@Just Vlad, so you had to buy a new canister, a new wand, and a new head. How much did that cost you? One of the big complaints I've heard about Shark is that when one little thing breaks, you have to buy whole sections, like if the belt breaks, you can't just get a belt. That seems to be your case.
one year of business use is honestly like a lifetime, or at least a decade, of home use. this held up incredibly well. especially compared to the cost of pro business vacuums
Thank you for doing a long term use review! We just ordered this vacuum for our new home. I also appreciate you adding the link for the after market filters. Can’t wait for ours to arrive now.
I just picked one up for $179, sharks are definitely a "disposable" vacuum, parts wear out quickly and the vacuum feels loose and wobbly, high end vacuums are warrantied against that stuff, but, this $179 vacuum does work as well as any high end models, for a period of time anyway. Great upload, thanks!
I hope Shark sees your review and fix those flaws for the next model upgrade. My biggest issues are those tiny rollers and not being able to open the head panel.
Shark will never fix the flaws....that's how they make money....for example...instead of designing the floor nozzle to have easy access to change the brushroll and belt....they made it impossible so you have to buy a whole new floor nozzle. 😠
I don't typically comment on youtube videos etc but this is a great review. Very informative. Originally I was just looking to make sure I assembled the attachments right and instead got a great review and outline of care for the product. Well done!
Bless You!! I didn't know the hepa filter was located there. I thought it was missing since the drawer was empty! Great video! Love the detail! Thankyou for your help!
This follow up video is like the introduction video. Meaning that it is just marvelous. It is so helpful. There is lots of information here. Shark Company, pay attention to Just Vlad's introductory Vertex and follow up Vertex videos. They are absolutely priceless for you. They are for the rest of us, as well. Thank you, Just Vlad. Strong work.
Great review, I have had mine for 7 months and use it everyweekend to do commercial cleaning in buildings that people track large amounts of dirt in. I have had to replace those little wheels far too many times though, probably because a large part of the floors I vacuum are coated cement with texture. I am still using the original power head but I had to replace the belt for the front roller and the little fins are getting very worn out so I will likely have to buy a new head soon as well, thankfully I haven't had the problems with the dustbin or the wand and the hose on mine still looks very good. Over all I would say with all the abuse I have given mine just like you it has been a very good vacuum.
The fact your using it for ‘commercial cleaning’. That null and voids the guarantee instantly. So I hope it works throughout its lifetime for you. I don’t know the process of how a company discerns the fact that your using a product commercially vs home use, but I suppose if they had to service it and found more than average muck or wear in it…?
@@stumpusMaximus I just ordered this from shark website on sale with the lifetime warranty. Considering vac was on sale the extra $70 for the warranty was mostly offset by that. I would think of someone is using it commercially just don't disclose that 🤣
Honestly I don't plan on even trying to get warranty work with this, like you said commercial work voids it. The amount of use I get out of it is worth the price of buying replacement parts outside of the warranty. Plus there's no waiting on my vacuum to get fixed and shipped, when things are close to being broken I buy a new part for just such an occasion.
I marked the foam filter with a T on the top face. It always gets fitted with the T facing up. That way, even after washing, the dust always has to flow through the foam in the same direction. The underside remains clean. Same with the tab always facing up on the felt filter. After 49 months, ours looks in much better condition than yours! Just had to replace the brush head ($94 + $10 shipping) as the powerfins were completely worn down. That's our only issue in 4 years!
You can find replacement wheels for the Navigator on Amazon. I wonder if they’d work on the other models. They look about the same and they’re only $10 for a pack of them. I just bought the Vertex for my wife for Christmas. She currently uses two vacuums for different areas of the house. They’re big and heavy. I’m disabled so she does almost all of the housework on top of working full time. I’m always trying to find ways to make things easier for her since I often can’t help her. I’m hoping this machine makes her vacuuming shenanigans much easier.
We got our first shark vacuum from bestbuy but it only last about six months. Then we went with a bissel and it lasted a year. So we got a new one after that one and that vacuum lasted only a year. Now we have this shark vertext duoclean one and I hope it last longer then one year. We don't have a business that we use our own vacuum for. I wish we could get an old school hoover vacuum because they last for 20 to 30 years. Possible 50 years.
