Yes, that's the stupidest analogy i've heard in a long time and I thought Chael was one of the smarter fighters. Chuck on the other hand is like a child who can see no consequences of his actions. "I just love to fight." And ruined his legacy by getting constantly knocked out in a row. He could have done anything with the resources and contacts after his career. I guess he couldn't come up with anything else after all the fame, success and money he's had than to get beaten stupid once again. Not sad only stupid.

Here’s the real assessment.... The ONLY victory Tito had was in overcoming his fear of defeat against a man who, because of age, was no longer able to not only defend himself, but to mount any meaningful offense. Tito’s only challenge was at weigh-in. God bless Chuck. Hope the old man is gonna be ok.

    • @k.c.r.5974

It wasn't age. That's not an old version of Chuck. That's Chuck with severe CTE...I'm stunned that people are acting like Chuck was just old or didn't train for the fight when his brain is completely traumatized from 20 years of concussions and he took the most damage at the end of his career. I was horrified and sad when I watched Chuck hit pads and move around the gym...he was painfully slow and somewhat incoherent. Should have never happened. Chuck is my all time favorite fighter...we have never seen anyone like him before or since and the UFC has not had a champion at light heavyweight like Chuck Liddell since Chuck Liddell. I just hope he's happy now and doesn't end up depressed and unable to speak one day

I think that a lot of people thought that where Chuck hadn't taken any head trauma in 8 years, that maybe his chin had gotten somewhat better. I don't believe the general audience knows very much on head trauma so it was the belief that he could take a few shots and still go, even if it wasn't the Chuck of 2005. It was very sad to see how bad Chuck did look. I was even shocked, eventhough I expected this result. I just didn't think it would be so bad and one sided. I hope that he never fights again for his own safety and I don't want him to ruin his legacy the way that Ken Shamrock has.

As a guy that trains Muay Thai(ive been doing it for 2 years and ongoing, and before that, jiu jitsu for over a year) I think that Chucks problem was, indeed like Chael suggested, a total lack of sparring. But I think it goes beyond that. I think that Chuck hasnt been training AT ALL in 8 years or however long its been since the rich franklin fight...and i also think he didnt spar AT ALL for this Tito fight. Also he's a big time partyier, loves to drink, and other things that arent good for a fighter to do...and he's been living that lifestyle for 8 years without stop, now. I think its time for Chuck to retire to be honest. He did look slow. He looked like he didnt know what he was doing, and he STILL relied on that hands low style of his that ONLY works if you are young and have fast reflexes, and Chuck has neither of those qualities....so combine all that with lack of sparring and prob lack of preparation in all other ways, and we got this travesty of a fight. He most definitely worked out at a normal gym though, lol. He looked physically healthy; had a six pack, didnt have much flab. But if you're gonna be a fighter you need to train like a fighter and that means REGULAR sparring. For me, I spar two days a week. If Chuck had sparred even as much as I do, I think he might have won.
Anyway, Tito made me pissed when he was EXTREMELY disrespectful after he KOed glass chin Chuck....going over to his dead body(unconscious) and doing the grave digger routine while shrieking like it was the world championship.. fuck you Tito. he never did that to you when he knocked your ass out TWICE when he was still a capable fighter. The entire show pissed me off and Oscar de la hoya is a fucking idiot that uses these guys maliciously. Chuck and Tito included.

I don’t think Chuck ever changed the way he fought after his chin was cracked, I always remember seeing him fighting in the cage like he still had a chin of steel but it was never the same, probably one of his biggest downfalls tbh. I don't think it would be in Chuck's best interest to get back in the gym and start getting repetitively knocked out through sparring headgear by guys who are pulling their punches and kicks. Even if you're right about him "not being able to hit the target," and "only needing more practice," the fact remains that his chin is 100% shot and that's something he will never get back. All fighting will do for him now is expedite his inability to hold a coherent conversation and/or remember where he put his keys.

@@eclipseshineswhite no I know you didn't say it, but you said "still has power" if he does, he certainly decided to hide it very well lol. I didn't see power, or movement, anything at all that even pointed to the fact this guy fought for many years, even won multiple WC's. He looked like he'd never been in the octogon before lol.

If someone in his personal life encourages him to fight after the recent event I think it's short-sighted and in many ways would be ignoring the reality. The desire or the will to fight does not mean that you should. There are things we all avoid because we know where the road ends. I don't want to see that happen to Chuck. It's about being able to live. At a certain point it can't be about what someone desires. And I recognize fighting is all he knows and loves but you're playing with fire.
