Seeing Mr Horne's stand up today for the first time. It's fantastic! I also really enjoyed the Just For Laughs set at The Comedy Store. Extremely clever and precisely executed. I would quite like to be a stand up comedian, but as my husband pointed out to me from the other room when I voiced this dream out loud, "You don't stand up!". He's right. I've got two chronic illnesses. Lots of love, Em x
Alex-- your style of comedy and wordplay is one of my greatest things in existence! It reminds me of the jokes my dad made when I was younger; not your traditional "dad" joke, just clever ways to play with words. Every one of your routines brings a smile to my face, so thank you for the immense happiness you bring to all of us! You've also lent a small part in saving my marriage... I used to drive my wife nuts with this silly joke where I'd say "Oh, that reminds me." After a long pause, my wife will say "Of what?" and I say "Oh, nothing specific really, just sort of a general reminding." It annoyed her every time until one day she found herself laughing at a similar joke you made on 8 Out of 10 Cats ("he was in a jazz band which was once described"), and now she just calls it my 'Alex Horne' joke. 😂 Please know that our small family over in the States eagerly await (and rewatch) series after series of Taskmaster; although Greg and every guest is incredible, our favorite part of Taskmaster is the chance to watch you be you. One day we hope to travel to the UK and attend a taping, but until then we'll keep watching everything Alex Horne wherever we can find it. (We even just purchased two copies of 'Wordwatching' to read together!) Thanks again for spreading your particular brand of joy to the world! The world is a much better place with you and yours in it. :) -Thomas & Megan
Thanks Joseph! There are two Horne Section radio shows left - Radio 4, Sunday nights, 7.15pm... then we're at the South Bank in London every other Thursday all Summer - plus Edinburgh all August... See you there! Alex
heard the horne section for the first time yesterday on radio 6. i will be tuning forking in for more. love the brass. can't beat brass, polish and panel beat, brasso etc dead funny anyway, loved the drum and bass deconstruction, where can i find that? i'd like to let my mates listen to that. good stuff. made me nearly piss myself.
There is really no need to be so formal, but thank you anyway. And, just because I thought you would want to know, I heard of you from Mr. Oliver Ridley. I'll be sure to tune in on Sunday, but I doubt I'll make it to Edinburgh though. Thanks for replying. If there is anything you would like me to pass on to anyone at LC, I'll be happy to be your messenger.
Hi Matthew N J Davis, Alex here. I don't have recordings of my shows, I'm afraid. But I'm on Radio 4 every sunday at 7.15pm at the moment, then I'm doing a new show at Edinburgh this year my website (w w w . a l e x h o r n e . c o m) for details. Thanks for wondering!
I love the olive joke, and it's making me believe that ever since he first used it, he's said it in EVERY GIG
Being 🇨🇦 i like the Chat magazine joke
Took the A4, got it right away. Cats get olives... took me weeks. Alex, you’re brilliant.

I bet Alex’s live standup creates laughs in the moment and two days later when the really good jokes suddenly make sense.
Thanks Joseph!

That was very funny. He’s getting so much out of so little.
This guy is serious
I liked the puns in your set. Very "Tim Vinesque"
I'd rather see the guy who was there before that!
pretty poor showing.
this was uploaded in 2007, so of course it is