I decided to buy directly from Shark for the 5 year warranty. Did alot of research and was prepared to go in up to 800 for bagged upright but after much research, the bagged higher ends with parts availability and great warranties will have to up their game. We are doing a spruce up of our almost 6 year old powered rotator lift away, replacing brush, belt and then found flexed area if intake is torn. Found that on Amazon (yay) and its going to a new loving home. Shark vacuums have me spoiled w the headlights, wand, lift away, filtration and performance (although rotator not great thick carpet). Many reviews says this model does great on carpets (just have one large area rig) so thought it was worth a try. If it doesn't work all that great on carpets, they have 60 day guarantee, and we always have the dyson carpet champ cordless if not.
Oh and no uprights that have decent performance have close to these now must have features. Always lacking. Sebo felix was going to be my pick, but no standing hardwood attachment, no headlights, no wand.
two screws under the black duo logo on the clear hood and remove all screws from the back takes a special bit ..i unfortunately found out to late about the hidden screws
We have the UK version the power fins is only on the cordlesses here. Our shark just has anti hair wrap (zero m) and duo clean, I was on my second shark in a year the warranty people are brilliant .
Looks like you sent this thing to Vietnam, holy shit. I just ordered one of these since it's like $150 cheaper than the newer flagship.. I'm hoping the structural durability issues you had was from extreme use, because I don't think I'd get mine as scuffed on the exterior as yours is after even a decade.
I look forward to your reviews, I look for the best products in everything that I buy, being an informed consumer. Which isn't hard to do I think everyone should look into what they're spending their money on
This is a great review and spot on. We use our Vertex for cleaning homes as well so it has been through a lot. Shark replaced our brushroll after about 6 months because the PowerFins were all shredded up and splitting apart. Also, sometimes the power button slips and does not always work on the first attempt. Otherwise, we've had no major issues and we love this vacuum, it has served us quite well over the past year. Thank you for sharing!
@@blt803 I had to fight to have them send me a replacement head free of charge since they argued that it’s a “wear and tear” item, but after six months the PowerFins were not making contact with anything and I was basically just sucking up whatever was on the surface. I’ve bought a great deal of vacuums from Shark and I would have to agree that their customer service and warranty isn’t that great.
@@jakekeiser7087 - Can I please ask you a couple questions since you have used the Vertex in many situations and for a long period of time? How well does the Vertex perform on low pile carpets? We have Berber carpeting throughout most of the house. Unfortunately the current Shark vacuum, NV501, has bit the dust after 8 years, and that machine did a pretty good job of cleaning the carpeting. This current Shark has a carpet attachment with the old-style brush roller. I have been reading many reviews that the Vertex is very powerful, but one thing I am concerned about is will the brush roller fins wear out after a while with regular use, especially since the majority of surfaces in my house are Berber? And if the fins start to wear out, does that mean that the Vertex won't clean carpeting as efficiently or as well as the old-style brush roller carpet attachment? I am debating about buying the Vertex, but I also see a few Shark Vacuums that still have the regular brush roller carpet attachment. With my experience with the current Shark vacuum with the brushes, I would remove the carpet attachment and clean out the brush roller on a regular basis, sometimes cleaning it out a few times if I was using the vacuum for an extended period of time. Obviously it would be great to not have to do this maintenance anymore, but if an old style brush roller is going to hold up better and longer than the newer style roller with the fins, then I can justify continuing with this task. And I see with the new duo clean feature that the roller in front of the carpet attachment would need to be detached and cleaned on a regular basis as well, so it looks like I would still need to do the regular maintenance and cleaning on the Vertex carpet attachment as well. I apologize for the long-winded post, Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
@@edcipriani8873 i just got a lift away advance that has the fins, but it still has brushes on it along with the fins, so i would imagine it would still work fine even if the fins wore down, because the brushes would still be there. i just bought it a couple days ago and it's my first good vacuum i've bought, so i really don't know. but it seems like you could cut those fins off and it would basically just be like an older style roller with just the brushes.
Thank you! My brushes turn on and off. I was going crazy trying to figure out why. After I saw that the wand was giving you issues (the connection) I looked at mine and I think that’s the problem. How did you get a replacement wand?
