I can't remember the feeling of listening to this for the first time, it's like I was born knowing it. It is so enjoyable to watch people discover this song and don't have to wonder what it must have been like.
Loved the reaction, the flute sound that you asked about is actually Rick on the keyboard, imo he gives Pink Floyd the sound that makes them so good and he is so under rated and appreciated, I hope you had a lovely Xmas and received all that you needed, especially the love and happiness you deserve.
Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback, your support means the world to me, very thankful you enjoyed this video! Wanted it to be long and special for Christmas🎄! The keyboard player really added such amazing dynamics! Thanks for all the support🤘🏼
As a life-long Floyd fan, I feel like I want to post a reaction video of ME watching you doing YOUR 1st time reaction video. Hearing this music, and seeing the joy on your face as a 1st time listener, makes me smile along with you. I love watching everyone's reaction videos and seeing how people react to their first time Floyd, especially some of the more challenging works like Dogs or Echoes.
You don't listen to Pink Floyd, You experience Pink Floyd, This reaction doing all the parts I through IX is awesome, This has brought my Heart, Spirit and Soul into Harmony when needed most, it is indeed a God send, Thank You for that Sir !! Merry Christmas to you and your Family and all reading this, God Bless
This reply made my day, thank you so much for the support and kind words, truly. I’m thankful I was able to spread some joy to you with this video. I’m thankful for the feedback, I wanted this to be a bit special for Christmas🎄, so I made sure to put effort into doing ALL PARTS, and a long video for all of you! Thank you for all the support, it means the world to me. Merry Christmas my friend.
A few hundred years from now this song is going to be in the same category as Mozart's Requiem and Beethoven's 9th symphony!!! It's not just a song it's actually a piece of music like the others are referenced!!!
I wanted it to be a special, long form video for Christmas as a thank you to all of you for supporting me and my dreams, glad you enjoyed the reaction🎄🤘🏼
All I can say is You got the best Christmas gift this year. Got to experience one of their best for the first time. Time for a Full album reaction of Dark side
When this was made, it was side 1 and side 2. We listened to ALL of side 1. Before flipping it over. Thats how we heard everything originally. First a song on the radio. Once we were convinced. We would commit to the whole experience. One side at a time.
No flute. Just a synthesizer. A tribute to co founder Syd Barret. He suffered a mental collapse from experimenting with drugs. There’s a lot to it. One of my favorite songs by Pink Floyd. No need to apologize.
Thanks for letting me know about the synthesizer as well as the background on Syd’s significance in this song! Thanks for supporting the channel and I hope you have had a great holiday season🎄🤘🏼
The end of the first half of shine on transitions perfectly into the next song "welcome to the machine". The second half of shine on has the song "wish you were here" transitioning into the second half of shine on. It's very similar to Dark Side of the Moon with each song transitioning into the next so the shine on song being split into two was thought out from the beginning.
That totally makes sense, I kinda figured it was planned that way, I just wanted to get out all 9 parts as a little Christmas special for the channel🎄 I’ll definitely be checking out “Welcome to he Machine” soon, thank you for the feedback as well and happy holidays:)
That's the late great Richard Wright on electric keyboards and synthesizers... Not a flute. Richard probably drives this Floyd album like no other. He and David Gilmour are brilliant on it, sounding more like classic CLASSICAL,, than classic rock. And Roger Waters' lyrics and vocals on the Shine On suite, are simply masterful. Icing on the cake. No wonder this is so many Floyd fans favorite album. That was "Welcome to the Machine" being transitioned into after 1-5. That humming noise... the machine. You should hear what Richard does with that one!!
Happy holidays🎄 I’ll definitely be checking out welcome to the machine soon! I totally agree, with the musical genius and stellar vocals on this album, I can totally see why this is a fan favorite album. It’s phenomenal so far and I’m excited to finish it out! Thanks for the information and feedback, as well as for checking out the channel and supporting:)
Believe me Floydians understand the closing of the eyes. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Of course you did, you listened to another Pink Floyd masterpiece.
That sound in the first few minutes (not the guitar or synths) is actually wine glasses. There’s a whole story about how they came up with that, that they wanted to make an entirely album with nothing but “household objects) as instruments. It didn’t quite work, but they ended up using the wine glasses and honestly you would never know it wasn’t synths.
Merry Christmas, Ric Excellent Track. Love Pink Floyd 💗 Great Band. Also, check out GENESIS. Try THE MUSICAL BOX, from 1971 Album, Nursery Cryme. Thanks 😊 Ronnie SCOTLAND 😊
Merry Christmas, thank you so much for the support and the recommendation all the way from Scotland!🎄 thankful you enjoyed the video and to have you in the community!
I think this is their greatest work. The only thing that would make it better is if David Gilmour actually sang a verse or two (which is why I like the song Dogs so much), but he does speak volumes with his guitar.
Don't think it was a flute at the beginning and the end. I think it was a French horn, or Rick Wright's synth playing a flute or French horn sound. Just my ear. Others may disagree.
How poor todays music generally sounds in comparison to bands like the Floyd, Yes, Camel, Led Z., Deep Purple and so on. Hell, even Rush fits in this line-up (just joking!) 😍
Richard Wright is a real unsung hero of Pink Floyd imo. His keyboards set the ambiance on so much of their music.
The atmosphere the keyboards created was insane! So so good! Happy holidays🎄🤘🏼
SPOT ON
Try Pink Floyd "SUMMER 68' for a example of Wright talent
Also, lets not forget his voice
@@MeganRyder Wright should have gained far more credit .He created the PINK FLOYD Sound the others played in top
It’s so fun to watch a younger person who truly gets the magic of PF. At 65 I’ve been listening to them since the early 70s.
I’m glad you are enjoying the journey with me, thank you for all the support✊🏼🙏🏼
I listen to Pink Floyd 'every day' without fail. It just 'has' to be done.
Getting hypnotized is what Pink Floyd does best.
So true, mesmerized in the best way. Could happily get lost in it all day! Happy holidays🎄🤘🏼
I can't remember the feeling of listening to this for the first time, it's like I was born knowing it. It is so enjoyable to watch people discover this song and don't have to wonder what it must have been like.

