This has been explained in a way that is very logical to me. I really liked the English context at the start of the video. Somehow, that set me up to relax and absorb the lesson. Great video.

Excellent. And in case the English case isn't complicated enough, in the US we say "ON the weekend". :)

Well, Lan, those complications don't seem to have phased you, because your English is absolutely kick-ass wonderful. Almost unbelievable!!! How much time have you spent in English-speaking countries?

Actually none haha. I've never lived anywhere else apart from Hanoi. I've just been travelling :) I think I learnt from all the cheesy songs I listened to when I was small :)

OMG, then I'd say you have an incredible ear and capacity for languages. I've studied a number of languages (I'm Olllllld), some of which I know pretty well, but I take my hat off to you!

I wonder if this is as transparent in the east as it in the west.

nhận gọi món cuối cùng sẽ vào lúc mười giò tối
Do you know when you use vào lúc together like this example above? Or is vào in this example not used as a preposition for time? Like: vào trong nhà

we do say things like "Lúc sáng", "lúc chiều" but it refers to a specific point in time (this morning, this afternoon), so it functions like telling time in a way :)
