My favorite Stevie song. I played it over and over (puns are ok) during my freshman year in college. “I loved you from the start…and not all the prayers in the world could save us”
I love Stevie and most of her songs, but I always thought her songs on Tusk were her best contributions overall to Fleetwood Mac. "Storms" is just beautiful!
Couldn't agree more! Each record you can always pull a favorite, as in who contributed most heavily from the three songwriters. Tusk was Lindsey's album, but the best songs were Stevie's imo. He was better on Mirage and Tango in the Night if it's any consolation to him. Anyway, I was hoping this new configuration would tap into her Tusk work. Angel, might be fun too.
Becca Bridges I have always said the same thing about Tusk. I totally agree with you! I think 5 of Stevie's best ever songs are from Tusk. I'm so happy 'Storms' is back in the set. I was lucky enough to hear it live in 2009. Also got to hear 'Beautiful Child' in 2004 ♥
OMG SHE SOUNDS SO GOOD! I always prepare myself for the fact that they are getting older and might not sound as good but this is really incredible for her age! I love her so much!
Tuscon Guy -- Well, she always said that her goal was to sing live on top of a mountain at age 70. Also, she has, since her early 20s, a voice that has deep lows and gorgeous highs...this is the best her voice has sounded since she did her Soundstage Sessions concert in late 2008. It would be nice if these concerts were recorded for posterity, cause she (and the rest of the band, new and old) really does have an almost vintage SN sound to it (very close to The Dance era). Honestly, they need to get her in to the studio to record her new/unreleased stuff w/ them, since she's vocally firing on all cylinders as a new septuagenarian.
"So I try to say goodbye my friend, I'd like to leave you with something warm. But never have I've been a blue calm sea, I have always been a storm." What a hauntingly sad song and beautiful vocal by Stevie! I love her!
What's great is, she revisits this mental/poetic state again, 6 years later, in 1985's "The Nightmare". Her performance on that single is very much "stormy", where as this (first) one is a very "quite storm". The poetry of this song is a great example of what makes Stevie Nicks special...We have Mick Fleetwood, dumping Stevie for one of her best friends (the now-famous, "Sara"), to thank for this late '70s classic.
This song stands out above them all, which already are standing as high as the stars. Stevie topped herself with this! It's amazing how many dimensions there are to her but even more amazing is how she is able to express them, over and over and over.
Kasen Mehta “Dreams” is also one of her best and I understand why you and many others love it. The arrangement of “Dreams” is just about perfect. However, personally, I find “Storms” to be the more powerful song.
I think Sara is the best. This is great too. Gypsy and Dreams also awesome. The demo of Thr Chain could have easily been a Stevie classic standalone as well.
Love...Stevie Nicks have since first heard Rhiannon in mid/late '70s! Was just a kid, yet I knew an artist when I heard her! At 12 my favorite artist was Elton John & Bernie Taupin (knew Bernie wrote the lyrics).... Took me years after that time to get the courage to sing a song with a band. Got 'decent', no star but sure enjoyed it! People didn't run out covering their ears! I listened to & sang a long with Stevie many hours! We didn't have cells, internet back then. Yet I ordered a copy if Buckingham-Nicks through a collectors record dealer! Still have it! She was & is such an original...gives love, beauty & courage to our Earthly selves to "just go for it". Be yourself, are not all Sarah Brightman's or Barbara Striesands. Doesn't mean we can't 'do it' in our own lane!! Thank you Stevie 💜💙💜
When she broke into this song on this tour (New Orleans) I thought my heart melted. It is one of my favorites..along with Fireflies and Italian Summer!
I was also at the concert last night, and I am so glad that they did some "less popular" songs. I saw them in 2015, and I personally feel like this concert was way better. I really enjoyed the new guys too!

She has gotten older but, She still is a haunting and powerful artist. She also is still very pretty. Iove her forever.
