Accents are beautiful. It tells someone where they are from. All nationalities have them period

Rembrandt Van Gogh That's the disadvantage of learning English in the Philippines. We tend to teach them the English language yet the accent we teach them is the way how Filipinos speak. Let's have Sandara as an example, when she speaks English, she sounds more like a Filipino rathen than a Korean(which has a different accent when it comes to English). Though there are quite a lot of English teachers that are teaching the correct way of saying the words without succumbing to the Filipino Accent

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY DISADVANTAGE OF LEARNING ENGLISH IN THE PHIL.? What's wrong with Filipino accent? Which one is correct English accent? The UK, America, Australia, Canada???????? camonnnnnn WHOSE STANDARD???????? It is correct when Rambrandt said all nationalities have them period but when you say disadvantage that is already a prejudice.

Ikr the fact that I a son of 2 teachers is still eligible to to be called a low income family is fucking disgusting considering I know how much they work at their jobs, they handle so many things even giving out relief goods for those staying in evacuation, managing the voting process, getting complicated things that does absolutely nothing else for their job except for formalities, creating a complex lesson plan based on the cluttered curriculum that's filled with useless stuff most of the time, managing 6 - 8 classes a day with over 300 - 500 students remembering all their names, grading all their paper work, grading all their performances, managing all their exams, keeping tabs with each of their students when they aren't able to submit their activities.
      Managing school events,
Like if this was my job every year I would've quitted quite a long time ago, but these teachers love their students they remember each and everyone of their previous ones and sometimes even gets news of either one of their students manages to become top of their class in college or one of their students died of an accident or got arrested. They're that dedicated.

And even English subject is not a favourite academic of a Filipino students but still they have to study and learn coz subjects are teach in English such as Maths, Science, Economics, History and etc.

$50US is probably a super high hourly rate. Most likely in a specialized category like Business English or for an international exam. I was an EFL teacher in Korea. Friends who taught English off work were paid around $30 hour average for simple conversations or lower level English. Cheaper if you have multiple people, such as 2 kids at the same time.

We can understand and speak English Language, but that doesn't mean that we're good when it comes in grammar, right pronunciation, (some/plenty -whatever it is- has a problem in the correct spelling of some words. Haha) (I'm sorry, because I'm one of 'some has a problem when it comes in spelling') .
Anyway, Philippines is still the country who has very best English Teachers in Asia. Others can teach you a basic, intermediate, and/or professional English language.
In reality, English Language is one of the most very important language/communication in the Philippines.
Also, we Filipinos preferred to speak TagLish (Tagalog - English combination).

i'd really like to know why korean people look down on south east asians (indonesians, thais, vietnamese ,malaysians, filipinos, etc), what could be the reasons? ive watched other blogs who have mentioned about it, and the only reason i could get is mainly because these are poor countries therefore most of them are uneducated?, so they get discriminated a lot. are there any other reasons? reasons like for example, based on history, culture etc.? i do see a lot of koreans here in the philippines to improve their english speaking skills or to learn english, do they still think we are uneducated? im really curious. i posted this question on other related videos too, one korean said, those who goes to the philippines are losers and poor, and cannot compete with other koreans that's why they go to undesired places, lol is that even true?

Well I've seen korean stars insult Phillipines because of their accents which for me, it was really insulting to her that since many not most, come to the Phillipines to learn English. I'm hoping it's not true and if it is I hope they realize what they've done wrong. And as for the other "poorer" asian countries, I have heard they also made fun of them, honestly I hope they've all apologize for the insulting things they've said. But it's not only korean people who make fun of the poorer countries there are also many other countries that make fun of asian in general. Sorry the for the long comment Idk where I'm going with this. I hope they limit their insults to other countries and other countries try not to insult asian too because tbh after hearing shit like that I kinda wanted to stop listening to kpop, stop watching kdramas, and even sometimes I want to confront my korean friend about this

Being poor is a circumstance of life - it doesn't make one a loser. I'd say a loser is a person from a "good" family who has everything their affluent circumstance entails and yet are so mal-educated to think a person bettering themselves are somehow losers. People with these sentiments are most likely wannabes or nouveau riche who has money but can't afford class. And the asshole you encountered is probably one of these people.

English is the medium of instructions in school from kindergarten to college. Not only that signs and billboards are in English.
It's easy to transition from Spanish to English because Philippines already use Roman Alphabet from Spanish era. If you ask us to read Chinese, Korean, Japanese or even ASEAN brothers in the South we're Lost. It's easier for Filipino to understand Mexicans and other Hispanic countries because dialect at home is mixed with Spanish and Filipino. It's Weird isn't It? Learned it hard when my job assigned me to work in the Hispanic and Japanese neighborhood in the U.S.

Completed disagree. I am a Canadian that has lived in the Philippines for just under four years. There are two myths about Filipinos and English. First, that all Filipinos (or most) know English. This is far from the truth. Even those who study in prestigious schools like La Salle are hesitant to speak in English. And second, the English that they know is very rudimentary. The moment you use some idioms and phrases they are all at sea. They will say "I am having nose bleed" very often when you speak normal Canadian English to them. On the other hand, the English spoken in countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan is much better. Of course there will always be the ethnic accent. I say this with conviction because I have married a Filipina and brought her and her son to Canada and half the time they cannot understand the phrases and sayings.

Harvey Quinto yes many Filipinos may hardly differentiate "nang" and "ng". But "din" and "rin" are actually the same thing. Here in Tagalog, we sometimes mix "d" from "r" like "dumadating" sometimes pronounced as "dumarating" and "rumarating". Other examples are:
      Dati - rati
      Doon - roon
