Howdy! I want to express how much I genuinely enjoy watching the progression of the Nameless Deity. To me, the theming of the boss (Cosmological/Meta) is well produced through the sound, sprites, attacks, and every little detail which really enriches the experience (such as the redshift when the player is near the black hole; the glimpse of the title screen and the overall usage of the "fourth wall breaking"). I know this is still practically a work in progress; but it still feels leagues more polished and organized than what I've seen recently. Of course, the style of the boss is meant to stand alone as its own separate identity, but overall I'm always happy to see the updates every so often! To the team working on this mod, I extend my sincere and heartfelt compliments and endowments. My words alone can barely express the gratitude I wish to deliver. Nonetheless, fantastic job so far!
The bass-boosted laser literally vaporizing you was by far my favorite part. It's slightly silly, but still *horrifically* menacing. I absolutely adore all of the little details in this fight. SO excited for this to come out. Keep going, we're all rooting for you!
I have a couple ideas but I think they are pretty ambitious. My first idea is to make (Zerok?) hands to be more like the master hand or something similar. My second Idea could be a deathmode exclusive or whatever but I feel like the sun attack in death mode or master mode should be a blue giant and should be bigger and radiate gas, and when the sun is shrunk it should have an explosion also for the black hole it should have an accretion disk and shoot gamma rays (lasers) out the sides and when it spins around you it rotates the lasers instead of just projectiles going to the black hole. Also, this might just be me but I feel like the giant laser should be more visible because it is really hard to see
I like the detail where its wings are different colors when using the cosmic death ray, I thought of an attack were its themed around rage/adren and it can use them after destroying your rage and adren. also, the 10th vid on the Nameless Deity is on the horizon, hope to see something cool!

The presentation does an overall fantastic job at making you feel like you are fighting a being that is only barely confined within this game. As for the gameplay? I don't see a whole lot to note. It has a couple pretty interesting attacks like its sword and quasar, but the majority of the attacks seem like a cranked up Empress of light with more deathrays, or just usual bullet hell shenanigans. The fact that it even moves like Revengeance/Death mode EoL makes it feel pretty noticeable. Is it a bad fight? No clue (will have to play for myself to know for sure (likely won't because I don't want to redownload Calamity)), but I don't see anything beyond its sheer spectacle that makes it stand out. For some odd reason, I want to see it drink tea.
Since this will be part of the Noxus addon, you should add a message (to my master) if you try to use the Nox spray on the Nameless Deity, reminding you that it is the 0.01% of higher beings.
i absolutely love where this has gone i just have one critique: i think the audio volume of different attacks need to be better balanced, some parts seem quiet/muffled compared to others, particularly the beginning laser attacks and portal things compared to the black hole and clock. otherwise the sound design is fantastic its very unique and otherworldly, perfect for this boss
Holy crap, it became even more visually stunning now! I really loved the redesign of the huge spellcast AoE in the last part, the previous versions seemed underwhelming but oh boy does it look gorgeous now! I cant wait to see this in its full glory
This looks so great! I just have one question: Is there going to be compatibility for the calamity mod menu type at the end of the fight? I know it's just a little thing, but I think it would add a bit to the ending.
Nu It would be a cool effect, but Terraria's music engine is incredibly restrictive as is and even if it were a trivial task the other "major" attacks in the third phase all stop the music. Having the clock also change it would kind of ruin any ability to enjoy it at that point, since it'd be constantly going from on to off over and over

