what if im using the basic RFR2 version? So far ive followed this to a T and power cycling doesnt start the sonoff. Im going to try a few other things like giving then static IP addresses like i did my D1's and nodeMCU's
I plugged mine into the Rpi USB port the selected the same computer that the ESPHome is running on it seems to have programmed it. Have you tried that? great video very well done. Thanks
Great Video! Do you have any preferences about ESPHome vs Tasmota? They seem quite identical to me, any difference in response time? ESPHome looks somehow more simple to configure.
Hey James, I’m not sure which pins you’re referencing, but most likely other solder points for accessing other pins on the esp8266 that is built into the sonoff.
Sonoff basic switches don't work anymore. If you have many of them they fight over reconnecting to wi-fi simultaneously and crashes the network. My wi-fi can't handle that many devices trying to reconnect at once. I need to unplug every device and reconnect them gradually. Then I'm lucky if it works for 24hours with current firmware. The previous firmware was more stable. Now sonoff basic is just annoying to own.
Hi si
Any link for esphome flasher ?
Thanks, just joined your channel as I want to learn HA

Yes, ESPHome has come a long way and is really great for flashing esp based devices with custom firmware!

Both are really easy to setup but I like the ability to update over the air with Esp home.
Nice video thx 🙂Remember to activate your Windows 😆
Question, what is other 4 pin header on the other side of the board used for?

Are you using the preloaded firmware from sonoff?
@@BlueBotTech no, the last update from eWelink.
This video goes over how to flash Tasmota or ESPHome firmware, this may help solve the issues you are seeing with ewelink!
