George Lynch is my all time favorite guitar player. I am SO glad you did this and enjoyed it! Till the Living End off Under Lock and Key is a banger!! Thank you!! ❤️🤘🎸
I remember buying their first album back in 82 I think. It was a banger for sure and I still enjoy it to this day. This type of music is what me and a lot of my friends listened to in high school
HOLY HOLY MOLY MOLY... Didn't expect this on this morning... Wow how COOL... Glad Ya ALL gotta hear this GREAT Example of 1984 Heavy Metal... One of my Personal Favorite Albums... Was My Band. With RATT, Maiden, Scorpions, W.A.S.P. , and DIO.... MANY Other Greats. But These were my Top Bands. GEORGE LYNCH....WOW....THESE WERE THE NEW COMERS. AND HARD TO BEAT...
And YES. You are EXACTLY RIGHT. These were TOTALLY Organic TIMES... it was a turning point with electronics and Media becoming bigger and bigger...to Imitate or try to bring things back like this. Just Won't Work... But Incredible times. For Sure...
Love your reactions and this song smokes and George Lynch is a wicked guitarist. you are right. people then focused on being truly skilled and at excelling on their instruments and you had to have he talent to sing. back then they had no trickery like auto tune to correct someone who cant sing in key. today theres so much Fraud going on. sad times indeed except for some exceptions.
I'd definitely suggest the live version of Tooth and Nail from the album "Beast from the East", the song has much more punch and the solo is well even better.
I used to go see Dokken at the Country Club in Reseda California in the early 80s. in fact, I’ve seen just about every hair metal/thrash metal band that started in the 80s before they were ever famous at the Country Club, The Troubadour and The Roxy. Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Great White, W.A.S.P, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Sepultura, Testament and so many more. Dokken was one of my favorite to go see because George Lynch was one of the best guitar players out there. From 1980 through 1989. I saw hundreds of shows at the local clubs where I was at in California. Partied with many of the band members in those bands. The Rainbow Bar and Grill was an awesome place to meet and party with the band members. Those were my prime years and thankfully I lived through them. I always enjoy your reactions, words are never necessary, because your faces show everything. Keep discovering all that great music.👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙
Andre, you’re not wrong……such rock bands have testosterone-driven energy and power……..and allot of that feeling if power came from the guitar, from Townsend, Hendrix, Page, Van Halen….guitar-driven rock is a masculine sound. When keyboards became paramount, and guitar was less used……there were still amazing,y good groups and songs, but the energy was different…less aggressive. These days, you have bands like The Warning, which have claimed that power….so it doesn’t have to be a “masculine” thing……it’s the guitar-based rock versus keyboard-based that makes such a big difference. At least in my mind.

George Lynch was on the top 5 of 80’s metal guitarists. Don Dokken also had a very unique voice. Check Kiss of Death.
