Easy Blues Songs To Play On Electric Guitar & Easy Stevie Ray Vaughan Songs To Play
Music has a tendency to evolve to fit the current state of the world. I don't know about you, but I find that super interesting! In this blues guitar lesson, let's explore how the blues evolved!
This lesson has something for everyone. It starts off in beginner land, then moves to intermediate land, and ends with a few advanced techniques sprinkled in.
We are going to start things off way back in 1959 with some Howlin' Wolf. The song we are going to look at is super easy. It is called No place to Go. Excellent song with a super easy riff. And also this super easy riff repeats throughout the entire song! I love teaching people songs like this. Doesn't take you long to get the riff down, then you can start playing it along with the song. Go on UA-cam or Spotify or whatever platform you use to ingest music, and start jamming along! It is just as good as playing with a metronome, but you get to jam along with a crew of badass blues cats.
The 2nd song we are going to look at is going to be Cold Shot by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Literally the exact same riff, but evolved. Stevie makes it his own by simply adding in a IV chord and a V chord, and of course a few right hand Stevie-isms.
Even today, the blues is evolving and being reinvented. People will always need the blues, and the blues will always evolve to fit the current state of the world. Become part of the evolution and learn these riffs!!

Geez! I love how you break this down. Yes, repeat what you previously said! Too many instructors say it once (mumbling!) then blow on to the next move. Slow it down & let it breath like you do! I wish you a lot of success!!

Mike B. is the best guitar teacher I have ever worked with. You could do a whole lot worse for a mentor. Will and Mike have put together an amazingly simple training system that got me (not only am I middle-aged, but I am also a quadriplegic with, Thank God, some decent left arm and right hand movement). Everyone thought it was folly to even try to learn the guitar, but I am feeling like the past year has provided a solid foundation and things are clicking. I see improvement every week and the consistent playing has slowed the degradation in my arms. I don't want to start sounding like an unpaid spokesmodel. I am just thrilled about my playing and I had t share my experience. Rock on fellow guitarists.