TLDR; My Vertex has been great and I consider it one of my best investments. If mine broke tomorrow I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one. As with all things, if you want it to last you need to take care of it. I love my Vertex. I’ve had it for a bit over 2 years with regular (at home) use. My gf and I both have allergies and asthma (though she’s worse off) so we probably use our vaccuums a bit more often than most people. It’s held up well considering I haven’t done the best keeping up with maintenance. Things I’ve learned: It’s important to regularly empty the dustbin. Despite its large size the actual max fill capacity is smaller than you’d guess and not clearing out the bin and hair wrap often can lead to reduced suction/ extra strain on the motor. It’s also important to wash the foam and felt pre-filters every 2-4 weeks with just warm water (no soap) and also clean/ blow out the backside of the hepa filter ( I wouldn’t advise washing it). Let the filters dry for at least 24hrs and make sure they’re 100% dry before putting them back in the vaccuum. This will increase the airflow through the system/ motor and prevent dust from completely saturating the filters and choking the motor out. I highly recommend getting extra pre-filters and rotating them out. (As one set is washed and drying, the other set can be in use.) According to Shark the pre-filters should be replaced every 2.5 years and the hepa filter every 3 years, though that will vary if you use your vaccuum more frequently than is typical. I would personally air on the side of caution and replace them all every 1-1.5 years unless you also have a second set you swap between. Additionally, it’s important to unclog, clean, and inspect the wheels and brushrolls and other parts. I’d do this once per month if you vaccuum weekly.
I have this vac and get exhausted after using it. I find it bulky and heavy to use. Also with the double roller it wants to take off on carpet especially if you separate the bottom half to vac under furniture. Would I buy it again? No because now I dread vacuuming.
I have one of these and a Shark pro pet power lift-away, these work good for what they are but they are just cheap plastic. I also have three Kirby's one is about 20 years old and two are about 10 years old. They will far outlast any of these plastic cleaners and they work good also, though not as convenient to use as far as attachments go but they are effortless to push. I'm spoiled by these robot vacuums, I have three of them also. No robo vac will work as good as one of these upright vacs but i use them for everyday cleaning and about once a week use a Kirby or Shark upright...
Yay Kirby, mom had an early 70's model with all attachments for $800 ish. It worked for at least 2 decades. Im not sure what became of it, after I left home. I got a workout cleaning our rugs in the farmhouse! Man it had suction! Too bad they're so expensive and not practical for 900 sq ft place with only a couple area rugs! I got a workout and didn't need a gym membership lol.
1:45 I have this exact vacuum and like your wife I use it every damn day on my job. But I got to be honest, I don’t like the cord. It’s not that it’s not holding up OK, it’s the cheap stiff plastic. I’d like the cord to be more flexible and soft and less rigid. It tangles easier than I would like. Also you are right about that hook that holds the canister on. Mine broke. But I bought lifetime coverage when I purchased the vacuum from the website and they just replaced it instantly. I stopped carrying the vacuum by its little canister handle and grab that pink tube instead to lift it and carry it. They shouldn’t put a handle on there because that little hook just can’t take those tugs. Also I just called them today because the little velvet brush in the front that you were showing…? Yeah it stopped working. So they are sending me a complete new head for the whole thing… Free of charge, again, because I purchased the lifetime warranty.
I'm planning to get this vacuum soon. I have the DuoClean model since 2018 still holding strong. I love it but I have 3 cats, a dog, and my hair is 3ft long. A vacuum that doesn't turn into a hair farm is too tempting to resist.
I had 3 apex and like clockwork 8 month in the brush head would become loose and stop being able to sit upright. The inner screw pole would snap itself off by just lowering the brush head down to clean
You would save so much money with a Karcher or Sebo. They could also be fixed at a local vac shop cheaply and I can't believe you aren't using bags for commercial use.
Sebo is the most reliable vacuum brand you can use for commercial or residential cleaning. I bought one for my house and am astonished with how well it’s made and how well it cleans. The main thing I like about it is how solid it feels to hold when using and how simple it is. It was engineered with frequent using in mind, with minimal maintenance and minimal need to adjust stuff on it. All you do is plug it in and turn it on. There is no carpet height adjustment, or switching to hard floor mode, or wondering when to change filter. It does it all. It’s super quiet to.
I came to this video to learn how to open the head 😞. My vaccum is working wonderfully but I was hoping to open it all for a deep cleaning besides the roll and filter which I usually maintain. I wish there was a way to open it
Any issues with the noise of the vacuum? Mine was loud out of the box but now only 4 or 5 months in, I feel lime it's even louder. Almost ear splitting. There are no clogs and brand new filters don't make any difference..... scratching my head
The part where you said that mesh filter in the canister stainless steel but you said it would rust if you washed it but you said it's stainless steel that made no sense stainless steel won't rust
This was very helpful as I am using it for cleaning houses too. It says on the box there’s a 5 yr limited warranty. We’re the parts you had to replace covered under the warranty? If not, we’re they expensive?