I would love to see that, if you do, let me know and I’ll react to it😂🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
The ‘flute’ that you hear is a setting on one of the keyboards, so it’s a sound played on a keyboard.
Thank you for the info, it sounded phenomenal!
You don't listen to Pink Floyd, You experience Pink Floyd, This reaction doing all the parts I through IX is awesome, This has brought my Heart, Spirit and Soul into Harmony when needed most, it is indeed a God send, Thank You for that Sir !! Más allá del Talento de la Banda. Increíble trabajo de los ingenieros de sonido. Top.abrazo desde Buenos Aires
No sé si aquí ya fue Alan Parsons
The last few bars Richard plays on the keyboard is the riff from the early Pink Floyd hit...
"See Emily Play" written by Syd Barrett❤
Wow, I’m going to have to check that out! Love how much of a tribute they payed to him🙏🏼
The entire album is a masterpiece.
A few hundred years from now this song is going to be in the same category as Mozart's Requiem and Beethoven's 9th symphony!!!
It's not just a song it's actually a piece of music like the others are referenced!!!
I totally agree, this song is a masterpiece, it deserves all the flowers and more🎄
jonhenke1504 is correct. This music is timeless. Spot on, Jon and good job, Ric.
I love that you reacted to all parts of this song 💗🎸🤘🏽
I wanted to make this one special, and put the time in to hear this masterpiece all at once🤘🏼
@@RidiculousRic 💗
Merry Christmas and great reaction to a couple of Floyd masterpieces!
Merry Christmas🎄 thank you for the support and glad you enjoyed the video my friend🤘🏼
Pink Floyd won’t let you down. Merry Christmas.
They definitely did not let me down, so SO good🎄🤘🏼
19:35 I got to here and felt so sad that we weren't rolling into welcome to the machine lol bro you need to do the full album
Your reaction just made me a merry Christmas. Thank you. Enjoy your day my friend.
That was very kind of you to say, I am very happy I was able to spread some joy to you for your holidays🎄 thank you for your support🤘🏼
Thank you for playing all the parts of this in one reaction. This is a fantastic album.
(At least the 4 copies of it I have owned were. 😊)
I wanted it to be a special, long form video for Christmas as a thank you to all of you for supporting me and my dreams, glad you enjoyed the reaction🎄🤘🏼
PURE GENIUS!!!
Masterpiece from world class musicians🎄🤘🏼
Let's run it back!
Ever so sincere reaction Ric. Merry Xmas!
Merry Christmas:)
Merry Christmas, Ridiculous Ric...love what you are doing for the music industry.
Merry Christmas, love to hear and share great music, thankful they created all of this music🤘🏼
All I can say is You got the best Christmas gift this year. Got to experience one of their best for the first time.
Time for a Full album reaction of Dark side
Love this, definitely was a gift from the rock gods🤘🏼 dark side of the moon will be coming fs
That last transition into funkadelic makes me wonder what PF would have done with funk/disco lol. They would have made some delicious tracks.
They definitely would’ve made some phenomenal tracks, that’s for sure!
Totally looking forward to this video. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Always good to see you Johnny, thanks for the support, and Merry Christmas🎄🤘🏼
Dark Side of the Moon / Wish You Were Here / Animals. Are incomparrable works of Art.
Totally agree from what I’ve heard, I am going to be diving into animals next hopefully🙏🏼
When this was made, it was side 1 and side 2. We listened to ALL of side 1. Before flipping it over. Thats how we heard everything originally. First a song on the radio. Once we were convinced. We would commit to the whole experience. One side at a time.

