Check the jiggle valve on the thermostat. My Temps before was 200 - 209, checked the jiggle valve. Was on the wrong position, Temps went down to 190 after correcting it. Also doc.offroad has great skids options 😉 😆
I need help I tried doing everything u did but I didn’t use the no spill funnel but I did flush the old coolant out and added the new one, after that I started to hear a little ticking noise in the engine and it also takes longer to turn on and feels weak doesn’t idle like it used to, is this caused because I need to bleed it properly with the no spill funnel???
No. The coolant I used is Toyota coolant and I followed what Toyota says on the back of the jug. Very simple job. Unless you have a bad thermostat then change it and do a flush.
I’m gonna try to do mine next weekend. Single Mom can’t afford Someone to do it. Thank you for video. Mine has bad squeak in the front is it ball joints are bushing? How would I know?
OTC makes a flush gun that is awesome and like $50. It pulsates, and let’s you flush both directions. My rear heater core was plugged solid on my 99’ 4Runner to the point I had no rear heater. I power flushed a bunch both ways, main circuit and both heater cores and a new Toyota thermostat with the jiggle pins the right way. The Toyota thermostat was very different in dimensions (diameter flow center) than the aftermarket ones. I can’t help but think that there’s maybe a reason why. For no more expensive than it is, I suggest it’s rolling in a new radiator. I think I only spent 140 on a new radiator. I think my condenser was pretty cheap too like 100 and something bucks. New cooling stack and the whole system power flushed, mine runs nice and cool all the time. Even wheeling last weekend in 98° weather in the mountains on south Idaho the AC still blew nice and cold and the engine and trans were happy.
Crazy the only time not so hot, especially under center console, is on freeway driving... took off wheel spacers and the new geometry sensors in the computer took to make its own changes within its brain. Runs so much smoother even faster, ... axel extenders were 1¾" .... but it doesn't look beefy anymore 😕. Thanks for making this video.
Sorry dude not quite sure what your meaning? As I seen them fall off in your video as you where taking the diff out I couldn't tell if they where 1inch or 2inch diff droppers, I'm just looking at buying some really soon and not sure on what size to go.. that's why I'm asking
I'd replace the radiator cap. Ended up finding that the end piece of the cap melted away and broke lose and fell inside the radiator which caused my engine to over heat. $13 dollar cap turned into more in parts and repair
It’s a CAD designed and cnc cut parts. It’s not something that was just throw together in a backyard. It comes down to, do you trust your welding and fabrication skills. Best bet is to weld it all together and install it, trailer it to your local trails and put it through its paces until you feel it’s reliable enough to put your family in it. Seems better than just ditching the hard work you’ve done and throwing money away. That’s just my two cents.
If you are in UT and want to go wheeling hit me up on Instagram @austins_offroad_garage

Thanks, will do!
You forgot the engine block drain! 😮 it’s on the passenger side behind the front soft fender flap.

Thanks for the video. Btw what bumper do you have?
addicted off road front. 4xinnovations rear
Shouldn't you use distilled water?
I did exactly what the bottle of Toyota coolant said to do haha
You really should. Keeps the system free from contamination.
Would it be best to remove the thermostat before doing this to ensure that it’s not staying closed if the water isn’t warm enough?
No. The coolant I used is Toyota coolant and I followed what Toyota says on the back of the jug. Very simple job. Unless you have a bad thermostat then change it and do a flush.
Anything wrong with the 4x innovations skidplate other than you dont like the weight? Was thinking about getting one...
Nope just a beefy skid haha
4x is great for the money

Nice!
What size diff drop where you running? Would really appreciate a fast reply
Just the standard one. It’s a one size fits all type of deal.

That old shit is definitely less than 50/50, who even knows what the acidity is.
yeah it was time to change it for sure