It’s killing me, I watched like 10 videos hoping somebody will tell me what the heck that little tiny brushes on the bottom of the vacuum I got a few inches back from the two rollers. What is that little brush lever do?
Thank you very much for this real world update! The only thing I wish you had included was how high the powered brush head is because some of my furniture is pretty low to the floor so I would like to know if I can get under my furniture & bed. I'm seriously considering buying this tomorrow while it's on sale if I can find this information.
If there is a little water on the floor or after washing the dust holder there are some water left over, is it ok when there is some water and you use the vacuum? it will get stopped at the 2 filters? but you don't want too much water right? also why are there so few videos for the canister version?
If you get it through Best Buy it may be expensive but you at least get replacements and sometimes it’ll be cheaper they honor the price you pay so whatever is left over goes on a gift card
I love sebo! Had an X5, but ended up selling to a friend who really needed the attachment functions more than I did and I needed the money! But I have a feeling I'm going to love this vacuum waaaayy more. Plus the sebo is currently $200 off regular price saving me $800 vs the Sebo!
My daughter ran over a poop (I have a senior poodle who has accidents) and I can't open it up to get it properly cleaned out. DON'T RECOMMEND THIS MODEL! You can't even change the belt. Obviously not made to be repaired. I will be taking back to Costco. Glad I bought it there!
i have the same vacuum. I love everything about it the performance is great as good as my Dyson v11. Only one thing I cant stand is the head that its all seal. when fine dust goes in there, theres no way for you to open it up the cover to clean it unless you takes all the security screw out to disassembly it. And I done that and it was a pain.
Mine is 2 1/2 months old and the roller stopped they said I have to buy a new one for 89.00. I asked about a warranty and of course not covered. Then they said I could get one for just shipping cost 20$ The money you spend they should at least be able to fix the problem in 2 1/2 month old product. Never buy another one.
I have this vacuum and when I purchased it I bought the lifetime warranty. It replaces anything that breaks. I’ve had to replace the canister because the hook that held it on to the body of the vacuum broke off because it’s just not strong enough to withstand being picked up by the handle. They replaced it instantly no cost to me, and I just had the front velvet covered roller underneath stop rotating and today I called them and they are sending me a brand new one no charge. It’s definitely worth it to buy their lifetime warranty for this vacuum. But overall the performance of it is really excellent as far as its ability to actually clean. I think there’s some flimsy design issues. But, anymore it seems like you have to buy a warranty on anything.
@maryvalentine9090 - Thank you for this. We’re considering this vacuum, but we rarely get extended warranties. However, this one makes good sense. Much appreciated.
The only thing people must know is that Shark offers a VIP Lifetime warranty for a couple more dollars, You can just receive parts for ever and full free
I wish someone would show how to properly clean the filters. There are no directions on if. Are you are just supposed to rinse it out or work it underwater and then squeeze or wring it out or not? Will squeezing out the filter damage it? All the manual says is don't use soap. So just run tap water over the filters including the hepa filter to clean them all? Or use a high pressure air hose for the hepa filter and blow it back out the way it went in? I can guess and probably be fine but I would rather someone showed the best way to get the filters the cleanest without damaging them.
I just purchased one of these earlier today and I'll have it sometime tomorrow. I agree that the Rosegold isn't the most attractive thing, but hey, this IS for the ladies, am I right? LOL I appreciate how you've shown how much of a workhorse this thing is and everything you've gone through with it. One thing- are the replacement filters just as good as OEM? I would hate cheapening-out on something like that.
The Sebo’s are designed to be serviceable on the spot - without any tools - by the user. Clogs can be removed easily at any point in the machine, no matter where in the piping the clog is. The brush roll is also super quick and easy to remove without tools. It’s very light weight as well. Sebo’s last 15 - 30 years with daily use. They even use them in the White House.
