UFC Champions Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell faced each other for the third time in Oscar Dela Hoya's first mixed martial arts promotion for Golden Boy. Chael Sonnen gives his thoughts on this You're Welcome podcast. - Розваги
Chael the only guy to know how Kevin Lee fits into all of this.
not sure if you guys gives a damn but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown :)
@Leighton Cristian yup, been using Instaflixxer for years myself :D
Yes Chael, we all have bad days but our bad days don't end in neurological damage.
Mine do.
Yes, that's the stupidest analogy i've heard in a long time and I thought Chael was one of the smarter fighters. Chuck on the other hand is like a child who can see no consequences of his actions. "I just love to fight." And ruined his legacy by getting constantly knocked out in a row. He could have done anything with the resources and contacts after his career. I guess he couldn't come up with anything else after all the fame, success and money he's had than to get beaten stupid once again. Not sad only stupid.
@@ristoraaska2591 That fight doesn't ruin his legacy. We all remember him as the iceman. In 10 years time this fight will be forgotten.
our bad days don't end in neurological damage...
unless you headbutt the CEO.
@@ristoraaska2591 you can’t really fault Chuck for this, the man obviously has some degree of CTE and probably lacks a lot of impulse control, with guys like that it’s the responsibility for those around him to tell him no, De La Hoya and Ortiz should never have even considered offering the fight to Chuck
Who would love to see an MMA round table of Legends in the sport? Of course, hosted by none other than Chael P.
Chael hosting a round table of 6 Chaels discussing mma

Here’s the real assessment.... The ONLY victory Tito had was in overcoming his fear of defeat against a man who, because of age, was no longer able to not only defend himself, but to mount any meaningful offense. Tito’s only challenge was at weigh-in. God bless Chuck. Hope the old man is gonna be ok.
It wasn't age. That's not an old version of Chuck. That's Chuck with severe CTE...I'm stunned that people are acting like Chuck was just old or didn't train for the fight when his brain is completely traumatized from 20 years of concussions and he took the most damage at the end of his career. I was horrified and sad when I watched Chuck hit pads and move around the gym...he was painfully slow and somewhat incoherent. Should have never happened. Chuck is my all time favorite fighter...we have never seen anyone like him before or since and the UFC has not had a champion at light heavyweight like Chuck Liddell since Chuck Liddell. I just hope he's happy now and doesn't end up depressed and unable to speak one day
@@k.c.r.5974he’s not your all time favorite fighter lmao settle down
@@booprice5473 say what? He's my all time favorite light heavyweight champion in UFC history. You will never see anything like Chuck Liddell again...
I feel bad for Liddel. Surprised how bad he looked.
Same. I've seen plenty of aging fighters in boxing, mma and kickboxing but Chuck looked like he had nothing to add.
maybe shoudlve watched some training footage of him before the fight. it was very sad.
He didn't spa, next time he needs to make sure to go to the spah. Also he needs to spar.
bernard and klitchko and of course dan and randy and yoel romero and dc are good examples of old people performing very well but so sad liddel didn't do so well I think it has something to do with him setting on a couch for 8 years and just training for a few months.

