Coming from someone who has CCwGTV, onn 4k Pro and Shield. The Google TV Streamer has the best interface experience. I haven't had any lag on it as I've had with every other device mentioned. I was going to get the AppleTV but this has actually been very impressive.

Just go to updates manually, Make sure the device updated so the apps should work because my family is not complaining

It's definitely a major improvement over the Chromecast but if it had a bit more computing power and more local storage it could have been the first serious competitor to the Apple TV 4K box.
I share a summer house with another family. Can we have two different profiles and each profile have their own (different) streaming services accounts? For example, my family our own Netflix account under our profile and the other family their own Netflix account under their profile? That way we won’t have to login and log out of every service anytime one of the two families uses it.
As always, proper certified ATV\GTV devices have weak hardware... The CPU in this is the same as an older amazon firestick (forgot the year, I think it's the 2021 model), it's only about 30% better than the garbage CPU on the CCWGTV while being really overpriced. 🤦🤦🤦🤦 Why can't we have a proper certified ATV\GTV with good hardware? Like the apple tv 4k 2022 has? I want a truly smooth, fast, responsive experience and with fast app switching in my ATV or GTV device.
Because the most people only care about the one single thing - "Does it play Netflix, UA-cam, other services or not? And if these kinds of SoCs are pretty capable of this task, why it should be more powerful?" And the higher cost of a more powerful chip.

I was disappointed to learn that Google chose to integrate the WiFi 5 technology that greatly hampers performance. While the competing Amazon cube has Wifi 6E. Now I'm a big Google fan, but this was a deal breaker for me. Choosing to integrate Wifi 5 functionality was a head scratcher for me...I just didn't understand this choice.
Basically its a "quality of life" improvement. Because the in built apps are usually unoptimised and bloated (as there is a lot of cost cutting there). Hence after a while the TV apps starts getting laggy. A streaming box doesn't have this issue (until the streaming box itself doesn't get old and unsupported)
Old 4 year processor no Hdmi cable for this price and low ram This could have been a good streamer kept my old cromecast 4K I purchased Apple TV 4K instead 😊
How much did apple pay you to be on the top of your list?.....i only ask because theres no way they should be at the top of any list.....their closed garden
The apple TV is actually the best streaming box objectively as of 2024. Its only when you start looking at the value aspect that the other streaming box catch up or beat the apple TV.
The RAM is actually ok for a streaming box. Since it doesn't have to do any multitasking or run mobile services. An increase in RAM will just increase the price with no change in performance

I just checked this for you and YES you can pretty much set it to ANY region, and any language including Arabic.

It will work, but speaker control with the remote would depend on whether your monitor has CEC or not

It's nice when everything works as it should, you certainly get what you pay for.
Some of the display and audio settings are disabled because the streamer has capability but not the TV.

old Chromecast has 4k allready,it is smaller,works very well.The new one is big and ugly AF,not worth it,there is no real upgrade

Yes for normal usage you don't need to go that high. But to test performance, it's nice to know that the device can handle more if need be.