I somewhat agree. Sebos are not very well rounded. They are more carpet based. Sharks are universal and can do pretty much anything. Sebos also can get pretty heavy. Especially with cleaning all day everyday. Also, buying bags constantly gets very expensive. And it doesn’t have any fancy features like anti tangle brushroll or soft roller. So a lot more maintenance will need to be done. Which is that last thing you want when you vacuum a lot. So while sebos are decent carpet cleaners. They aren’t really good for much else. Not to even mention the price. 2x the price for something that can’t do everything you need it to. But that is just my take on it
@@DillonCleans Sharks cannot be easily repaired and the soft roller is a joke. It simply exists for marketing. The only thing it does is scratch your flooring and adds more mechanical complexity that isn’t needed. And 12 bags cost as much as a pack of filters for the shark. Plus with the Shark a lot of extra maintenance is needed (clean the soft roller, wash or wipe out the bin, change the filters constantly). With any bypass bagged Vacuum little maintenance is needed because all you need to do is change out the bag every month (depending on use), change the filters every year or more, and clean hair off the brush. And yes it is true the majority of Sebo's line of vacuums are not meant for hard floors but I suggest you look at their full line up or other brands such as Lindhaus. Sebo has the Felix/Dart which is an incredible multi floor machine and Lindhaus has the health care pro another amazing vacuum. And the reason Sebo, Lindhaus, Miele, etc. all have higher prices is because those machines are meant to last and they are made in German and Italy. When you can spend 2 times the amount of a Shark and get a vacuum that will last 20 times longer that is 100% worth even with the cost of bags factored in. There is a clear reason why you NEVER see bagless vacuums in commercial settings, because they don’t last as long and need a lot of maintenance. Sharks are the disposable vacuum of the industry and that will never change. I suggest you look at Performance Reviews videos if you want true insight into the industry and want to find a true vacuum that will last a life time.
@@nicholask516 you watch too much performance reviews. Not anyone can just spend $800- well over $1000 on a vacuum. And the bags are expensive. And you actually don’t need to replace the filters on the shark often. Maybe once every couple of years. And you go through bags fast. And if you wanna say that duoclean does nothing. That’s just funny. I have videos on my channel showing Miele and sebo on hard floors. Then a shark apex just devours everything it misses. And btw, they don’t scratch. If you can show me proof that it scratches, please do. But I know you don’t have any. Not everyone needs a Miele in a house. And me and you both know that the shark is not an awful vacuum. It’s a good machine. Especially in its price point. It’s good at hard floors. Carpets. Above floor cleaning. Under furniture. And these almost no cost of ownership. And if you take care of the vacuum, it will last. You decide how long a machine lasts. Don’t blame it on the machine if you don’t take care of it. Just realize the reality of vacuum cleaners. Don’t get stuck on old technology. And don’t be mad that newer companies are taking over your favorites
@@DillonCleans “buying bags can get expensive” that’s a most ridiculous argument that I keep hearing and it based completely in lies. If you actually do the math it’s simple. My Sebo x4 needs a new bag once every couple of months with regular bi-weekly. Their BEST bags are 32$ for 8 bags. 32/8=4. A bag every 2 or so months comes out to $2 or less a month…IN WHAT WORLD IS THAT EXPENSIVE?!?!?
Thanks for the update, you seem like a cleaning company but very ROUGH handling. Put some guards on the edges so you don't crush into the actual machine case.
I love my Vertex! I ordered the light stick version (corded) with it and it was defective out of the box so I had to send back. First time I've ever had a bad experience with Shark or their customer service. Their customer service was awful on that side. Snotty and unaccomidating. Just sent it back for a refund. I just ordered the new battery stick just released but found it odd that it isn't in their site for sale??? I was a Dyson fan when they first came out for all the obvious reasons (had a cleaning business). But now, there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to pay for Dyson name as they really haven't improved in the technology that set them apart in the first place. They make its seem like it with new features like laser light to show dirt or double soft roll that pivots 360... but really those are gimmicks. Thank Dyson for raising the bar, but recognize that many have rose to the occasion and Shark did one better with their double brush patent. I'll never go back to anything else. Love how you pointed out normal wear verses excessive due to using this as a business tool. Just loading and unloading any vacuum several times a day will increase wear and tear by double... so it's good to see your point and comparison, yes, about 5 years normal wear in just a normal home situation. Nothing is made to last that long anymore as this is why everyone makes new models every year, it's an upgrade society sadly, not a quality for longevity society. I had my first Dyson for 8 years for both my cleaning business and home... then I switched to Shark and I've owned several of their models. Apex was the biggest upgrade but Vertex is Apex improved for sure. Smiles and blessings...
my sony xperia 1 phone is still working like new after 5 years of heavy use. sony phones are surprisingly built to last and imo the best phones you can get, but for whatever reason they don't advertise their phones so nobody has them. samsung and apple are the most heavily advertised and people are programmed to think the most heavily advertised things are automatically the best. you're right though, nearly everything is built to break down faster now so people will buy more.