if you actually get booted into main menu I highly recommend not doing that, that's bound to cause save corruptions lol I did that before as a test and after ~200 tests it broke the world twice and character 4 times, on multiplayer it was basically guaranteed to mess up something though
THIS IS AWESOME WORK! I have some feedback as a player that gets overwhelmed when a lot of visual effects are on screen, if you don’t mind: - 1:28, the twinkle explosion attack from the background into the projectile blast: This feedback depends on whether there’s a hitbox when the twinkle explode or not, but if there is then these twinkles need to have a lot more contrast compared to the stars in the background. It’s very easy to mistake the two. Maybe a circle or a lingering particle would suffice? I can see you’ve already thought of this by dimming the background, but I believe that you can go a little but further. - 3:10, the player disappearing when getting hit by the greatest laser of all time. While awesome, I can see myself / other players getting hit by the geometric attacks because they can’t see their player character and getting frustrated. As a solution, maybe have the sun follow the player a lot more closely during this section instead of lagging behind so players can always tell where they are? - Also, I feel there isn’t enough contrast between the white of the aftertrail of getting hit vs the laser (specifically whiter parts) itself which diminished the impact slightly. Can be fixed by changing the ratio of white vs purple in the laser or by a slight tone shift. - 1:38- I find it extremely hard to tell where the initial bullets are coming from on the nameless deity. Maybe an animation where it’s moving its hands to the bullet spawn location would make it clearer? It’s hard to tell if this is an actual attack (with a hitbox) or set-up for the attack at 1:41. Overall, really nice job! I love the sword attack and the everything to do with the star + blackhole, I think i’ll find those really fun to dodge. Plus the time reversal is absolutely insanely cool. Thank you for your hard work!
Something I just thought of is that is that if the sun does lock onto your position during the giga-laser attack, this means theres always a bright background to the player. This is an opportunity to add in an animation to rebuild the player character after they get hit by the laser, since there will always be enough contrast for the player to see it, rather than the player just popping back into existence.
I agree on point 1, and have implemented a brighter backglow to contrast things To clarify on point 2, that sun isn't part of the attack, it's simply a light pet that the boss drops I had equipped. The way the laser works by the time the obliteration animation ends you are 100% dead. It's effect is a bit like that of Sans, where you have low s and take moderate amounts of damage, resulting in HP being shredded For 3 it is indeed a setup attack. I wouldn't make projectiles moving at such speeds have the potential to do damage, there'd be way too little of a reaction time window
OHHH I see how the bullet attack works now- I did not notice that the rapid fire setup at 1:38 hangs those bullets in the air to then attack at 1:41. My mind thought those were the background stars again lol. And thanks for clarifying the mega laser part. I do think the obliteration animation should end a bit sooner in this case then, so players can see their character while dodging the lasers. Or maybe its a bug and the shader that turns the player black is still applied after they leave the zone (idk). Either way, keep up the good work! Thanks for taking the time to respond to me.
Will the boss intereact with the difficultys so more diffrent skill level players can enjoy it like maby on lower ones there would be less projectiles longer wait times between attacks or just removing some altogether but i love this thing anyways Yes this is more for me because "skill issue" or whatever

@@rosant7074Have to agree with the other guy, but not for the same reason. Personally, I don't think it fits given his current theming. The Boss Rush OST works well during their respective fights because it gives off a challenging, one-against-many vibe. Plus, it's too clean and melodic for Xeroc's current form here. Twisted Garden (or at least what was shown during its trailer) works much better for Xeroc.
I'm wondering, considering the major laser attack is turning you into dust, if that attack should do some small amount of damage *per frame* you're inside the blast, bypassing all invincibility frame checks. Something like 10 dmg / frame. Would mean you'd take around 600 damage in a second.
idk if this is intentional or not, but the orientation of the hands when breaking the rage and adrenaline looks odd to me because the hands look flipped, if its intentional than ignore this
According to Nameless Deity 5, after you return to the title screen, you receive his drops upon entering the world again, with the loading and tip text being "You have passed the test" pasted over and over again. Apparently, those words also show up on the title screen the first time you kill him. Though that was Nameless Deity 5, so things could have changed that Dominic hasn't shown yet.
I see you made it so the final attack doesn't get interrupted anymore, just a shame it ended on such a long attack... Maybe make it so when the boss reaches 10-5% hp their attacks have less repetition and start being fast right away. So many attacks start of slow and then repeat as they can faster and faster, maybe make it so in the last phase they just start from the fast part of the attack and then quickly change to another quick attack. What do you think?
Thoughts on this update: This ones petty, but: forgot to change description "Wanted to have smth on that was different from the boss rush music" Theme is back to boss rush 2. 0:15 Definitely prefer the old sound over the new one, the old one made it sound like he was literally slicing reality in half, whilst this one would make much more sense for orion's sword had some effects be put on it. 0:29 love the new effects & sound effects for these beams, that's kinda it though I do hope at some point this attack gets more variations / patterns later on. 0:49 hehe black hole messing with graphics 1:20 the hexagon reality split having no SFX seems extremely off, though I'll just assume this ones a bug.| 3:00 and 3:30 I really hope you add s to [REDACTED] for his ultimate, as with other videos, and going off of what others have said, it's pretty anticlimactic for him to be able to be killed mid-attack, you could even make it similar to Infernum SCal and make it be a much longer attack, or a combo, it seems right now that he just gets s until he finishes his current attack, and it's not bad, but it'd fit much more if he only pulled out the giant space laser for when he hits 0%. Overall, looking forward to the final product Dominic!
For some reason the slice lines seem to have lost their sound, the intention was to have the swooshing knife sounds as an additional layer where you can hear them whoosh past the player. It's not meant to be a replacement
Suggestion for Nameless 10: I noticed the attacks don’t inflict any debuffs yet. I’ve got a few ideas to mix it up even further: Supergravity: Inflicted from getting hit by the Quasar attack, disables the 6th, and 7th accessory slot and reduces your attack by 99% for a few seconds. Orion’s Curse: Inflicted from getting hit by the Orion blade attack, reverses horizontal controls, halves total armor value, and disables natural health & mana regen and healing potions for a few seconds. Chronosis: Inflicted by the clock attack, Character movement speed is halved and dashes are disabled for a few seconds. Cosmic Insanity: Inflicted by the weird rapid sword slashing attack or using a teleportation item, teleports are disabled and the boss projectile velocity and attack speed is increased a bit for a few seconds. Dematerialization: Inflicted if you get hit too many times throughout the fight, disables player immunity frames, natural life regen, and mana regen for the rest of the fight.

