret Thatcher, things have become much easier. I recognise so much of this - even the not saying you're gay thing. I've said things like "girls aren't my thing" just because saying the actual word was hard. Even though he's joking around, it's obvious keeping it a secret for so long had taken its toll and it's just healthier to put it out there because it's a weight off. Plus videos like this do help people still in the closet.

Hi Gavin, yes it is weird that in 2023 that coming out should be an issue. However, there are still so many homophobes out there. Adam B has seen so many of them comment on his recent videos. Some of the things they have said to Adam and his boyfriend Dom have been really bad. So no wonder many LGBTQ+ people still feel scared to come out.

As a (straight)58 year old woman I have been saying since the 80s that I have no idea why people feel the need for others to “come out.” It’s just plain old nosiness and bullying.
