I think they’re gonna get rid of Simons too because it’s going to go scoot,Shannon,Denni Grant, Ayton then you got Bannon,Clingan, Duop, camara. that leaves thybulle, Simons,Williams and have a good enough answer becomes available Grant for trade, including what players we back off trade. The youth movement will be in full effect after this summer.

Simons is more part of the Olshey era. Different GM and time period. This is the Cronin era and he wants to mold the team his way. Simons hogs the ball and is a giant defensive liability on the defensive end. He simply just doesn't fit. Send Simons to a team he can run and dominate the ball. Both sides will benefit from this much needed trade

If we get into trade talks with Dallas for Jerami Grant, I would like Portland to get Josh Green. Even though he is another guard he is taller at 6’5” and he is an aggressive and physical guard who could help with defense for a team like Portland.

All Deni fans move here from Locked on Wizards. Wizards front office are total idiots. Deni was best player last year. He had better averages than Bridges after the all star break, playing with Jordan Pool as a point guard!
Deni might want to leave for a winning team. He is perfect 3/4 option on a contender.

To me, the lack of drafting could mean one of three things. 1: They did this because they have some trades in mind. 2:They have no trades ahead and are full 3: They feel that next year will be a good draft, so the next few years after next years draft they have a steady line of rookies coming in.

If the Blazers had picked players at 34 and 40, could they have those players in summer league or on the team or must they drop two other players? I was thinking it was a wise move to see two more players who may be total wins for the blazers like Brock Purdy for 49ers. Why did we not try to find a second round gem like other teams do?

Jerami Grant has real value to the young core as a veteran leader. I'd keep him.
Simons and Ayton gotta go though!
Orlando has cap room and lots of future 1st rnd picks.
On paper, Simons and Ayton would fit into that Orlando group perfectly.
I purpose Ayton and Simons for combo guard Anthony Black, center Wendell Carter, and three 1st round picks.
Rebuild this the right way. Wendell Carter and Robert Williams are insurance behind Clingan, and Anthony Black who was a high lottery pick, slides into that role Simons had.
Stockpile 1st round picks and get under the salary cap. Let your core young bucks gel together.
You're trying to suck again this year anyway. Problem might be that that combination I suggested might be pretty decent. Not playoffs, but low in the lottery level probably. 😅

I think they should've drafted Adem Bona would've been a solid high-energy backup in a pinch that plays good defense (5-10min or when bigs are injured as they always are with the Blazers). Also, Tyler Kolek or Juan Nunez would've made great backups to Scoot and would be nice to have if Scoot got hurt. If Blazers actually decide to move forward with Scoot and Sharpe who is Scoot's backup if he's not available or needs a break?? Both Kolek and Nunez were PG's that have a real art passing and finding players. Not what most PG's are today, which is basically really talented "scorers" that can handle the ball enough and are "capable" of making "decent" passes. Kolek and Nunez were actually the best passers in the draft and were both available too. And, having a high-energy big that plays defense like Bona is never a bad idea. Those type of players are far and few, in the NBA.

  • @bitcloud2304
    @bitcloud2304 7 місяців тому

Glad we didn't do anything significant in the second round. I love Kolek but we ended up shipping him to the Knicks. The one player we did get is more likely to end up on the Remix.
I still don't know that Clingan will be much more than Roy Hibbert/Kessler Walker, but the argument could be made that teams need to be drafting size and developing that size because Wemby is going to be a problem moving forward for teams with or without it. I also think the Avdija deal was a shrewd move. A welcome conclusion to months of despair and disarray.

Joe and his team didn’t see players available in the second round that deserve a spot on the roster. Portland has at least 5 players that are set to be traded away for picks or multiple players in a trade. Why in the world would he want to fill a spot with a second round pick in what is already looked at as a weak draft? Reality is he might already have a deal on the table to bring in 2 for 1 player deal. That is why opening up cap room in the Brogdon trade was genius.

Only people I would trade are rob williams and Thybulle, We have alot of depth right now and need it with all our young injury prone players (including Clingan). While I understand why it makes sense intellectually, I’m not a proponent of going another year of losing on purpose (I just can’t take it emotionally 😢). Losing on purpose is giving up Simons for a future draft pick. He’s still young and an elite scorer…they don’t just grow on trees. Simons/Scoot, Sharpe/Banton, Avdija/Grant, Williams/Reathe and Ayton/Clingan is a team full of legitimate starters with depth. With good coaching that’s a potentially competitive team. Not championship caliber but that’s not going to happen until either Shaedon pops or we get lucky in the draft. The other thing people forget is injuries. We can’t have enough good players because they always get hurt and if that depth isn’t there you’re hosed.

Simon’s gotta go. Anybody with sense or non bias knows this. Keeping him is prolong inevitable. Him and scoot playing together won’t work. Trade grant too all they need is picks too no room formore young player

Trading Simons & counting on scoot and sharp is idiotic. Ant fits in with a rebuild beautifully

@livingthefight3539 Ayton has 2 years left. His ideal trade time would be next year, after he has a full, solid season here instead of after this kinda messy one. Plus, he's only 25. 100% worth keeping around, dude. There's also never a guarantee a rookie pans out.
