Every now and then I come back to Chrissy and have an indulgence session- SHE IS THAT GOOD. God, I'm 71 and I've had a crush on her since the beginning of the '80's...just watch 'Good Die Young', 'All My Life', 'Hey Little Boy'...oh Man, so good! But yeah, Divinyls the band. Lots of varied members...but what a band. There is a gelling of spirits here that wraps that music round me like a lover or a warm blanket on a cold night... just like this song here.🌏
No female performer before or present even comes close to this women for her badass ,sultry performance . The exceptional ones always seem to leave us too early . RIP to a true rock chick .
Thank you nightmare on elm street part 4 for giving us this gem. No internet back then. We had to wait for credits to roll. This is my jam still in 2021.
All these old Divinyls classics... they were gold when they came out, and, 30+ years later, they still sound just as good. Music this good never gets old.
I saw them live at the Jump Club in Collingwood in 1982. I was in the front row. Chrissie crouched in front of us and I stroked her stockinged thigh - true!
It is very difficult to choose my favourite Divinyls song. In 1988 I bought the 12" vinyl of " Back to the Wall " It's not only my fave Divinyls' song it's in my Top 100 songs of all time. RIP Chrissie Amphlett the Queen of Aussie Rock.
What a Lady, What a Front Girl, What a Performer , What a Band , Sadly, What a LOSS. Missing Chrissy. What a Aussie Legend and am i ThankFul to have grown up In Her Era and to have seen her Perform Numerous Times, Missing Chrissy. :(
The dynamic Divinyls were a favourite in the 80s and still remain to this day. Chrissy Amphlett's voice is addictive , I swear. A band of very skilled musicians.
I was so lucky to see them heaps in my teens & early 20s in Sydney. She is one of my favourite front women ever, & definitely a role model of a strong, creative woman.
Been a huge fan of Chrissy/divinyls since highschool. i too shed a tear more than some since i too lost my partner to the big C. You wont be forgotten Chrissy :) your music will live on. We love you sweetie...

I still cant believe she's gone... restrained fury. absolutely brilliant. she would have been 56 today happy birthday to one of the best ladies of rock and roll
The loss of Chrissy has left an enormous void in the Aussie music scene. Chrissy was unrivalled in the days when we were spoilt for choice music-wise, no one came close. With such a unique front woman, everything about Divinyls was original, outrageous and sadly, irreplaceable. RIP Chrissy.
I touch myself was their main hit... Also outstanding is Pleasure and Pain and Love School... She was a real pro and sorely missed in today's music world
@@edarzoomanian9745it was, but their earlier music from 1980 onwards was a really distinctive sound and style. Rawer emotional delivery. A couple of earlier hits - apart from this song - are Boys in Town, and Science Fiction. I highly recommend you check those out ❤

Even though I grew up in Sydney; ironically, the only time I saw the Divinyls live was at the Roxy in Hollywood in 1988. I’ve never seen anything like it, the crowd was mesmerised. Chrissy prowled the stage like a punk pop lioness, I remember the crowd throwing money at her.

Brett Gundry .......actually, Chrissy was older than is documented, she was born in ‘55 and was 58 when she passed, still far too young. I absolutely loved Divinyls, saw them live often and they never failed to deliver a blistering gig. I highly doubt we’ll ever see the likes of Christina again, she was quite simply, unique. My biggest regret is that this fabulous band was best-known outside Australia for (imo, the far weaker) “I Touch Myself” rather than the incredible early material that made Divinyls truly special. Then the pathetic amount of views - not only here but on most Divinyls sites, seems to reinforce the fact that unfortunately, that’s the song they’ll be remembered for when they had infinitely superior material.

This song reflects how I am feeling now with regards to living in this hell whole of a world we are living in.

It’s a story of a woman being taped in an alley. Her back is to the wall so she doesn’t get it in her behind.

We are living in desperate times
These are desperate times my dear
There's no way out of here
There's no way out my dear
I've been holding back all my tears
Just so the pressure don't show
Like a time bomb ticking away
I might blow up some day
Don't push don't shove
Better watch what you do
When my back's to the wall
I might do anything at all
When my back's to the wall
I might take any chance at all
When my back's to the wall
I might do anything
You've got the upper hand
Well I've got nothing to lose
When I'm trapped in a corner like this
I might light a fuse
Don't push me too far
You better watch what you do
Don't push me too far
You better run for your life
I've got nothing to lose
I might light a fuse
Yeah yeah
Don't come any closer
