In this episode of Built Not Bought we finally get started on the paint job! I will be doing this myself with guidance from a family member who’s had experience in the paint industry. It will be a closed-door spray and done without the use of a paint booth. Many hours of sanding is what it takes for a good paint job and the quality is all on the prep work. I keep the colour white to avoid repainting the engine bay, interior and door jams but add a little something special to make it flicker in the sun 😉

My Story
For the past few years I have become more and more obsessed with travelling this great country in a 4WD. Just getting from point A to point B with the maximum amount of fun and excitement it what it’s all about for me.
My first 4WD was a Nissan Patrol and I have had one ever since, this build is my take on what would make the ultimate touring vehicle to do what I love most.
I hope to one day build myself a 4WD empire to make the unreachable, reachable to others. By providing them with a means of transport like no other, transport that is BUILT NOT BOUGHT…

Just bush painted my 4.2 ute. Except I paid $200 for a window guy to remove my windscreen and rear window. Note to self, don't cut the rear window rubber unless you like patrolapart to hurt your bum. Loving the vids mate, keep on it.

Nice work looks good, but yeah shouldn’t paint 2k Clear over acrylic, acrylic never fully hardens and will move under the 2k, as 2k drys like a rock so will eventually crack
you forgot the part where you pray to the paint gods that the wind doesn't come up or bugs don't land on it

Skip 3 minutes of BS...you'll thank me. Actually after watching this...scary...using 2 pack without being covered up...plain stupid...using 2 pack outdoors and not in a safe enclosure...stupid and completely irresponsible.
