  • The wait is over! Check out our interactive wargame between the "wargaming professionals" of ‪@LittleWarsTV‬ and the "professional historians" led by the American Battlefield Trust's own Garry Adelman. In August you guys were able to take the roles of George Washington and British General William Howe and vote on critical decisions during the battle. Watch now to see how your commands turned out! Will they affect the outcome of one of the largest battles of the Revolutionary War?
The wargame has two endings. You can visit each here:

Retreat in an orderly fashion to Dilworth but halfway to the city, have the separate groups draw straws on who has to stay behind to stall the enemy chase while their main forces combine at the city. The stall tactics should provide enough time to entrench and reinforce the city.

I was a tabletop gamer for many years, though not for a while. I was mostly into Napoleonics, but MOL the same era as this. The problem that the historians will have is that the gamers will know the intricacies of the game mechanics far far far better than they will. It would be like me vs. Ernie Banks at 1960s era fantasy baseball. He may know the players far better than me, but I know the game system and he doesn't. It would be (almost) as unfair a contest as he vs me in a home run derby.

I’m ok with it. Although wouldn’t it be crazy if war movie actors played as their characters in a war game. Martin Sheen as General Lee. Jeff Daniels playing as George Washington. James Isaacs plays as Colonel Tavington (Tarlton). I could definitely see Mel Gibson showing up and playing as Benjamin Martin.

"Professional Wargamers". I bet they're just neck deep in money and groupies. Even more action than Professional Historians, I'm pretty sure.

If you mean in miniatures that they spent all their money on, and group pictures with the guys we play the games with, then absolutely.
