Well, heck. I just repeated this procedure, step by step, and successfully painted my first face. Can't thank you enough.
Cool👍
Excellent tutorial video looks amazing thanks for sharing 👍👍
Good job
Thank you,a fascinating glimpse into your marvellous talent.loved the care and time taken in preparation. . Truly amazed by your precision and technique 🤓 Cannot wait to see another part . ATVB Scott Somerset 🙌
Excellent work, Alpine figures are really good and your painting of it was brilliant, well done 👍
One of my biggest struggles to this day is painting figures. I have a bunch of errors and bad paint jobs that are collecting dust in a drawer. Maybe I’ll try doing it again. If I can get them anywhere near your quality I will consider it a success. Another amazing video, my friend 🍺
Really nice result. I could learn a lot from the face shading. The red medal ribbon looks like an aiming mark for a German sniper.
Always happy to see a new video from you
Nice figure Comrade

im trying to improve my figure painting and found your video very helpful and encouraging.
I done the same figure few months ago :) well done :)
Excellent work! 💯
SO CAN WE EXPECT A BERLIN OR END OF WAR ATTACK ON JAPANESE JUST A HINT VERY GOOD ART WORK 😊 🙏 .
Nice work!!!
Thanks....Nice figure👍
Really enjoyed this.
I don't recall seeing you do the eyes, or do you just leave them in shadow?
Sometimes I put a black dot in the eye, sometimes I don't.....I don't recall if I did on this one👍
@@CWModelling - OK thanks. I'm still experimenting on what is the best to do to avoid a wide eyed startled look 😅
My advice would be just to leave the eyes as shadows unless you're doing competition painting
@@CWModelling - thanks so much. Really enjoy your videos. I don't normally watch ones with no narration but yours are edited so well I actually done miss it 🙂
Great work as usual, i noticed you switched up brushes. Do you prefer them over Windsor Newton? . I can't find Opus ones 🤷♂️
Thanks.......yes I think I'm preferring the Artis Opus brushes as I've been disappointed with the quality of W&N for a while. I think you can only buy the Artis ones from their website👍
Another excellent video Ian. After watching it I checked out the price of those brushes. I then watched a video by "Squidmar Miniatures", who gives his opinion on various brands. He states the Artis Opus 'S' and the 'M' series are re-branded 'Rosemary & Co' brushes but with a higher price tag. He says that Raphael 8404 brushes are way better quality and much cheaper than Artis Opus or W & N series 7. Have you used the 8404's and what is your opinion of them compared to the Artis Opus?
Thanks........not tried 8404's but I'll look in to it some time 👍......I have a Rosemary & Co brush but I've not tried it yet........The Artis Opus brushes are definitely better than W&N IMO and I felt it was worth the investment as they're a similar price to Series 7👍
Excellent in every way. Good video about a good paintwork with impressive result, Ian.
Very nice to see. Best wishes and some nice Easter days. Greetings, Joachim
Is it not necessary to prime the figure first? I notice you went straight into painting the flesh tones after assembling the figure.
The figure was primed with a grey primer but I use an aerosol primer so did it off camera outside👍
@@CWModelling Ahh okay thanks, I was wondering about that, cos it did look primed but I never saw that step. Now I know why :)
Hey Comrade! what brush size is this? 00000 or 0000 ?
It says in the video at 3.49 👍