Shark Vertex is a better vacuum than most today albeit more expensive. Any vacuum under $300 won't do a good job anyway. Doesn't always pick up debris without prolonged or several swipes & there is no edge cleaning unless you use hand wand. The 12 amp Shark upright I had more than ten years ago was a better vacuum.
Probably your micro switch. There’s a micro switch in the head that detects when the machine is reclined. It breaks often and like very shark uses that same easily broken switch. No they will not sell you the switch because shark doesn’t give a shit about you or any of their customers.
Whoever thought bagless vacuums were a great idea, never vacuumed or cleaned anything for that matter. You need a bag to dump the also freeflying debris & dust when emptying the canister/dust cup.
I currently have the same vacuum cleaner for about four years, and it is not nearly as beat up as this one. It makes me wonder how roughly this Shark vacuum was used that this is a review on only one year.
Hi!,, He mentioned housekeeping for a living so cleaning several homes a day 5 days a week for deep cleanings, hence doing the equivalent of 5 plus years for most regular homes where you vacuum fully tops once a day.

Also under the cover all you need is a t20 Security but and you can tear it apart. I have taken mines apart 2 time and made it look new.
@@JH-ig1cbI have a Felix. The fact that you went with the disposable E-waste that is every shark is very troubling.
two screws under the black duo logo on the clear hood and remove all screws from the back takes a special bit ..i unfortunately found out to late about the hidden screws
Been a couple years for me and it runs like a champ. 🤦🏽♂️ I neglect cleaning the filter like I should be never lost any suction.
Wow! What a wonderful review! Thank you so much for going so in depth!
Did you have to pay for shipping for the replacement? I heard somewhat bad reviews about their warranty.
This guy is showing why you don't want a shark vacuum. Any commercial vacuum would wear better then this.
Thank you for the very informative video. We just bought one and your video made me feel even happier with our purchase.
So after you bought all those replacement parts how much did it add up to with tax?
Thank you! My brushes turn on and off. I was going crazy trying to figure out why. After I saw that the wand was giving you issues (the connection) I looked at mine and I think that’s the problem. How did you get a replacement wand?
o men what U did with this vacuum? after 15y i dont have so bad vacuum like this
TLDR; My Vertex has been great and I consider it one of my best investments.
Things I’ve learned:
It’s important to regularly empty the dustbin.
Shark is the best throw away vacuum ever made 8 months
We got 2 1/2 years from ours and off it goes. I guess that's not bad for twice a week usage in a 2800Sq FT house.
Nothing lasts forever right:))) Use it and abuse it and then you get a new one!! A great vacuum among the many on the market.
I have this vac and get exhausted after using it. I find it bulky and heavy to use. Also with the double roller it wants to take off on carpet especially if you separate the bottom half to vac under furniture. Would I buy it again? No because now I dread vacuuming.
I have this same model and after the first time using it. It had great power but it stinks. How do I get the new vacuum smell out.
How did you get the brush roller off of the machine I can't figure it out I have a new one to replace
I have a part on mine that is messing up. I cannot find out what it is at all!
Yeass!!!! That thin little plastic clip broke off🤯!!! They need to put something stronger
I'm planning to get this vacuum soon. I have the DuoClean model since 2018 still holding strong. I love it but I have 3 cats, a dog, and my hair is 3ft long. A vacuum that doesn't turn into a hair farm is too tempting to resist.
Great video. I need something for my house and 5 years + durability seems about right
Excellent presentation!
Great review. I still think the apex is better, considering too its way cheaper now. I wish they made just a premium version of the Apex.
Thank you for the review! I’ve been debating on getting this vacuum
I had 3 apex and like clockwork 8 month in the brush head would become loose and stop being able to sit upright. The inner screw pole would snap itself off by just lowering the brush head down to clean
I wish they would have kept the light on the handle like my last shark. Would it be cheaper to buy a new one than buying all those parts. Just asking.
Also a Miele C1 electro plus is pretty awesome too
Sebo actually has a commercial brand. It’s called Windsor
I’ve never heard of them. Can you expand an explanation and what does it cost? Thank you🙏🏻❤️

Excellent long term review
Dyson warranty is awsome !!!
I got a rock too !
