I'm floored by the sound of this magnificent piece. Stellar playing as well - this guy knows what we want to hear and wastes no time on inconsequential stuff.
I've been wanting to take my poplar wood snare and make a wrap with thin metal flashing, it would mostly be for looks. I do use foil in all of the kit except for the bass, i haven't gone back since a year now.
Would you be able to do a shootout between this snare and it’s more expensive bro’s the bell brass and phosphor bronze? Great work. Love that medium high tuning just butter 🧈
I have this drum… love it. Plus I have a Gretsch kit. But there it’s always in the back of my mind I didn’t buy that one over hyped snare… Ludwig hammered bronze!
I just like both for different reasons. This one to me is more controlled, but it’s 699 the other 749 so not too different in price. Some or most Ludwig snares are over priced and over hyped, but there are some that live up to it. I have the lm400 and bought it before the price hike. That snare is amazing, I’m probably bias cause I love aluminum snares lol
I have a Gretsch Brooklyn maple poplar snare and that’s a killer snare too. What’s not to like about Gretsch. I would own all their snares but lol I’m not rich.
Hey man, in this video it's a 60s Ludwig 22x14 (mahogany/poplar) with a coated Powerstroke 3 batter head, ebony Ambassador front, and a large beach towel inside. I think the plastic side of a DW 101 beater was used as well.
Aghhh another snare to add to my list how awful lol great playing, been looking into this snare a lot it’s one of my favorite sounding metal snares. I’m usually a sucker for aluminum
Bronze. That wonderful cross between metal and wood tones..

Amazing snare.... even better playing
Just received & it’s all as good as everyone has mentioned & more!! Highly recommend & reasonable price to add to anyone collection 🥁
Smooth one! Especially in medium-low and medium tuning. Nice demo.
Loving mine! Great demo.
A one and only sound. Amazing 🤩 !
I have the 5” version. Killer drum!
I'm just gonna say... you may want to stay tuned for the video that's coming two weeks from today
Absolute Killer snare..
I just ordered one but it’s a 8-10 wk wait from Gretsch. But can’t wait to receive 🥁
Phenomenal.

If we get them in stock, sure! But as of right now we do not have either of those other drums.
There’s a little problem with that throw off switch though. The snares turned off twice in this demo.
That's because on the top of the throw there's a button that locks it in place
hello sir. Could you do a demo about Gretsch hammered chrome over brass 14*5?
Fantastic
Good snare but can you play Death Metal with it? Can the 1mm shell withstand heavy and intense playing?
Do you use Ralph Hardimons, tune the top head Formica tight, and hit like like you're actually trying to break things? If not, you're probably fine.
I’m stuck between this and raw bronze from Ludwig