Let me offer you this...
An offer from the American Gangster is one you can't refuse.
ya boi little pickles nah I’m good. thanks
Can I offer u a can of “ya boi little pickles”
Gotta love Uncle Chael.
But how good is .....
I think it's pretty reasonable to say that what we witnessed from Chuck far exceeds "having a bad day."
The new question I offer you is just how big a fan Chael Sonnen is of Limp Bizkit and where does Fred Durst fit into this
He prefers fitted caps, so it'll be a tough fit.
Well, let me offer you this....
I think that a lot of people thought that where Chuck hadn't taken any head trauma in 8 years, that maybe his chin had gotten somewhat better. I don't believe the general audience knows very much on head trauma so it was the belief that he could take a few shots and still go, even if it wasn't the Chuck of 2005. It was very sad to see how bad Chuck did look. I was even shocked, eventhough I expected this result. I just didn't think it would be so bad and one sided. I hope that he never fights again for his own safety and I don't want him to ruin his legacy the way that Ken Shamrock has.
I love hearing Chael talk! Talks so much sense...a man who has clearly learned a lot from life!!
where does Kevin Lee fit into all this?
David Radford, hahaha 😄!
I offer you this
I'll enjoy this comment for a meaningful period of time
I don't have the foggiest idea where he fits into all this.
Elias Kaser what are u talking about dummy. Kevin Lee is a lightweight in his prime fighting in the UFC. Wtf would he have to do with two old men fighting in some BS promotion,
🤦♂️ smh casuals.
Good work again Chael with this right analysis. "ON POINT " like most of the times!
I couldn't help but smile when Chael said Tito sucks,
(cause he technically has a loss against him)
because I'm usually the guy that defends Chael to the death. ''Tito tapped", or "Chael was playing rope a dope with Fedor"! are my classics.
You're my newest fan, I don't know why I never heard your podcasts before. Interesting insights.
Just how good is this channel? Seriously I love chael
I watched an interview with Coach Hackleman and he said that chuck asked him and he was against it and to negative from the beginning and chuck didnt want that negativity around his training camp. Hackleman said he would do it differently and would have wanted to be in his corner to help him with strategy and protect him but doesn't want chuck to fight anymore because he lost his chin.
You must be talking about the Helwani interview. I saw it last night.
@@Jerry12768 yes straight from the horses mouth.
Yeah I thought that was funny that Chael still doesn't watch Ariel's show. I think just to troll him. Lol
Haha “after I saw what I saw , I’m good “ love get Chael keep it up brother
I like listening to Chael as he is reasonable and honest, sometimes even inspired but always intelligent. He grows my interest in mma, as usually I have none.
Just how good is Chuck Liddell?
How good Is....Not was... Absolute animal in his prime, but had no business fighting at 48 years of age. Certainly not a fresh 48 either. He is no Bernard Hopkins, few are.
As "good" as CM Punk. Well, maybe not.
Well really Good over a Decade ago .
@Agnostic Monk I saw a video of Iron Mike hitting a heavy bag recently dude still has the nasty pop in his shots. I wouldn't put Iron Mike in Chuck's category.
Where does Tito Ortiz fit into all this?
Chael, you are the best commentator ever in any field no matter what. Hands down.
As a guy that trains Muay Thai(ive been doing it for 2 years and ongoing, and before that, jiu jitsu for over a year) I think that Chucks problem was, indeed like Chael suggested, a total lack of sparring. But I think it goes beyond that. I think that Chuck hasnt been training AT ALL in 8 years or however long its been since the rich franklin fight...and i also think he didnt spar AT ALL for this Tito fight. Also he's a big time partyier, loves to drink, and other things that arent good for a fighter to do...and he's been living that lifestyle for 8 years without stop, now. I think its time for Chuck to retire to be honest. He did look slow. He looked like he didnt know what he was doing, and he STILL relied on that hands low style of his that ONLY works if you are young and have fast reflexes, and Chuck has neither of those qualities....so combine all that with lack of sparring and prob lack of preparation in all other ways, and we got this travesty of a fight. He most definitely worked out at a normal gym though, lol. He looked physically healthy; had a six pack, didnt have much flab. But if you're gonna be a fighter you need to train like a fighter and that means REGULAR sparring. For me, I spar two days a week. If Chuck had sparred even as much as I do, I think he might have won.
Anyway, Tito made me pissed when he was EXTREMELY disrespectful after he KOed glass chin Chuck....going over to his dead body(unconscious) and doing the grave digger routine while shrieking like it was the world championship.. fuck you Tito. he never did that to you when he knocked your ass out TWICE when he was still a capable fighter. The entire show pissed me off and Oscar de la hoya is a fucking idiot that uses these guys maliciously. Chuck and Tito included.
I don’t think Chuck ever changed the way he fought after his chin was cracked, I always remember seeing him fighting in the cage like he still had a chin of steel but it was never the same, probably one of his biggest downfalls tbh. I agree also that Tito celebrating like he beat 34 yr old Liddell for the LH belt and disrespecting him was absolutely disgusting, idk if I knocked out a 50 yr old Chuck I would feel really fuckin guilty
Chael/ Tito 2. Make it happen. I love the og's. Tito gamed him with the faux tap. The build-up to that fight will be epic.
The Bad Guy vs the Melt Man
That made me laugh so much
Hahaha... ya got me good! 🤣
Chucks days were over when Rashad nearly killed him
Rich Franklin knocked out Chuck when Rich had a broken arm.
Rashad ended his career.. chuck just didn't realise it at the time

Looking good on mitts...
Reminds me of when Ali saw Foreman gloriously punishing the heavy bag much to the awe of the watching crowd...
Ali gets spotted, and quick as lightening before being escorted out, retorts... ''Bags don't hit back!''
Never a truer word said!
Dana blasting De La Hoya and those that let Chuck fight
That was funny, but everyone should be able to fight. It's your choice. Your life. Your body. If people wanna see it then okay. If not then fair fucks. Should still be allowed as long as you aren't forced.
@@CatnamedMittens it looks bad for golden boy promotions. He shouldn't have made that fight. The expectations for it were very low and they still weren't close to being met.
@@CatnamedMittens at a certain point as a promoter, your job is also to protect fighters from themselves
Dana jealous because De La Hoya made a boat load of money on this fight.
T Rex they made 200k ppv buys. Dana does that on his disappointing cards
Good and fair analysis Chael!
It's true what Chael says and what I've noticed as well. Chuck threw 2 or 3 hard and fast punches, but they missed and were easy to spot for Tito. I also think he was afraid to get gassed, combine that with ringrust, age, and injuries, this is what you get.
Those last couple lines said at the end of the video, straight cold blooded savage lol.
I love this channel. I think it is cute when Brendan talks like he is an mma fighter on his channel.
Actually Chuck hit Tito several times, but there was absolutely no power on his shots. Chuck also kept his hands low so we all knew what was coming next.
Chuck always kept hands low. Even in prime when ko ing everyone. That's his style. He just can't skip the punches like he use to
I hope nothing like this ever happens again... this was truly sad to see
Yep. Just as sad is how a mentally-depleted Tito acted like he was William the Conqueror for beating Chuck, like it was 2006 again. Two old guys 12 years out of their prime is not a legit fight, it's a charity match. Goddamn, it's like Nolan Ryan today winning an old-timers baseball game and acting like he just won the 1983 World Series.
That was a pretty good motivational speech by ole Chael
You are so telling the truth about fight training