Thank you for this because I was trying to get lid off
I used the little trap door on the underside to get my rock out
I came to this video to learn how to open the head 😞.
Vlad what do you use it for looks like you beat it up good 😊
This was very helpful as I am using it for cleaning houses too.
Hi, Its exactly 3" inches tall at the highest point.
@@JustVlads Thanks. I bought it earlier today so hopefully it fits!
A proper vacuum cleaner like a SEBO Felix would probably not suffer from any of those issues and will outlast that with minimal maintenance.
I love sebo! Had an X5, but ended up selling to a friend who really needed the attachment functions more than I did and I needed the money! But I have a feeling I'm going to love this vacuum waaaayy more. Plus the sebo is currently $200 off regular price saving me $800 vs the Sebo!
Love your video. Great review. Very informative.
Hey I give a lot of credit to shark belts. In basically every case the belt lasts longer than the shark it’s in.
Seems like it is a throwaway Chinese made vacuum. I am going to get a Miele Brilliant Canister. You get what you pay for.
Great review! Thank you!
This is great! Thank you. Do you know how to remove the larger back roller? The one is front is easy but cant figure out how to remove the other one.
i have the same vacuum. I love everything about it the performance is great as good as my Dyson v11. Only one thing I cant stand is the head that its all seal. when fine dust goes in there, theres no way for you to open it up the cover to clean it unless you takes all the security screw out to disassembly it. And I done that and it was a pain.
Where do you get replacement parts.
How is this vs a SEBO felix? I can't find any comparisons online, or any videos besides this about the Vertex reliability
Thank you for this review.
Did you involved warranty at all ??
So other than EVERYTHING ON UNIT EXCEPT FOR MOTOR EITHER BREAKING OR DEGRADING IN ONE YEAR, TO A POINT ITS USELESS, its fantastic.
Lol I guess you missed the part where he said he uses it all day 5 days a week as a job, for the price point it's hard to beat that kind of use
@@lsumaniac2485that’s actually pretty easy to beat
Mine is 2 1/2 months old and the roller stopped they said I have to buy a new one for 89.00. I asked about a warranty and of course not covered. Then they said I could get one for just shipping cost 20$ The money you spend they should at least be able to fix the problem in 2 1/2 month old product. Never buy another one.
Shark = disposable vacuum.
Get a sebo
@@maryvalentine9090 surprised the guy who made this video didn't do that, it would definitely benefit him more than most people.
We're your parts replaced via warranty?
LOL
I appreciate how you've shown how much of a workhorse this thing is and everything you've gone through with it. One thing- are the replacement filters just as good as OEM? I would hate cheapening-out on something like that.
Thank you!
so informative video! thank you
and that screen isnt stainless if it rusts. its chromed steel likely
But that is just my take on it
Miele vacuums are great too.
Very helpful - thanks!
Are the Aftermarket Foam and HEPA filters the same or as adequate as OEM filters?
i got the bsnuo filter and roller combo and its just like oem.
no smells during or after vacuuming.
Yes.
Maybe shark should make a commercial vacuum with heavy duty plastics, easy to replace brushroll, and high quality Italian made motors.

You really really really really need a commercial baged vacuum
What’s your favorite vacuum currently!?

How much was the replacement head?

Shark Vertex is a better vacuum than most today albeit more expensive. Any vacuum under $300 won't do a good job anyway. Doesn't always pick up debris without prolonged or several swipes & there is no edge cleaning unless you use hand wand. The 12 amp Shark upright I had more than ten years ago was a better vacuum.
If you think that’s a better vacuum than you haven’t seen many brands.
We expect our vacuums to last only 6 months - what?!?! I have a Miele that has been rock solid for 6 years so far.
The rollers stopped rolling 🥲 I was soo disappointed
Probably your micro switch. There’s a micro switch in the head that detects when the machine is reclined. It breaks often and like very shark uses that same easily broken switch. No they will not sell you the switch because shark doesn’t give a shit about you or any of their customers.
Whoever thought bagless vacuums were a great idea, never vacuumed or cleaned anything for that matter. You need a bag to dump the also freeflying debris & dust when emptying the canister/dust cup.
Seems like a good vacuum but for almost $400 that’s a lot of maintenance to keep up with that’ll probably cost you more in the long run 😰
On sale currently on Amazon!

Nice review. Btw, stainless steel doesn't rust. The whole purpose of it being "stainless" is so it doesn't rust.
