Using Electric Reel and Underwater Camera to Deep Drop for Tilefish

Today, we are deep dropping in the Florida Keys for more tilefish. We really enjoy using our Tanacom 1000 electric fish to catch tilefish. We also used our GoFish Cam to see how the fish interact with our bait. We used a mixture of cut bait and squid with lights and a 4lb window weight. The key is to pay attention to your rod as you drift. When you get a bite Mark the spot and if the fish doesn’t get hooked on that drift go just ahead of the spot and drift again and often the fish will hit again.

Hey brother, I finally bought a boat back in June but I’ve been fishing since I was young. The “being the captain and finding spots” has been a challenge for me. I just upgraded the electronics to a new simrad and also got the cmor chip. I really need some help understanding what I’m looking at and what I’m looking for on there. Been getting hoos and kings but I do want to learn finding good bottom to fish. I fish out of PE. What’s it take to get you out on my boat brother?

Can you see the tile on your fishfinder to get the spot to fish the tile fish ?

I often catch Blueline Tile around 400 to 500 ft deep. I can’t see them in my depth recorder it’s only a 600 watt.