Merry Christmas 🎄, the Animals album and Echoes are up next in the PF journey:) thanks for all the support🤘🏼
Greatest intro ever !!!!
And outro as well.
Phenomenal, truly!
Great reaction! BTW: a very common rule on YT: NEVER interrupt a David Gilmour guitar solo! 👌👌😊😊
That was fun, thanks a lot. With these amazing concept albums, I suggest doing a side one reaction then a side two reaction.
Very thankful you enjoyed the video, I’ll definitely keep that in mind moving forward, happy holidays🎄

Happy Holidays🤘🏼, thank you so much!
After part 5, I believe it goes into "Welcome to the Machine ", which is also an awesome track!!
Will definitely be checking that out soon and uploading it🙏🏼
This is not classic rock.
THIS IS CLASSICAL ROCK!
A masterpiece🎄
Simply put .. It's a fuckin masterpiece
Couldn’t agree more🤘🏼🎄
Pink Floyd, like Rush, tool, and other bands of their ilk, their music immerses you.
I truly couldn’t agree more, totally immersive experience🎄🤘🏼
Happy Hanukkah! Thanks for the Floyd!
Happy Hanukkah, thanks for the support and checking out the video:)
I pushed Subscribe because of your reaction here...
Thank you so much David, hope to see you around the channel🤘🏼

Thankful for your support, the holidays were full of blessings! Especially jamming out to this masterpiece🎄

That’s so dope haha! I love that!
Nice.. If keeping in the Floyd, the song Dogs (studio version, preferably with lyrics) will blow your mind as well. Hugs.
Perfect, added it to the list🙏🏼 thank you for the support and input🎄
Forgot Genesis (oops!)
I’ll add it to the list🙏🏼
Merry Christmassss 🎄
Merry Christmas JT🎄🤘🏼, I’ll be live soon I swear it🤘🏼
Please check out the PULSE LIVE version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond. It is much shorter, but outstanding audio/visual!!!
I got you, I can’t resist PULSE videos haha:)
Merry Christmas, Ric
Excellent Track.
Love Pink Floyd 💗
Great Band.

Couldn’t agree more, blew me away🤘🏼
Please react to Echoes either Pompeii or Gdansk you will love both of them. keep up the good work you're doing great
Thank you so much for the support and the suggestion, Echoes is a massive request, planning on hitting it soon🤘🏼
It's not a flute. It's Richard playing the synthesizer.
Thank you for the heads up, happy holidays🎄🤘🏼
now you have to try ANIMALS🖖
Definitely have that and Echoes coming up in the future🤘🏼 hope to see you around the channel my friend🎄
The screaming guitar solo in part 7 (maybe 6?) could be 8 minutes longer and I wouldn't complain a bit.
They could’ve made anything in here longer and you wouldn’t hear a single complaint from me haha🤘🏼
Don't think it was a flute at the beginning and the end. I think it was a French horn, or Rick Wright's synth playing a flute or French horn sound. Just my ear. Others may disagree.
Totally fair, it was beautiful whatever it may have been!
S Hine on
Y ou crazy
D iamond
Which one's Pink
It's about syd barrett he had mental issues
I definitely understand that now, thank you for the information, this was a phenomenal piece of music🤘🏼
How poor todays music generally sounds in comparison to bands like the Floyd, Yes, Camel, Led Z., Deep Purple and so on. Hell, even Rush fits in this line-up (just joking!) 😍
It’s amazing how these bands paved the way for the new generation and are more relevant than ever these days! This music will never die🎄🤘🏼