@@rosant7074Have to agree with the other guy, but not for the same reason. Personally, I don't think it fits given his current theming. The Boss Rush OST works well during their respective fights because it gives off a challenging, one-against-many vibe. Plus, it's too clean and melodic for Xeroc's current form here. Twisted Garden (or at least what was shown during its trailer) works much better for Xeroc.

I'm wondering, considering the major laser attack is turning you into dust, if that attack should do some small amount of damage *per frame* you're inside the blast, bypassing all invincibility frame checks. Something like 10 dmg / frame. Would mean you'd take around 600 damage in a second.

idk if this is intentional or not, but the orientation of the hands when breaking the rage and adrenaline looks odd to me because the hands look flipped, if its intentional than ignore this
its sick tho I love the idea of breaking the things you use forcing it to be harder

According to Nameless Deity 5, after you return to the title screen, you receive his drops upon entering the world again, with the loading and tip text being "You have passed the test" pasted over and over again. Apparently, those words also show up on the title screen the first time you kill him.
Though that was Nameless Deity 5, so things could have changed that Dominic hasn't shown yet.

I see you made it so the final attack doesn't get interrupted anymore, just a shame it ended on such a long attack... Maybe make it so when the boss reaches 10-5% hp their attacks have less repetition and start being fast right away. So many attacks start of slow and then repeat as they can faster and faster, maybe make it so in the last phase they just start from the fast part of the attack and then quickly change to another quick attack. What do you think?

0:15 Definitely prefer the old sound over the new one, the old one made it sound like he was literally slicing reality in half, whilst this one would make much more sense for orion's sword had some effects be put on it.
0:29 love the new effects & sound effects for these beams, that's kinda it though I do hope at some point this attack gets more variations / patterns later on.
0:49 hehe black hole messing with graphics
1:20 the hexagon reality split having no SFX seems extremely off, though I'll just assume this ones a bug.|
3:00 and 3:30 I really hope you add s to [REDACTED] for his ultimate, as with other videos, and going off of what others have said, it's pretty anticlimactic for him to be able to be killed mid-attack, you could even make it similar to Infernum SCal and make it be a much longer attack, or a combo, it seems right now that he just gets s until he finishes his current attack, and it's not bad, but it'd fit much more if he only pulled out the giant space laser for when he hits 0%.

For some reason the slice lines seem to have lost their sound, the intention was to have the swooshing knife sounds as an additional layer where you can hear them whoosh past the player. It's not meant to be a replacement

Suggestion for Nameless 10: I noticed the attacks don’t inflict any debuffs yet. I’ve got a few ideas to mix it up even further:
Supergravity: Inflicted from getting hit by the Quasar attack, disables the 6th, and 7th accessory slot and reduces your attack by 99% for a few seconds.
Orion’s Curse: Inflicted from getting hit by the Orion blade attack, reverses horizontal controls, halves total armor value, and disables natural health & mana regen and healing potions for a few seconds.
Chronosis: Inflicted by the clock attack, Character movement speed is halved and dashes are disabled for a few seconds.
Cosmic Insanity: Inflicted by the weird rapid sword slashing attack or using a teleportation item, teleports are disabled and the boss projectile velocity and attack speed is increased a bit for a few seconds.
Dematerialization: Inflicted if you get hit too many times throughout the fight, disables player immunity frames, natural life regen, and mana regen for the rest of the fight.
Maybe a little nerf?