Nice to see Chael and his pet dummy have made nice. Loved Joel on the podcast, what a loose cannon 😂
Ronda Rousey looked awesome on the mitts too...
I recently slipped on my weight loss diet...Chael's comment inspired me. "You get up the next day and you fix it." Hell yeah.
I don't think it would be in Chuck's best interest to get back in the gym and start getting repetitively knocked out through sparring headgear by guys who are pulling their punches and kicks. Even if you're right about him "not being able to hit the target," and "only needing more practice," the fact remains that his chin is 100% shot and that's something he will never get back. All fighting will do for him now is expedite his inability to hold a coherent conversation and/or remember where he put his keys.
Chuck robbed Chael's Uber, true story !!!
i dont understand why u are making him down, he tried it, he is a legend who couldnt leave his past... i have even more respect for chuck now, than before...
Hi, you are very articulate !
Ending was awesome, we're good...
John refused to train him. He was VERY much against him doing it again. (Chuck fighting)
Chuck is a glass Canon these days. Still has power, with a broken glass chin.
I didn't know about Hackleman's absence until I saw his interview with Helwani. I was already thinking Tito would win, but If I would have known about John I would have bet my house on him.
Wait what? You saw "power" from chuck in that fight? We must have watch different fights. I saw a badly aged man who had lossed EVERYTHING that made him a champ on multiple occasions.
Lol. Never said I SAW power from Chuck. But, according to father time, in history...that's always the last to go.
We saw but a shadow of what he used to be. It was sad.
@@eclipseshineswhite no I know you didn't say it, but you said "still has power" if he does, he certainly decided to hide it very well lol. I didn't see power, or movement, anything at all that even pointed to the fact this guy fought for many years, even won multiple WC's. He looked like he'd never been in the octogon before lol.

True. When Chuck was walking in in his suit, he was walking like an old man - problems with his back/hips .... Tito looked like Tito looked back in the day. Father Time is undefeated.

GSP came back after a 4 year hiatus better than ever
I don't believe gsp ever stopped training
GSP is not almost 50 and he still has his speed and healthy jaw. Iceman's best fighting days are way behind him. Forever a legend.
He fought an average fighter in bisping, who knows how good he really is. There is a reason he wont take certain fights because he is scared of losing. Thats his words
And there is a huge difference in coming back at 37, and coming back at 49. Not sure of eithers exact age but its close
No he didn't lmfao. He lost a few rounds and was slower and gassing out.
Are we talking about the same fight?
It's hard to spar when a strong gust of wind can knock you out like I said b4 the fight it's nice that Chuck came out of retirement but no one told his chin
It was definitely sad to watch, I've never seen someone punch sooooo slow in my life. I can only equate Chuck's punching to a play fight slow mo air battle.
3:40 LOL
CM Punk would’ve whooped Chuck’s ass that night. Seriously, people rip on Punk but compare his last fight to Chuck’s, It’s night and day. I hope Chuck doesn’t fight ever again.
StepKickKing I don’t think so dude I feel like Chuck can still knock someone out in one punch ... Punk doesn’t have the head movement hed get clipped IMO

Hackleman refused to help train chuck!
Much respect to him. He talks about it to Ariel Hawani.
In terms of mental health and CTE, should he be sparring? And maybe he wasn't sparring because of it but he has taken alot of damage and even light sparring still involves shots to the head so I'm not sure he can train like that

I know he was sparring guys. I know chuck somewhat. He was doing each facet individually. Not sure about MMa rounds. Most definitely grappling and stand up as an individual
That being said. Everyone knew he shouldn’t have fought. It was a bit deceiving because he physically looked incredible. Guess nobody escapes the hands of time
I didn’t even know about the fight until the next day
And let me offer you this, just how good is Chuck lidel's coke plug?
That's all well and good, but what are the intangibles?
Oh my god never been here this early
If someone in his personal life encourages him to fight after the recent event I think it's short-sighted and in many ways would be ignoring the reality. The desire or the will to fight does not mean that you should. There are things we all avoid because we know where the road ends. I don't want to see that happen to Chuck. It's about being able to live. At a certain point it can't be about what someone desires. And I recognize fighting is all he knows and loves but you're playing with fire.
Chael sounds like he calling out Tito....lol....hope he is, I'd love to see Chael get another shot at Tito.
Tito has said many times he wants to fight Chael. He said he'll come out of retirement.
He was definitely limping. I got a chance to see him and talk with him after the weigh ins. Not to excuse his lackluster performance but I believe that limp had a small, negative impact on his performance that night.
9:50 coach hackleman gave an interview on Ariel helwanis show...he didn't want chuck to fight, and this didn't want to be part of the fight
