    Do you find denting to be a problem? Or just a pesky annoyance?

    I can't express how important what you're saying needs to be understood. I come from a manufacturing world in aerospace. And I can tell you how important it is to document and standardized what works. There are ton of variables that will contribute to failure. I honestly don't care about denting in my own bait when shooting. But for selling I can see people want perfect. I do see a ton of bad advice like you said.

    I just started bait making. Been watching for around 6 years and you helped me get started. But I did mess up and should’ve bought this mold instead of the old school stick top pour mold because it’s too time consuming for me and I really regret not having that core shot. Thank you for all the information over the years

    When holding pressure on the mold be sure to release pressure before removing the injector. Also, tilt the injector toward you incase their is pressure the hot plastic shoots away from you.

    Very good info Chris. Question If it’s cool molds that are part of the problem that cause denting then why do people use Cooling Plates? 🍻

    • @WorldsWorstFishing
      @WorldsWorstFishing  2 місяці тому +1

      They use them when running high volume injection when molds get super hot..so hot that the baits won't set up for half an hour. It's to maintain timing

    Question: Is there a way to minimize the bubbles that you show in the fluke mold at the end of the video? I have a crappie bait mold that does that consistently.

    • @WorldsWorstFishing
      @WorldsWorstFishing  2 місяці тому

      @tevans404 not really..you'd have to be able to add vents or drill out the gates wider

  • @chuckpeck8323
    @chuckpeck8323 2 місяці тому

    I was having a lot of denting issues with my 5” Bloodline molds until you clued me in on the importance of not allowing rapid cooling. Even when I use very hot plastisol with complicated skin pouring or capsuling, I now have only rare denting. I still am plagued by air bubbles but I think that is mostly due to pour injection technique as you demonstrated here.

    That same mold with the core rods, using Dead-on sinking, gave me dents. Played with the temps and still had dents. I wasn’t injecting slow and holding as long though

    I have to say I was really shocked you pulled out the stinger mold. I have had dents in it, like 2 or 3, over 1000+ baits. The split tail shad is notorious in my house for denting along the sides and I was guessing that was what you were going to grab.
